Very good. I don’t work in an office, but I end up with shoulder pain on that right side driving in my truck. It seems like driving creates a lot of posture issues for me. Even though I try to counteract the reclining bucket seat still seems sort of an issue. It’s hard to sit properly.
Hi Olivier! I'm a big fan, thank you for all your video and the information that you share with us. I have a request, could you make a video about gaming chairs? Should they be used at all, are they ergonomic enough? If so, how to pick a good one, and what to watch out for?
Hi dear! Thank you 🙂 Gaming chairs are on my to-do-list indeed. The issue I face is the following: - I have never seen a good one, mainly because of the shape of the backrest as I explain here: th-cam.com/video/p5jAbrT71p0/w-d-xo.html. They don't fit the butt to hold the belt, in other words. This is why some are provided with a lumbar cushion, but it's not as good as on a proper office chair. Plus, many tend to be really too deep, and often slippery - I'm not gonna buy everything that I speak about, so I try to find deals with resellers. But it's uncomfortable for me to take someone's time, furniture and premises and then to publish a video saying it's non ergonomic... But I don't abandon the fight! I'll find a way, promised...
@@OlivierGirard Great, thank you! What you say in the comment and the video is quite informative already. I totally understand the hassle of getting the products for the videos. I hope things go your way! :) FYI, Corsair T3 Rush is a gaming chair I was considering buying, I spend quite some time testing it in the store, following your advice on how to adjust it properly :) I must say it felt quite good, better than some office chairs in a similar price range. It does leave me wondering if the cushion will keep providing good support for a long time. Time will show :)
Hmmm. Browse through the pain patterns on this site (click on the region, then on the exact area, and have a look at the pain patterns).. Then, let me know if you recognize any...
Oliver have you ever had any cases where the side of the neck it seems where to scapula connect at the top side of the neck is a extreme discomfort sensation not so much described as pain? Both sides of neck affected It seems the area around thoracic outlet is very strange sensation kind of like a pinching not sure how to describe when doing leaning a ear to that side. No numb hands or arm issues though Shirt collars are extremely uncomfortable is something I would assume anyone has this mention. Unwearable at night Discomfort is so bad I think about going to the ER weekly/ almost nightly. I live in a rural area 2 hours any mri equipment and been told it’s my muscles but I been doing many your and other exercises to NO/very little changes. Sensation has been every minute past 4.5 months with solid 4 months exercise/stretching. Only relief is to lay on one side to get relief the side Im laying on Really appreciate any input
Hey Matt... you seem to be experiencing massive discomfort! Sorry to hear this... Look: I have never heard about exactly this type of issue. But I can tell you that most of my patients report stories that I never heard before 😨: that's usually why they come to me. My initial reaction to your description would be: OK, let's say that your doctors are right and that it's muscular. Neck muscles can never be too relaxed. Hence, let's try to relax them and see how they react. Exercises don't seem to work, so let's escalate: let's put heat (warm shower, warm gel, heat pack, infrared lamp: everything that you can imagine) all around your neck (front and back) every 2hrs for 3 consecutive weeks, and let's see if it makes any difference. Don't focus on what you feel day by day: for 3 weeks, stick to the process of heat every 2 hours (i.e. 8 times a day) and switch off your brains. If nothing happens, get back to me...

This is incredibly helpful, the best video on this subject! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you Aimee 😄!!
Thank you for explaining with such details and logic
I love feedbacks in which the words details and logic appear: my goal is to bring clarity and exactness at the same time :)
this ones for me!

What about upper and forearm strain? I don't know what is causing it. Any ideas?
