    Hey Olivier! I finally got a chance to sit down and fully watch this video. I first wanted to say thanks again for taking the time to evaluate my sitting posture and standing posture. Following your advice, I will be making numerous changes that will further improve my ergonomics. My goal is to adopt these changes, as well as follow the exercise recommendations that you gave, and then take follow-up photos every so often to monitor my progress.
    Also, one follow-up comment/question after watching this video:
    While I know that my chair is technically supposed to be "ergonomic" and already has lumbar support built in, I feel like when I don't use the foam block, my shoulders sag forward and down a lot more, and that my head also pushes forward more. (actually, it was a roll of paper towels in this picture lol!, but now I do have a foam block) So, that's why I've opted to keep using the foam lumbar support because I notice that it is easier for my shoulder to not hunch forward, and I feel that my head doesn't lean forward as much. However, I will lower the position of the lumbar support as you suggested.

    Hi Olivier! I found you on TH-cam about a week ago. And by just following your instructions on the lower back I am feeling so much better. I typed at a desk for 42 years, always with a hollowed lower back because that is the way I was taught. Thus I started to also walk that way. My mind was blown when you showed me the correct way to sit and stand. I am retired now and have time to work on this so I join your posture correction class. I will start tomorrow,

    I love it! I hope to see more evaluations like this, as they are helpful in understanding the content of some of the other videos and the chapters in your book. Maybe one day, I'll be brave enough to send in my own pictures!?

    Super cool video idea! Would you ever consider reviewing the Haworth Fern? I’ve been interested in this chair for a while and am very curious to see what you think of it!

      Great suggestion, thank you for that! I happen to know a shop where they have this chair... I'll try to see if they'd let me shoot a review :)

    Oliver does back support reduces disc pressure? What is the difference in sitting with and without back support?

    • @OlivierGirard
      @OlivierGirard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate! The lumbar support is here to bear the "horizontal" part of your weight, i.e. the slouching of your pelvis that indeed loads the discs. This short explains the usefulness of a lumbar support: th-cam.com/users/shortsgFfN23elPTk.
      But you see... I'm talking about a lumbar support, not about a back support. If you start sticking your shoulder blades against the backrest, the result is very different: th-cam.com/video/Fa4SFs85too/w-d-xo.html

    He seems to be sitting on a steelcase leap, and yet he is using that foam block. I dont get this.

      Hey Nitin, going to copy over what I typed out in another comment:
      "While I know that my chair is technically supposed to be "ergonomic" and already has lumbar support built in, I feel like when I don't use the foam block, my shoulders sag forward and down a lot more, and that my head also pushes forward more.
