Rotator Cuff Tear Everything You Need To Know To Understand & Fix The Root Problem

  • Rotator cuff tears can heal NATURALLY without surgery if you do the right things. Most healthcare professionals don’t know this and don’t know how to guide their patients on healing naturally.
Treatment for a torn rotator cuff is heavily focused on medications, injections, and surgery. If you do physical therapy for your rotator cuff injury, most physical therapists are unsure of how to properly treat a rotator cuff injury with the goal of avoiding surgery. They’re used to treating people that have already had rotator cuff repair surgery, and that is a completely different shoulder rehabilitation process.
In this video, Dr. David explains all you need to know to understand and begin fixing the root problem of rotator cuff tears for the long-term.

    Dr. David answers questions like:
“What is the main cause of a rotator cuff tear?”
“How do you know if you have a torn rotator cuff?”
“What does a rotator cuff tear feel like?”
“What causes rotator cuff tears to get worse?”
“How can I begin to treat a rotator cuff tear at home?”
“How long does a rotator cuff tear take to heal?”
“What will the doctor prescribe for rotator cuff tears?”
“Do I need surgery for a rotator cuff tear?”

What are you?!!!!!! No one and I mean no one has ever been able to explain the exact blue print for this enormously common problem! I’ve been suffering for years, been to multiple physiotherapists and they have given me complete nonsensical garbage and only gotten worse! Within 2 minutes of this video I knew you had diagnosed my problem! Thank you! You should be paid 18x your current rate

Dr, thank you SO much! I feel like I've been to "rotator cuff" school. My left shoulder has been hurting like hell! I did a little research and came across your video. The way you explained everything felt like an honest doctor- patient conversation and not just a TH-cam video.

Ive had chronic shoulder bursitis for years, both shoulders, plus some arthritis in both shoulders and now recently diagnosed with two small rotator cuff tears in both shoulders - they looked just like the partial tear sketch in your video when i saw them on the live ultrasound scan a few weeks ago. Hoping to get sone long-term pain relief and healing and hope to stop this stuff getting worse. Physiotherapist told me my problems have likely been caused through wear and tear and overuse through swimming, plus age related (Im 60 yrs old). I sometimes think too much is attributed to getting older, my parents lived into their nineties without shoulder problems and neither of my two older brothers have these issues. Thanks for uploading this video, you give me hope in getting better.

I wished I had seen your video a year ago. I had a bad fall in early Dec 2022; was told I probably had whiplash. I chiropractor did say he thought something was going on with my right shoulder. The pain radiated along my shoulders, neck, down the outside of my arms; my traps front and back ached at times. I went to my regular Dr.; she just sent me to the hospital therapist. He told me to do all the stretches & exercises you said in your video NEVER to do with rotary cuff tear! No wonder I wasn't healing. I quit doing the exercises & stretches about 2 months of doing them on and off; I would end up in worse pain after doing them. So, I got fed up; discouraged and just quit doing the exercises. I only took walks afteer that. It's been a year now and I'm much, much better. I think in time it'll heal completely. Watching your video pretty much described where I had the pain in my shoulder, and everything I did wrong! Don't exercise a rotary cuff tear, and tendons can heal on their own. I'm not young, I'm 60 and mine healed up by letting it rest, but it did take months. Thanks for the confirmation and advice.

Yes! You are an angel sent to give us real info for healing our precious body. 16 years ago, I suffer a fall and went to treatment. In the last therapy I felt a little uncomfortable, later at home I was screaming with pain. My son had to give me a massage. And suggested me to do what you are describing -more or less, since he studied how to apply massages. Doctor said I needed surgery. Some people suggested me to go through it -FOR WORKERS COMP- I declined it because I thought It wasn’t worth the handicap money. I kept working and just retired this last March.
I am now 78 and even though I haven’t done the exercises religiously, I am really in excellent shape. Yes! You can heal yourself!
From now on, I certainly will follow your suggestions to feel better and better.
    Blessings on your way. Mayu.

This program works even if you've had rotator cuff surgery in the past but continue to have rotator cuff problems. This segment is very accurate. Thank you very much! Please share the moves that are for people who are not going for surgery. So the exercises I have been given just as you said, were actually for after the surgery. Again you mentioned precisely, yesterday, I did those exercises that you showed we shouldn't do if our goal is not surgery. I feel the pain and thought something may be these are not the proper moves. Since I'm trying to prevent a surgery, I should have found a physical therapist to heal the rotator cuff area to possibly prevent the surgery. I have been doing researches for one year now and have postponed the surgery since it's a small tear. This was the only site that divided before from after the surgery.

Thank you for braking down explanation of rotator cuff with terms that are practical. While viewing video sort of did a self-examination and found out several issues coincided with the different pain that you discussed.
Have had pains in my knee and have been getting injections almost three years now. been in and out of physical rehab after a small Stroke, {Tia} with weakness on my left side. My left shoulder pain just came on after grocery shopping and lifting 40lb bag of dog food plus 40 bottles of water along with lots of groceries. It is going on 7-8 months when first mentioned to primary care, took an ultrasound and mri , ex-ray. Plus, doing video armchair exercises. Currently in tai chi.... Was unaware how serious my situation is. Pain is real! thank you for helping.

Very nice explanation of all aspects of rotator cuff problems. My PT person gave me exercises what you said are harmful and my pain got worse. I am gong to wear the shoulder strap and do over the door pulley exercises. That make sense to me . Thanks a lot for making this video. It is very helpful.

You are the best and brightest PT I've ever seen. Thanks so much as I try to navigate my new tear. MANY THANKS!! My pain came overnight and is nearly unbearable. Can't even come close to doing even one of your tests. (AGE 56, runner/biker/weight trainer)

The quality of information is outstanding. Not one of the caregivers visited/consulted provided the quality of information to assist in understanding the injury and correcting the issue. Your professional guidance is missing in the day to day health care. Thank you!

This video has been the ABSOLUTE BEST description to my understanding of my problem!! Many thanks for the information!
I have a massive rotator cuff tear (total separation of 2 muscles and partial tear of another) and have been in physical therapy 1x/week for 7 months. I’m doing all I can to avoid surgery. I’m told my only option is total reverse shoulder surgery which will leave me with very limited mobility.

I'm suffering from it and this is the most, well explained video I've watched. I have the prescription for physio appointment before watching this video and I'm going to make a decision when I get there. I'm also going to see the specialist a month from the time of writing this video. Thank you so much my friend

Very useful information. Thank you! BTW, people who knit a lot can also experience wrist, elbow and shoulder strain, serious stress, and rotator cuff challenges, especially if they haven't been knitting for a year or so. The motion is the result of repetative stress and twisting the joint, potentially thousands of times a day if knitting a sweater, etc.

This is a great presentation of the problem. I injured my shoulder recently and every is telling me don't get surgery unless absolutely necessary. Thank you for explaining the shoulder anatomy and purpose of the cuff so clearly.

So informative. Thank you for this comprehensive and clear explanation. My work however means I don't get to rest my shoulder much so maybe I am destined for lifetime trouble. Thanks anyway because I understand the issue better.

Good video. You explained my symptoms 100% perfectly. As I wait for my dr appts which takes weeks/months to schedule, I will begin my own rehab in the hopes I can avoid any surgery. Thanks you.

Dr. Your teachings for rotator cuff has helped me immensely. I've had pain and limited motion for several years. I'm now lifting my arm up higher each day. I can comb my hair and lift my disabled grandchild without severe pain. Thank you. Blessings.

Awesome to know, thank you! Even with surgery, doctor says 80% mobility. I feel that way now without surgery at 74 with 2 torn ligaments since accident 1 year ago with PT. Plus 6 mos on a sling after surgery. ER doc said no sling…??? Had friend die at the anesthesia table… oh right infections … still researching to determine what is best. God bless you in your openness and optimistic advice.

Listening to this and I'm thinning, on a personal level.. What use is my doctor to me?
Doctors should be held to account.
If i had a doctor like you, i don't think, after seven years and more, my pain would be so brutal.
You guys are showing them up so much.
    Again great video.
    Thank you. ❤

This is great info. I definitely have mild acute left rotator cuff damage from direct blunt trauma to left side onto concrete road while cycling (almost thought I broke both my arm and collarbone...). That was six weeks ago. Has healed enough to where sleeping I toss and turn naturally and end up directly on top of damage. That wakes me up. Noticed that I have automatically adopted the shoulder shrug as a pain-free way to move arm overhead as an alternate sleeping position. Still have minor referred pain down left arm and very very minor numbness. Thanks a bunch.
