Best thing that Three-Legged Zombie has going for it, for me, is its attacking animation in Duelist of the Roses. The skinny zombie just punches the fat one in the stomach, and it throws up on the enemy monster. It's far from the best of this set, but in that regard, it at least has a certain entertainment factor that most of the other cards don't.
I remember this was one of the first "Mighty Kids Meals" McDonalds put out. Those CDs and silver packs are super nostalgic to me, pulling a Millennium Shield was so cool.
If you boost Goddess of Whim with equips (Axe of Despair, United We Stand, Mage Power...) she's usefull, one right coin and you can OTK. Not thaaat good but it's funny, I used that strat in Spirit Caller
It's nice they printed some OCG cards for this that otherwise wouldn't have been printed. There's still a lot that have yet to come to the TCG. A set in the future that prints them would be sick.
Sadly we’ll probably never get them simply because the cards from way back then that haven’t been printed are way too dated now and not enough people would buy them.
I really wish I had more dough when these were out. I only got one pack of this. I would've loved to have pulled Shield or Cosmo Queen. It kind of surprises me Cosmo Queen never appeared in the anime. She seems like she would've been a great ace monster for as opponent at some point. As far as vanilla monsters go, only Blue Eyes really surpassed her. She would've been quite an intimidating boss in the early anime.

Frog the jam was used in frog ftk with ronintoadin and the spell Mass Driver because ronin summons off of “frog” cards to be tributed by Mass Driver for burn damage. However frog the Jam was never a frog, he got an errata for his name to be Slime Toad because he didn’t actually interact with cards like ronintoadin in the ocg. (This is why on old printings of frog cards they had effects that excluded frogthe jam from their effects)
Man they dont make them like they used to. I like these older artworks, nowadays everything is all pretty anime humans and its soooooo boring... I do like whoever did the art for cards like Stegocyber, Trifortresstops, and Prophecy Destroyer though.

Well I wouldn't put frog the jam up there because in of itself was useless and only was used because of a technicalitie due to the wording of the name I would defentiantly put Millennium Shield as 3,000 defense for 1 tribute above it and Cosmo Queen I ran in a spellcaster deck back in 05 over Dark Magician Girl for a few reasons 1 it naturally has 2900 Attack where Dark Magician required all 3 of my Dark Magicians to be in the graveyard. 2. I ran a Kaiser Sea Horse type monster that allowed me to tribute a 2 tribute either dark or spellcaster monster for it so having the most powerful spell caster I could helped me make more use out of that card. 3. I ran 3 copies of the Trap Card that would let me Summon 1 normal type monster in defense mode so Cosmo Queen and Dark Magician both worked with that card where Dark Magician Girl didn't it's been a long time I think the card's name was Soul Resurrection. I also ran a Sorcerer of Dark Magic which Cosmo Queen, Dark Magician of Chaos, Dark Magician, and Dark Magician Girl could help Summon but Cosmo Queen worked better with some of the cards listed above so air ran it over Dark Magician Girl.
Holy crap, Ushi Oni! I ran him in my first deck, a Fiend deck! Man....totally forgot he existed. I remember running Cosmo Queen too, definitely a strong card.
I think lot of the cards we consider bad are from the super early days of the OCG, before tributing was a thing. And the strongest four star monsters being between 1200 and 1400 Attack.
Cosmo Queen was always my favorite high damage card when I first picked up the game. I know someone else already pointed out Goddess of Whim's effect applying to attack points added by card effects, but I would just add that Goddess of Whim can attack even with Gravity Bind on the field.
flying penguin is actually usable with just how much aqua support there is for level 4 vanilla monsters and aqua monsters in general not frog jam but an option for penguin players(kinda)
Swords doesn’t flip your own monsters up, making dark piercing light even more of the same effect as swords but worse. Also you should review McDonald’s pack 2 that shit had zone eater
As someone who played the heck out of the Yu-Gi-Oh video games back in the day, I have so much nostalgia for these cards. I still have the music CDs that came with these from back then xD
Millennium shield is actually the best one from that set for the time. Even early yugioh had pretty good warrior support and how good being level 5 and requiring 1 tribute to stall against summon skull and blue eyes white dragon cannot be understated for that time period.
Funny how common all these cards were in the older Yugioh video games, but I never thought much about how they weren't just in regular sets, at least here in the U.S.A.

I used Flying Penguin in my Peguin Pendulum deck when Pendulums were very first released. That mechanic made even Penguins broken at the time.
