Hey everyone, this is Sassyotto. I'm the seller who sold Ruxin the DDS game. I purchased the game earlier this year from a private seller who I've done a ton of business with. The seal and everything else was identical to my other DDS game copy. All of the info including the weight was disclosed to both buyers before purchasing. Once I got a message from Ruxin that the promo cards were not included, I immediately worked something out with him. That would not be fair to him to spend all that money to get no promos. Unfortunately the seller I purchased from has not responded to my messages, I don't expect them to at this point. But I wrote off the loss, as thats part of doing business sometimes. Thank you Ruxin for being extremely professional through the entire process.

I remember buying 2 copies of the pokemon trading card game in Toys r Us as a kid, and both didnt have the meowth promo card. It was more common than you think with Nintendo games.
Imagine if a Konami Rep saw this and thought: Hey, this would make a good PR Stunt, lets give this guy the Holos he should have gotten
Problem with that is those cards in there are from the 90s not the new reprints
@@ryanweber2536 so? Konami literally has every card. It would be easy to get the cards from them. Just like wizards of the coast prints extras to keep. Anything made in bulk like that is kept by the owner/bosses. You should see the director or arizona iced teas collection of bottles and cans from the 90s, all of the old drinks AND stuff that was never released.

I was watching the other video yesterday about this. I totally thought it was the reseal of the packaging but if that is not the case.
Is it possible to contact Konami after showing this video to get the cards?
I know this game is old and that must be special cards but since it's their company they might have power to do so?
I was confused if you have to contact through nintendo or Konami for this problem.

Avid collector here. I've heard of so many cases where promo cards not being included in the sealed product apparently from factory...
In the past for both NIB DDS I asked the sellers to take the sealed box to a local Radiologist to get the item X-rayed before I purchased. (at my expense + travelling fee)
Its costs about $120 here in NZ so its not much as you can see. The 3 cards come sealed in a thin foil card package and is very easy to confirm the outlines on the X-ray scan which also show the contents. (contrary to belief that aluminum foil blocks X-rays)
All they had to do was take a picture of the x-ray film for my peace of mind.
Also most sellers are usually quite interested in getting their item X-rayed regardless if I purchase their item. (One time i changed my mind after X-ray at my expense due to the condition of the box as one corner was crushed)
It give them peace of mind while also increasing the price of their investment.
Glad you could figure a way out, it's unfortunate that those things can happen sometimes especially with expensive products

I bought this was when I was a kid and it didn’t come with any promo cards either, I was so confused. Seeing you open that reminded me of myself when I was a kid.
For someone interested buying the vintage booster boxes or sealed packets. I would love to know what the weight should be to make sure they have not been resealed or scaled?
Well it's really nice all around that everyone was able to work something one. Kinda doesn't happen as much nowadays, and it's really hard to know for sure with sealed product because factory error and other things out of your control can happen. But it's really nice to see something was worked out. I'm glad your guys relationship hadn't ended because of something that's most likely out of either of your guys control. I had the same problem when I bought Pokemon Heart Gold back in the day when it came out. It was supposed to come with a Pokewalker, but it didn't and I bought it in store. Shit happens, man. Not everyone's out there to scam others.

I don't know the details as to why this issue took place, but when I received my copy as a gift back in the days, it was also missing the promo cards in it.
My parent bought it a few weeks before giving it to me as a gift, and when we returned to Toys R Us the following day they gave it to me to exchange it for another copy since it was not complete, the copies they had in stock only had the second batch of promos (the one with Acid Trap Hole).
My assumption is, when they did the first run of the game with the first batch of promos (Exodia, BEWD and DM), they ran out of promo cards and just shipped copies of the games without them. And those copies of the game were most likely made during the time they were transitioning between the first batch of promo to the second batch since the second batch was now included in the game with the different box art on the back. But this is just an assumption I have.
Yeah, I grew up with this game and i saw this happen MULTIPLE times as a kid. I had friends that didnt get the cards as well. I'm sure if you got in contact with Konami they could clarify since they should 100% know about it happening.

As someone who collects sealed Game Boy, I'm almost 100% certain that was not a reseal. So it's no wonder you thought it was legit - it probably was. If you can recall, when you opened the top flap of the box, did it feel like it had been opened? Usually with cardboard flaps that haven't been lifted yet, it has a nice subtle crack.
Considering there are various accounts of people claiming theirs didn't have cards either, it would make perfect sense (unfortunately). Also I'm not sure how Konami dealt with inserting the cards into the Game Boy boxes. If the cards were sorted separately than the regular inserts, it would explain why your copy had those but not the cards. I would assume Konami would have their cards made in a completely separate factory, then shipped over to the Nintendo factory that would then sort them. So if someone says it's sus that "only the cards are missing", there's a plausible explanation.
I work in a plant packaging books of scratch tickets, and we package thousands of books every single shift. Such an interesting spot for the seal.
Our machines package the scratch ticket books with an "End Seal" which is essentially a knife that comes down on the N/S ends of the books. The side seal will seal the west side of the book. Obviously two different industries, I'm just curious what they used to seal the games like that, with this "H" seal.
Damn, it really was a big time mishaps in this, but feels bad for Sassyotto for the fact selling something a sealed game without remotely knowing how it turned unnexpectively bad.
I still have my doubts that is a re-sealed game, if that would be the case, then the box may have more crease, blemishes, and what fort. Really debatable.
See people, this is why is important to record whatever you open, buy and pack and stuff.

Man that’s crazy tho , for it to be like a factory error, in my head I would have thought it was a reseal , but when you showed the factory seal liner , wow , cuz that would have been a vary epic to see thos DDS cards. That’s good that everyone worked it out on what happened tho but wow that’s a big hit on the wallet on that.

I remember back when Blockbuster was around, they had sealed display products. So it couldn’t been a displayed sealed product.
I still have this game when it came out. The front sticker came off a long time ago.
As a child, my dad purchased this for me from a store, maybe it was Sears. But I also did not get any promos with my game, like others have said.

This is one of the problems of how insanely expensive original series cards have become. If it was a factory error, back in the day not many would have been ruined just by missing the promos. But thats the case now. Weighing it beforehand seems the best lesson from this whole episode.

Pokemon is going through a similar boom right now. Even older Japanese stuff is going through the roof despite originally being a third of the price of their English counterpart prior to lockdown.
Factory error is not acceptable
When i was a kid, a friend of mine got a sealed copy of "reshef of destruction" from his parents without any cards. Obviously not the same product but factory errors definitely can happen from Konami's side. Great move from you to give the seller a shoutout, i appreciate that.

You acquired the game via trade; from your friend who got/partially bought it from Sassyotto. In addition, the weight differed, you got the lower weight game (3.060). While the heavier one with the cards is (3.270). Continuing back with your friend, he had about $1750 left to pay. You agreed to send your PSA 10 Guardian Iatos for $2500 in trade-in value. But since you guys got deals you went lower On the Iatos, and you were going to pay the rest to Sassyotto on Ebay (the $1750 your buddy had leftover). Adding to it further, you were going to pay $2250 to the guy who got your Iatos. This was a three-way (Giggity) trade, so the refund was problematic. Anyways Sassyotto gave you some store credit ($1750). Then you and the guy undid the Iatos trade. Then he got his DD cards sent back from their purchase or trade...something like that which meant that Sassyotto took the hit as a (re)seller. Then you (Ruxin34) told Sassyotto to send you a case of gold, 2 December boxes with the collecter's rares, and pay him some more money so he wouldn't take as much of a bigger loss. From there you decided to promote his eBay, due to his loss so he could get some cash due to his loss. Anyways you're refunded and the dark duel stories case is closed.

My mom bought me this game at Kmart when I was 9 and mine was also missing the promo cards! I remember because my friend got it too and his had cards and I just remember feeling sad and my mom was like at least you got the game(didn't care as much as me she just thought it's only cards)

I remember picking up this game when I went to pickup my preorder copy of Pokémon Ruby from Electric Boutique at the mall, my sealed copy of DDS didn't include any promos either, I went back and told the same employee and he let me exchange it, he asked me to open it in front of him and this new copy did contain the cards. 😄
I remember as a kid getting Duelist of Roses on PS2 brand new on launch day and it didn't have the magnet warriors in I went to the store and they said I had to contact Konami. I was 7 at the time and didn't know how and my parents wouldn't. Not enough of these games are opened regularly due to being so rare so we dont have much info but from my memories it was a fairly common error

@@Dan-ov7th our local card shop literally did this, they would remove the cards, re-package the game and sell them for like 10 dollars, I remember buying a copy as a kid, it was Japanese but had english options. They did not lie about them though, they were labeled as missing the cards

I actually believed it's a factory error because the sealed looks legit and the other videos that unboxing the same product also had the same "H sealed". But regardless what happens, i'm glad everything is ok and we can move on..

love how in both videos you say 3.06 as some kind of unit of measurement, and then even telling us in this video that if we ever get a copy of DDS to make sure it is 3.27 and not 3.06 of some mystery unit. Is this the new ruxin unit of yu gi oh weight measurement?

I heard about factory error boxes at time of release. Mine was fine, it had cards inside, though later were stolen few months later. That sucked. They weren't as valuable then as they are today.

The only thing I can think of is that this is a re release or later copy of the game and Konami stopped putting the cards inside after the original release just my theory. Really nice of you to give a shout-out to dude after taking a loss like that.
