Hey Hype! I've found your channel, great review on the PRC-152 man. I'm thinking of buying a couple of these with the KDU at some point. Have you come across the Chinese version of the C420 PAPR? I have found a company called Sanvol on Alibaba with it listed for £150, but will not sell it as it is a military technology apparently. They call is the SR20. Cheers & all the best
Many thanks! Unfortunately, I have not had any experience with that C420 clone and will not be able to vouch for it. However, it should be functional and durable enough for industrial applications or casual LARPing as these units do have to pass state safety, functionality and durability tests to be marketed as labor safety products.
@@hypemilitaria6447 Thanks for replying, I'm sure it'll be fine for use. I know it uses a different fan set-up. I've been trying to obtain one for 2 years, painful. Looking at the new video now on the PRC-152, Cheers
These are basically a 50 dollar Baofeng Radio in an aluminum shell for 350 bucks. You all are getting ripped off 9 ways to Sunday. They do not operate in the 800 mhz range. There is NO IP waterproofing on these radios no matter what the ebay auction says. No seller can produce a rating spec sheet or certification (I know, I've asked pretty much all of them), they do break easily if you drop them, I saw this happen and they do NOT transmit at 10 or 15W as advertised.
Awesome video, I might have to get one of these, so can this connect to any AM frequency within range?
Thanks a lot! The AM mode only covers airband, but it can connect to any FM in the typical VHF, 1.25m and UHF range
@@hypemilitaria6447 so if understand right , if try to listen eg. 360.000 MHZ is possible to switch from FMN modulation to AM, correct ?
@@themisfrs Unfortunately, the AM mode only covers civilian airband. Anything else is FM only.
could you do a tutorial on this radio how to program to a FM radio station so I can listen to music on the PRC-152 cheers
Ah, you simply need to press enter, then 4 on the keypad to enter FM radio mode. To adjust the frequency, simply use the left and right arrow keys.
@@hypemilitaria6447 cheers mate bring on more tuitions
can this be done with a prc 148
@@zackdrew3559 If it has airband Rx mode, yup!
@ hmm not sure it’s a tri prc 148

Does it operate in the 800mhz range?
I think you're looking for an Motorola XTS2500 and probably P-25(?) trunking.
Where did you get the radio?
From taobao. TRI is still making and selling these radios.

Yup, albeit that's not the point of this radio; this is airsoft operator drip. If you actually want raw performance, you'd be looking elsewhere.
@@hypemilitaria6447 Yeah, thats true, not the point of the radio. I looked at it from a different perspective, I'd like to dial back my comment 🙂
It’s a BaoFeng on steroids. Metal with rubber sealing
Im planning to pick up a TCA version and seeing how many harris products this and the tri would be compatible with
Tha that's terrible pick up ? 300 bucks fir a Chinese copy of Harris 152
It’s a flex
