As our special guest Mick Dover shares the story of his childhood stained with abuse from members of the very church he was brainwashed into believing must be accommodated and respected at all costs. The families that make up the hierarchy of the PBCC in Melbourne, Australia- the Bakers, McAlpin, Cox, Gadsden, Grace, Joyce, John, Jensen, Nipper, Hales, Dover and the list goes on had best sit up and listen as Mick explains the complete lack of safeguarding and cover-up of every kind of abuse imaginable. A 7 year old child thrown through a metal reinforced glass shower door because he walked in on his father & another spinster from the PBCC in bed together. Late night priestly visits that turn into a big drinking conversation, the story so bone-chilling and yet the members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church had the audacity to attempt to recruit Mick & Debbie to rejoin the church in what appears to be an attempt to further keep a lid on the abuse. How many more victims might there be of this horrendous childhood rape, sexual trauma, physical abuse, and religious coercive brainwashing?

20 minutes in and I am sorely hurting for this fellow. His agony is palpable. Lord give him strength, I pray.
This is beyond cruelty, it is absolute evil. Most of us can’t comprehend the depravity, covered only by a very thin veil of respectability and wealth. PBCC not only abuse, they rip and tear until they get compliance.

Mick, this is one of the rawest episodes I have watched. Your emotions are palpable and I witness my wife feeling these same emotions every day.

Basically when families don't genuinely care about each other. And when saving face for prideful needs of oneself matters far more to people than to have empathy for another person who'd ended up getting the rough end of the deal. I feel i can really relate to the kind of hurt that this feeling can create. Life becomes far more like the game monopoly. And family will happily turn turncoat on you, even leave you for dead, while forging an alliance with others who'll happily abuse you most of all by forgetting all about you as well, and leave you for dead as well too, all the while its those allied game players main goal of winning the gameplay by accumulation of material wealth. And often the hurt never stops or even ceases from being repeated so raw with accumulated layer upon layer of hurt, over again and again, a bit like being stuck in ground hog day as depicted in the movie directed by Harold Ramis year 1993, unless perhaps you'd finally have had put up with it repeating over and over again for so long that the numbers of repeated episode of hurt would finally sink in enough and get through to teaching you that in fact nothing will ever be likely to change course at all, ever

If light is the best disinfectant, why is there no natural light in their church’s? As we all know, when the artificial light is turned off, their Meeting Halls are filled with utter darkness!

Wow I can't remember Mick but there are many of the brethren names I do remember in all the years I was growing up I didn't know any of this was Mick's father Allan? They wanted me to go and work the Dover's but my mother wouldn't let me.
