Suleiman the magnificent ruled at the peak the most splendid era of the Ottoman empire so he spared no expenses, he had the Topkapi palace expanded to reflex the wealth and power of his empire and of course with Hurrem Sultan his wife by his side...an Ottoman ruler and his love for a slave girl who became his legal wife and his influential confidence.
Unlike most of the European castles which were dark, damped and full of tapestries (no doubt collecting dust). The palace is airy and bright, no need to turn on the lights anywhere, just absolutely beautiful place fit for Suleiman the Magnificent and Hurrem Sultan...

Imagine the architects more then 500 years ago, planing all this... imagine the workers building it... slaves, princes/princesses, sultans, delegates, living, laughing, crying, dying... in there... and now YOU can go in there... just amazing... I love historical places. Thank you for this!

Thank you for your comment and it was exactly how how I felt when I suddenly saw the German visitor as I was all by myself contemplating the beauty in front of me and traveling back in time. If I remember correctly the only thing that is closed is the museum on Tuesday. Make sure you have plenty of time as it took me 4 hours to see most of the palace once inside. Enjoy when you’re there 😉

Milli saraylar ve benzeri yerlerin iç mekanlarinda film/dizi cekilemez. Yasaktir. Öyle olsa böyle kalmaz, simdiye kadar harap olurdu.
Dizi ve filmlerde aslina uygun platolar kuruluyor ve öyle cekiliyor.

As far as I know it is not reconstructed perhaps polished and clean but the chamber is as beautiful as you could see in the video. I was in awed when I walked into the chamber. The tiles were incredibly beautiful.

The stones you call tiles are tile art. they are all handmade decorations. The magnificent century series was not filmed in this palace, they built and shot rooms similar to the rooms of this palace.
Nikdy by som tam nešla je to hnus ,ked si predstavim koľko tam bolo utrpenia ,intrig ,Sultan len bojovať hnus ako Hitler chcel ovládnuť cely svet .
