They have a set salary and all the money made off of reruns and merchandise belong to the studio they work for. And second, I meant why wasn't I invited to be in the audience; by your logic, you're not allowed to watch a play unless you're an iconic, renowned playwright that's remembered for the ages.

Matt Lucas I do believe so. He is on the same leagues as the men and women in this panel
+The One and Only C. R. Martin to me the show felt more generic .I mean gumball and Darwin .To be feel it felt more inspired from the Simpsons .I'm still glad he's working on animation
Matt Lucas I won't say you're wrong for making that comparison; Gumball has borrowed several comedy tropes as popularized by many other similar series. In season one they were played straight, but season two and onwards give them very curious and interesting spins that you might not even recognize them at all.
Going by that logic, that also means the shows featured in the panel are also generic, seeing as they borrow tropes that are commonplace in their respective genres and are unique in the sense of their individual interpretations of them. Steven Universe and its use of modern and high fantasy tropes, Gravity Falls and supernatural and sci-fi tropes, The Powerpuff Girls and superhero tropes, etc.

Wow Craig saying that the young animators paved the way for his new ideas really got me. It's crazy to think that you can have an influence on someone that influenced you as a child. Also really shows how humble and devoted Craig is to animation in general to have that kind of mindset.
Seeing Craig McKracken onstage makes me want to cry. It's a shame that his latest show (Wonder over yonder) was cancelled.

I've always loved the idea of animation, but Butch Hartman is the reason why I love cartoons and drawing. I'm working hard right now on my own cartoons and Mr.Hartman is the reason why I do it and thats what I tell people who think it's a far fetched dream. My goal in life is to work with him someday . I have watched everything that all of these people have made and have looked up to all of them since such a young age. I love each and every character and respect all of their shows so so much. Their writing is so witty, beautifully done, and on spot no matter what they're working on. They're genius artists and as a young artist, writer, fangirl, and aspiring animator this made me so so happy! All of you are so awesome and wonderful people in general! It seems like 90s and 00s Cartoonists are somehow all interconnected, namely Butch Hartman, Craig McCracken, Seth McFarlane and Stephen Hillenburg. Either by living near each other, knowing each other personally, working on each others' shows, what have you, it seems this connectivity of great minds gives a feeling that late 90s and 00s cartoons are more special and personal.

I'm planning on being an animator and seeing this helps me get an idea of what it's like to be an animator, what's the process of creating and having a show aired on TV from different points of views from different animators. This have encouraged me to create stories while having fun at the same time.

I just got to watching this and I learned so much about animation and how an original series might get green lit. I'm still in high school but I would love to make my own cartoon some day, and watching this helped me to see how someone might get started. All of you guys are such inspiration and I did grow up watching Foster's, Powerpuff, Danny Phantom, Fairly Odd Parents, and etc and I still watch so many cartoons now and what not. The 5 of you are just such big inspirations and so I'm going to strive to do the type of things you were able to accomplish. And just thank you to all of you ^-^

i'm gonna be honest, i am a young artist in the 7th grade.. and everyone on this panel makes me happy.. i have watched danny phantom, power puff girls, fairly odd parents, and fosters home for imaginary friends since i was a little child. gravity falls and steven universe made me happy as i watched those. every single artist on this panel is my role model. i want to be an animator, or a graphic designer. when i watched this, it gave me more hope to get into a college and work at a studio.
