Mckraken didn't have any take in this (no duh) but the reason he couldn't is because he cut his tie with CN when the Real life action started to become a thing in CN and so he made a contract with Disney. since he has a contract with them, he can't go back to CN and take part in any new episodes of the PPG
Newvi ㅤ I am pretty mad that Craig Mckraken made the contract with Disney and didn't come back to Cartoon Network and I love the original Power Puff Girls better than the reboot and we'll always love the original

They also did this for Samurai Jack, having Mako (Aku) narrate the special feature in a similar fashion. It especially helps for younger viewers to stay engaged, since most of these things don’t usually interest them.
This makes the reboot hurt so much worse.

the old cast were professionals....tara e.g. and cavadini are master talents...the new voice cast are to young and weak....the voices of the og main characters made the series stand out...otherwise it would have been another generic action show...

Huge respect to Craig McCracken, Genndy Tartakovsky, the voice talent, and the entire team! This is a great documentary. I especially loved Craig's description of the Gangrene Gang: "What if Big Daddy Roth designed Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids?"
Watching this documentary, honest and prepared for adults, as an adult, about a show I enjoyed as a child is a real treat. I get to appreciate every aspect of the show at various points in my life.

Haha. Tom Kenny's commentary is so damn sharp and funny. Reminds me of why the earlier episodes of Spongebob were so good.
Yep, those were the days. I'll never understand why they got him to change his Spongebob voice to that high pitch, obnoxious imbecilic way of speaking after the first 3 or so seasons. The writing got way worse too. I'm guessing it had to do with Stephen Hillenburg leaving the show.

Its amazing how much Tara's voice has changed since her role as bubbles because now her voice is so raspy and mature.
She is 50 years old by now and she can be considered lucky that she didn't burned down her vocal chords and completely lost the ability to even speak with her forced high pitched VOs she did for decades.

Tom Kenny is great and all but i think he puts a little too much passion as the narrator. There's times i feel the narrator guy should chill out and/or not be so overreacting. I'm not saying it's bad or anything i just feel that its one of those out of my control things. Besides i also read that in ppg 2016, the narrator stops being a part of the show after season 2.
There's no way that Cartoon Network would put so much faith into a new TV series like this nowadays. If this happened years later there's no way it would get past it's first 2 pilots.
Nobody wants to take a chance anymore.. There are so many old properties now that it's less of a risk to reboot a series than to give a new series a chance.
Imagine all the incredible cartoons they pass on every year.

Out of all the Creative decisions, the thing that earned my respect was how honest he was about the movie reviews.
You usually don’t see people take criticism so causally well and slip it under the rug instead.
Tom Kenny's narration is perfect.
"Tom you're out of the job", ends up being the only one out of the lot to return to the new series...

I know right? What I love the most about it is how both Craig and Genndy helped with each other's shows. Craig helped with Dexter, and Genndy helped with Powerpuff
that's the thing...when good shows get popular the good talented writers animators and voices all leave...what made the show good was having a bunch of super talented people work together on this one thing...if you separate them whatever they do wont be as good..

1:26 The fanatism for Underdog Craig had as a little kid would later inspire him to have two of his child characters referencing that cartoon when posing as superheroes. When PPG's Bubbles changes her heroic identity to Harmony Bunny, her catchphrase is a reference to Underdog's "hip hip hip and away I go!", only with "hop" instead of "hip". That, and Kid Cosmic has "Have no fear! Kid Cosmic is here!" as a catchphrase; an obvious reference to Underdog's "There's no need to fear...!".
Craig McCracken and Lauren Faust are like a second mother and father of the Powerpuff Girls.
Craig is one of best animator/creators along with Genndy. Ah 90's - 07 Nick and CN were the peak of many late 80's/90's children.

EG Daily and Tara Strong must've been excited to do this show due to the fact that they voiced Tommy and Dil Pickles respectively on the Rugrats so this just made them create even more memories

I believe the show would run shorter on nick
The problem with Nick is that they tend to seize all of the creative control over their shows, basically leaving the actual creators with pretty much nothing. This is why when Danny Antonucci pitched ED, EDD N EDDY to both Nick and CN, he ultimately went with CN, because they were willing to let he and his team do what they wanted, whereas Nick wanted to call all the shots.
I've been in love with the Powerpuff Girls since I first saw their show.
I did not expect to watch this whole thing. Damn this was interesting.

I'm a guy and I'm not ashamed to admit that I loved this show and the movie when I was a kid. I miss the late 90s/early 2000s so much.
despite its name and appearance this show was not a girly show :P far from it. for me when i was a kid it was a show i often watched alone cause i thought it was a girls show at first.
