I'm not the technical ear guy. However, I recognized that as much endurance is necessary for just regular drumming, that much more is necessary for extreme/death drumming.
I'll never forget those live, raw drumcams (with soundboard audio I believe) from some Faceless show in Germany where Lyle is just 100% in flow and grooving. And then (2009ish youtube) someone made a video showcasing how this was an example of demonic possession lmao and highlighted various aspects of Lyle's posture and presence that no, didn't indicate hours and hours of dedication and practice to achieve a high level of facility on an instrument... no no no he was demon possessed lmaoooo
From 4:29 onwards what you said about how he effortlessly cycles through the subdivisions so smoothly and with perfect execution too, and the way he's able to hit speeds that cleanly on the speedy double bass sections is beyond me, Alex rudinger is easily one of the best drummers I've come across over the years. Oh and he's ambidextrous.. ffs 😂
Mate I don't understand his technique for such clean and fast double bass execution? It's like neither slide or heel toe y'know what I mean? He's like sorta just created his own technique? Absolutley mind boggling man!
This is an underrated drummer. His fast basses and blast beats are so fluid and musical. I don't know enough from my 25 years of drumming to complement all the things he does amazingly!
Unbefuckinleaveable. I'm not a drummer I play guitar. The way he accentuates the guitar player is off the charts. Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Wow, just wow.🐙
I'm currently trying to learn this song and other bits of Planetary Duality. Lately I feel I've made a lot of progress on my blasts and incorporating open-handed left-hand lead playing. A month ago I upped the spring tension on my kick pedal and started wearing light running shoes. I've always felt more comfortable in socks but since I don't use a kick trigger at these kind of tempos you need all the help you can get with pedal travel/momentum! Not to mention the prep I need for a practice session in terms of calories!!! man it's a workout... All the respect in the world for these guys capable of this material, Alex is very inspiring to me since he's also self taught like I am.
First time hearing this monster playing drums. I am a drummer who incorporates a lot of what he does, just not ever in a song. This was a drummers delight. I am impressed and that's hard to do. Great chops. Insane speed. Phenomenal technique. Professional and personal RESPECTED jealousy. Thank you for not letting me grow old.

He as in Alex? I recall him sitting at George's kit in a pic and I asked him if he shredded it. He said he just kinda hit a few things and that was it haha
My brother and I have been playing in bands with eachother for over the last decade, and one year we went to see Children Of Bodom, they had a band tagging along called Threat Signal, and Alex was their drummer at the time, my brother was already a pretty damn solid drummer, but the entire time watching this guy live was practically screaming "HOW? HOW IS THIS FUCKING POSSIBLE?!"
I would HIGHLY recommend watching Lyle Cooper play one of the tracks off of the Planetary Duality album. He's the guy that actually wrote the drums and played them during that time period. He was so uncanny to watch and the drum parts he wrote were so insane that there were multiple videos from crazy christians using videos of Lyle playing as "proof" that demon posession is real. Im not even kidding. Alex nails it perfectly of course but if you wanna see "not human" you owe it to yourself to watch Lyle play it. Here's a good one but you can just search for "Lyle Cooper The Faceless" to find whatever song. th-cam.com/video/6jLXxqj8pso/w-d-xo.html

Good to see people from other walks of life (lol) getting their jaws dropped by what we've been listening and watching for a long time.
I'm not the technical ear guy. However, I recognized that as much endurance is necessary for just regular drumming, that much more is necessary for extreme/death drumming.
Civilians?? LOL!
Shoutout to Lyle Cooper
True genius behind the drum composition in this entire album
Fo sure
I'll never forget those live, raw drumcams (with soundboard audio I believe) from some Faceless show in Germany where Lyle is just 100% in flow and grooving. And then (2009ish youtube) someone made a video showcasing how this was an example of demonic possession lmao and highlighted various aspects of Lyle's posture and presence that no, didn't indicate hours and hours of dedication and practice to achieve a high level of facility on an instrument... no no no he was demon possessed lmaoooo
His work with Intronaut is amazing
I Think this might be some of the most beautiful things I have ever seen !.... god he is good !
Judging by the direction these reactions are going, I can feel Sebastian Lanser is coming in a few weeks.
God, I hope so. Lanser is my personal favorite drummer of all time.
He’s drummatically exceptional!
Oh and he's ambidextrous.. ffs 😂
He's a freak Liam!
As a fellow guitarist, I absolutely concur doc.
Wow. This is a huge undertaking!
Man you need to check your aussie mate, Dan Presland from NeObliviscaris.

Thanks for watching!
I feel the same way you do about this man. Literal god amongst men. You’re reactions are priceless and I enjoyed the hell out of this one ☝️need to see more of you’re reactions from this drummers hammering of the thunders and whipping of the Lightning’s!
Hey. I enjoy your videos very much, but given that most of the drummers you cover are metal which is relatively new to you maybe you'd focus a little bit on the songwriting and the drums' place in the overall structure of the song? As a teacher I assume you've studied music theory and I would love to hear your opinion from that point of view. All the best and greetings from Poland
@@R1ckDeckard Hmm. New series? I like it!
Please react to Hannes Grossmann - Alkaloid
Alter magnitude
Ive been a bass player for 30 years and i get that same feeling whenever i watch one of Charles Bertound
.. this guy is so fkn sick
Hans Grossman playing anything from Necrophagist is insane, hope you get around to him!
Hans is on my list!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Can't wait! Another suggestion, if you're into broader percussion, is Gavin Harrison's 'Cymbal Song', be interested to know what you made of it and if you would have a crack at making one yourself?
*Hannes
I play no instruments and I'm watching this guy absolutely slay the drums. How does one write drum music? This is melting my brain!
You're watching one of the best! Mind blowing
First video I saw of Alex Rudinger's playing abilities was a cover he did on Mario Kart 64 menu theme song. My mind was blown back then. The guy is a monster. I higly recomend you all to watch it.
Sounds great Lucas!
One of my top 5 in the world for sure, hes insane.
Love that shirt!! Respect.
Gracias Rodrigo!
What the hell did i just watch??? That was the greatest display of drum mastery on youtube. Period
Absolutely mental
Sebastian Lanser playthrough of "Diluvium" one of the best🤘
"That was a lot to take in" hahahaha. You're the best, Andy!
LOL Lyle
I would love to see him on a simple kit to see what he can come up with, that would be so fun to watch!
Please leave my depression at, I can't afford his drum set so I can't practice to get on his level. I don't need that amount of flexing.
Yeah make him play a hello kitty kit. Id love to watch that
This is fucking awesome bro.. genuinely put a huge smile on my face
GREAT!
If only he know about George Kolias. That dude is actually extraterrestrial.
Lord Marco too
Yeah George and Frost are hand down my favorites.
He as in Alex? I recall him sitting at George's kit in a pic and I asked him if he shredded it. He said he just kinda hit a few things and that was it haha
George is sometimes all speed, no substance.
David Diepold es de esa onda tambien!!!
He is a absolute monster. 💯 loved his work in the faces and whitechapel.
You should review Alex pelletier from the band Despised Icon . Either the song light speed or unbreakable as they have great videos !
mvp would be a good one too
If he's going to do anything by despised icon...
Silver plated advocate, the sunset will never charm us, or in the arms of perdition
OH MY............ UNBELIEVABLE
THANKS FOR THE REACTION
You should react to Kevin Paradis! Absolute monster on the drums, one of the fastest and cleanest drummer I’ve ever seen...
Speechless! Absolutely mind blowing and talent shattering! I'm going to break all my drum sticks immediately.
perfect T shirt to be wearing "No Entiendo" LOL *Yo Tampoco* SPEECHLESS
JAJA!
arguably the most impressive drumming i've ever seen\heard ever.
if hes not human than i would love to know what you think about chris turner
My brother and I have been playing in bands with eachother for over the last decade, and one year we went to see Children Of Bodom, they had a band tagging along called Threat Signal, and Alex was their drummer at the time, my brother was already a pretty damn solid drummer, but the entire time watching this guy live was practically screaming "HOW? HOW IS THIS FUCKING POSSIBLE?!"
Lyle Cooper insane drum composer.... Rudi did amazing to cover this 👍
To keep all of those arrangements in your head and at that level... 😳
Right!?
Bros cymbal work!... 🔥💥💨
Cannot recommend Flo Mounier of Cryptopsy enough. Near 30 years he's been doing it and has only ever impressed me time and again.
I love that you love the metal. That dude was out of control
