I must have watched that Xenochrist video like 10 times in a row when i first found it! Alex is probably in my top 3 all time drummers, an absolute beast.
@@amjan Yes i do and i have listened to the original a bunch of times, but imho Alex is just some kind of magical beast who pulls that shit off like no one else.
Lyle is a very sublime drummer between his talent and his effort. He seems so relaxed comparatively, but Alex's playing is so damn clean and even between strokes. Part of that is his attention to his production. Love them both.

Technically yeah, because he did have a handful of lessons by Travis, but if ole' Rudi himself doesn't consider himself a "student" of Travis not sure I would either. Cheers!

@@BurnTheNuance Oh that's interesting! I always thought he actually studied with him. I've met him 2 or 3 times now but for some reason I guess I never got around to asking about that. Good to know 🤔Thanks 👍
That guy Alex Rudinger is not only very technically skilled, but also very musical. Even in weird time signatures he manages to keep a nice groove and overall feel to a song.
Got to see both Alex Rudinger and Lyle Cooper play in the same night some years ago when The Faceless, Revocation and The HAARP Machine were touring together. What a night that was
Tried quite a few times and failed. I just dont think he is that well known with my fellow metalheads here. Unlikely to get through with the new patreon system. Dead Oceans, Extinguished Light, Omens, Everything is Fire, Withered & Obsolete etc. etc. I even posted links to some good videos before.
@@Blackerer I'm tempted to go Patreon to get him through. Jamie is on a whole other level to a lot of these drummers who are great, but what Jamie does is alien.
@@TheTrveMothlord I AM going to go to Patreon to recommend Jamie. I also agree he's on a whole other level, but Ulcerate is on a whole other level to most current DM bands in general. @@jonathanhenderson9422 I actually think the material post Everything Is Fire is drum wise when Jamie really found his own. Destroyers being his more atmosoheric heavy work. Otherwise there are the studio montage clips? My fave song is cold becoming but I know Garret seems to want to watch videos with clearer audio vs raw camera. Agree on all of what you've said though.
@@TheTrveMothlord I think a big part of why I love EIF is simply that that was the first Ulcerate I heard that blew my mind. I do agree Jamie has gotten even better since then, but picking a single song to recommend is tough!
