1:40 I dont know, maybe to actually put the original vision of the Mangaka in animation? Essential you should be consistent to the source as possible unless you have an superior method and reasoning behind it, or else its basically just filler episode materials going in conflict with the intended source material. 2:37 Its not about stopping at frames if the sequence of animation turns out bad (low details, a lot of perspective errors, proportion mistakes all over the place), which we know is due to limitation and time. What matters Is keeping things consistent and knowing when to break the rules. Even stylized art and some of the greatest stuff ever made follows rules of principle which has nothing with being "original". If the issue is "samey effect" then you can say the same about animes trying to be pretentious and "artsy". What matters in the end is the execution, and In the end every animators know the anime industry is just a job (important job) and not something you are putting in the art museum.
1. An adaptation while yes has to follow most of what the intended vision of the source material was, eventually some scenes will just inevitably be worse versions of the source material, coming up with creative compisitions, can avoid that, as for detail, "lack of detail" is a very loaded term as it implies that any lack of detail is bad when animators would disagree with you, using less line work doesn't constitute any less skill nor is it a worse approach as less lines to draw means more different drawings you can focus on which produces more movement, changing something from the source material is only that bad when it completely alters the story, jjk 16 and 17 having tons of added scenes doesn't change the course or impact of its story for example. 2. Consistency and inconsistency to an extent are both valid creative choices, however, it's all about *CONTEXT* , a scene can look "messy" and still have its appeal, if a scene looks more abstract and hard to understand, that's usually the point, if a scene looks grounded and on model, that is the point, going back to jjk, there's no point where any normal human in the univers of jjk could understand Mahoraga and Sukuna, so that should reflect in the animation, we are viewing this in the lense of a normal person looking at 2 incomprehensible gods destroying a city, of course to us it should look abstract and not easy to understand, in conclusion, a scene being having very different stylization or low detail isn't bad, it's fine to have a preference but to say everything needs to be followed by the source material isn't true, at all.
And yeah, that Kaiju N° 8 characters designs looks ¿weird?, i don't say bland or basic, like solo leveling, but at the same time they are not appealing, but the animation is good and the story seems basic but interesting.

@@cwega2463 One piece doesn't have a good schedule. Just the biggest animation studio of Japan and it's infinite wealth (as for now, Chansard is the most paid in-house animator in Japan, with an over 100K annual wage)
@@lorenzorizzi864 i know. i never said Toei was a perfect studio to work for in terms of in house animators. they’re certainly better than MAPPA but still not amazing. but they give incredible amounts of support to freelance workers. also their is a reason why Chansard has literally signed up to be a full time Toei worker for the upcoming year, and worked as a temporary full time member last year. the conditions are just better. but overall, one piece does have a better schedule than your typical weekly series, and most seasonal shows. it may not be Mob Psycho levels of perfect schedule, but it’s not MAPPA bad. if MAPPA is a 1 and Mob is a 10; One Piece overall would be about a 7 or 8.
@@lorenzorizzi864 The schedule is more stable than most productions these days. It's not the best but it's really not bad either. But most staff members that work on One Piece's anime get a lot more freedom with their work then a lot of other productions, and they have the time to do their work. So even if there's episodes that do have rough productions (few and far between), there's always some episodes that have a lot of time. It's not entirely because of the studio or popularity as you bring up.
8:19 Aren't you the same guy who was mocking people who liked Bleach TYBW lightning and composting. What happened between then and now. Are you Gigguk now doing a complete 180 of your opinion.
That's not the point the point with the actual lighting is that there's a lot of red hue's which is a color that can definitely ruin the clarity of a scene, next his complaint for the composite was the fact what it looked too much and didn't match what the foreground visual style was going for, the composite also had a way of obscuring the animation itself rather than working with it like the case with fate or demon slayer, he never said the show looked bad, just that it was overrated and not movie quality like bleach fans suggest.
@@itapproaches3484 That isn't my point. But that guy literally straight up mocked majority fans who liked that by saying that those who like it like staring in a light bulb. And in this video he's pretending (pun intended) and trying to take the high moral ground by trying to show himself as someone who appreciates everything. But at the end of the day he's just a liar. No bleach fan said cour 2 was movie quality.
@AnitaSingh-sq7ov He mocked the fans who get overly offended and call everyone "haters" whenever the show is criticized, I'm sorry but the vast majority of bleach fans claim that tybw is absolutely perfect when it comes to animation, of course I'm exaggerating, but the point still stands, in case like bleach it isn't a point of preference entirely, the show is well animated and competent but is heavily overrated
I love the way you juggle your words to sneak your way in and out on slandering multiple creative works, then put yourself on a moral high ground and create a video about "Creative Freedom." 😭 Like, he's the type of guy to diss your mom in front of the class, then tells you to respect other people's personal opinion and reminds you about what "criticism" is. 💀 Lmao, thank you this really made my day! 😂
Man i recall this guy in Mal forum commenting that CSM's Anime was Soulless, and i was like, WTF man? are we seeing the same show? you can dislike the director's vision, but CSM was everything but soulless.
This is my personal opinion, but I still think the way chainsaw man was directed was the wrong choice. I feel like what was good about the source material, was that through the chaos and craziness that the manga provides, there was an underlying, subtle depth to it that gave it substance. In the anime, that sublety is thrown out the window and makes the show seem much more shallow in comparison, while not capitilizing on what made the manga fun and crazy.
It was modeled after the direction of live action western films which inspire the mangaka of Chainsaw Man, Fujimoto. It doesn't get more fitting than that, Chainsaw S1 man is what Chainsaw Man S1 should have looked like.
@@spookytown7963 I still don't get how this is relevant at all. The source material is a manga first of all, and secondly they still couldve added cinema references without the show being directed that specific way. I know everyone gushes over scenes like aki brushing his teeth but I don't think they added anything to the show
Speaking of creativity, i hate to say it but its only japan and well developed countries who can afford creativity. India is too busy earning their daily bread and butter and only has shitty movies and shows with the same formulaic approach which is opposite to japans uniqueness. Just felt like i had to say this
Anything that doesn't look like the "seasonal isekai with a twist with default color/comp" I count as creative And one would think that will be easy, but man was it hard for 80% of new shows to not look like that...
One thing this video lacks is this question: when can we criticize a show’s artistic vision/style? If we have ways of pointing out when something is good, we should be able to point when something is bad. It cant always just be preference. A good opportunity to talk about this in your video was the characters design in kaji 8. Why do you dislike the designs? You might have some valid reasons or some reasons that are just preference.

Those who think Jujutsu kaisen season 2 had bad animation compared to Season 1 They need to check their eyes 👀 . Season 2 is much far better than Season 1 .
@@samiyaku4532no it’s not. Its animation quality is NOT subjective. What is subjective is your personal taste for different types and styles of animation. That’s what this video is about. Differentiating personal taste from something being objectively bad.
plot twist: mappa ran out of time so they decided to draw the characters sloppily instead of nicely and well-proportioned but the fans think its "creativity".
funny you can deflect criticism since you can comprehend the irony in your name. It's just shounen crayon eaters being crayon eaters. creative freedom and interpretation of each scenario while pushing the budget will always be very impressive in the back of my mind. But that naruto fight scene will always be laughably bad and was a product of it's time anyways.
Well, the fact you use "budget" in reference to anime tells me all I know, you know absolutely nothing about it yet you comment on it like an expert, that's a different level of arrogance, budget isn't that important with anime as it's staff, time management and coordination that actually makes or breaks an anime, anime compared to other pieces of media is extremely cheap

a LOT of things you don’t think is cgi actually is… I personally enjoy when a show at least tries to do background animation or shots that otherwise would be implausible

😮who decided that?
Very truee
Pluto and Bleach TYBW have one thing in common: too much CG effects
Hi buddy I want to make u video on cgi anime like trigun, levius, blame, dorohedoro, idol master million live,d4dj all mix . Because this anime have solved the biggest problem of animating character in cgi anime , with them doing se well it's time we give them there recognition
What is the anime at 1:39
Lupin III (2015) , that scene was animated by Shinya Ohira

Lets just agree creativity is a good thing unless you're studio GoHands.

irrelevant but which anime do u think has "the" best animation? In my humble opinion CSM is deserving of this title
no disrespect but any Kyoto Animation anime is better also Cloverworks exist too
But Akira tho.
I love CSM style and think its one of the best but nothing can compete with Redline
Very subjective topic of course, but if you fancy Chainsaw Man's animation for it's life like fluidity... I think there's a couple better ones out there, like Hiroyuki Okiura's Jin Roh for example

Im still sad chansard isn't going back to mappa
i’m so happy he isn’t. he couldn’t even fully work at his full level on JJK. Toei at least gives him unlimited time essentially
@@cwega2463 One piece doesn't have a good schedule. Just the biggest animation studio of Japan and it's infinite wealth (as for now, Chansard is the most paid in-house animator in Japan, with an over 100K annual wage)
Also thanks to One piece itself; being one of the most popular anime in the world Is bound to attract literally everyone to work on It
@@lorenzorizzi864 i know. i never said Toei was a perfect studio to work for in terms of in house animators. they’re certainly better than MAPPA but still not amazing. but they give incredible amounts of support to freelance workers.
also their is a reason why Chansard has literally signed up to be a full time Toei worker for the upcoming year, and worked as a temporary full time member last year. the conditions are just better.
but overall, one piece does have a better schedule than your typical weekly series, and most seasonal shows. it may not be Mob Psycho levels of perfect schedule, but it’s not MAPPA bad. if MAPPA is a 1 and Mob is a 10; One Piece overall would be about a 7 or 8.
Thoughts on Kaiju No.8 episode 1?

Man i recall this guy in Mal forum commenting that CSM's Anime was Soulless, and i was like, WTF man? are we seeing the same show? you can dislike the director's vision, but CSM was everything but soulless.
pretty sure he’s been praising CSM since episode 1 so idk what you’re talking about…
Psycho_goku his name was lol
@@cwega2463 I'm not talking about PP but some guy in Mal.

Good video, the "creative freedom" crowd needs to be stopped.
Speaking of creativity, i hate to say it but its only japan and well developed countries who can afford creativity. India is too busy earning their daily bread and butter and only has shitty movies and shows with the same formulaic approach which is opposite to japans uniqueness. Just felt like i had to say this
Anything that doesn't look like the "seasonal isekai with a twist with default color/comp" I count as creative
And one would think that will be easy, but man was it hard for 80% of new shows to not look like that...

Another video from someone with zero animation experience. I need to find a TH-cam channel based in reality if you think mahoraga’s fight scene wasn’t well animated. Video’s like this remind me that people don’t have standards anymore.
I recommend a language class instead because when TF did I say that?

@@samiyaku4532no it’s not. Its animation quality is NOT subjective. What is subjective is your personal taste for different types and styles of animation. That’s what this video is about. Differentiating personal taste from something being objectively bad.

Jjk s1 didn't have that darker tone on purpose it was just bad composition lol

@@thegoldenapplebryanwu6816 that’s not true
@@8ooty0 Okay I misread the comment, but still, he's only interested in dark tones. And jjk is much darker in S2 than S1. But for him to be turned off by it because of a simple art style change for better animation and composition before getting to the actual dark parts is crazy.
every creativity should be appreciated except 3D CGI
a LOT of things you don’t think is cgi actually is… I personally enjoy when a show at least tries to do background animation or shots that otherwise would be implausible
lol
I mean it worked for Beastars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars
3D CGI isn't just used for characters, they're also used to create backgrounds which isn't a bad thing.
Demon slayer, Jjk season 2, fate, Csm and a lot of other high priority projects use cgi well whether it be foreground or background cgi that they use to elevate the scene, have you not seen Trigun stampede? Cgi is just as valuable of an asset as 2d is, 3d anime can be very creative.
