The JJk staff are Bada*sses. I’ve taken an animation class, and trust me when I say that it takes me ridiculously long to make a poorly drawn, melting, awkward cut and the JJK staff can make a masterpiece with half the time I had. Honestly Insane.
Todo's entry is legit the most physically hype I've felt after probably the Rumbling eps, or DS s2 ending. Jjk's writing is very good, but then Gege drops the most banger of quotations out of nowhere.
I was completely shocked by how good the episode looked wasn't expecting it to be this good and i am pretty sure if the animators were given enough time then this whole season would have been one of the best if not the best animated shows in recent years
Think its fair to say since the season is almost over that the JJK staff knocked this out of the park despite the odds. Borderline amazing animation for about half the episodes. The Animation team deserve the world and should leave MAPPA when this production is finished.
My fav ep of Jjk. Todo's entry, his Erwin Smith's "dead comrades" and Eren Yeager's "keep moving forward" speech, Miwa's beautiful scene (I didn't really care about their relationship, but goddammit the animation moved me), and that ending scenes. The VAs deserve a special mention.
The high quality is amazing but and i know this is going to sound crazy but that's not a good thing for a rushed and bad production to get high quality because it shows Manabu Otsuka can still get away with this overproduction management so long as he has one prideful veteran animator to exploit. It's like this, "who cares if the production is bad the veteran will carry it no matter what and if they quit or end up in the hospital will just find another in the industry" That's the horrifying reality of all this.

Mappa is not going to have the same animators anymore, like who the hell is going to work for mappa after season 2 for minimum pay and literally slave labor. Most of these animators don't care about the IPs as long as they can do fun animations where they can be creative, hopefully other studios pick them up and treat them better.
Naah, i didn't believe the first time when people said that ep 17 surpasses episode 16, this time I'm still try not to hold high expectations, but kind of have faith that this might be legendary.
it's always like that, also s1 had a lot of problem of schedule, some episodes completely destroyed by cgi background or not so much character acting, just the fact we are getting this quality is incredible only ep 8/14/18 are pretty incomplete
@@francescomastroianni963 S1 was atleast more consistent compared to season 2 which has more cgi backgrounds. S2 do have more dynamic camera angles and frames, however there is a drawback to it where there are several backgrounds during the fights that does not track what is shown in the front and it becomes a battle where they fight in the air. Not to mention a lot of it barely has details when it goes in to these "sakuga" moments because they sacrifice details and proportion for fluidity. In one moment the character can be one style and the next moment its another (like there is several different artist working on seperated stuff).
I hope jjk animators can fully finish next episode with the vision in mind, even if it takes more then a week, I'm willing to wait two weeks for it, next episode is gonna be todo's last (for now!) And I wish it's quality is the same as episode 16,17 if not then like ep13
I get it that is not the same quality like the first arc had , but seeing comments saying the animation was broken is kinda making me sad ,this is better than 99% of anime's and somehow people still complain , at this point a studio can make movie level animation and people will just get used to it and when it slips for 3 frames people will riot .
To me the Miwa segment was the highlight. If someone watched this scene out of context they would surely say its from a emotional romantic movie. Totally not from a series where a demon obliterates a whole city worth of people.

Honestly, this was my favorite episode I think. The voice acting, the animation, the HANDS, the direction. I did notice quite a few animation errors though, when Yuji was slammed and moved, the blood on the ground moved with him and Todo's necklace is missing in a few shots.
JJK doomers on suicide watch with how good this episode was. Todo's black flash was orgasm inducing. Super creative idea to use swapping with the rock Yuji threw, and then conveying his speed to the audience as Todo being a literal shooting star lmao.
I will not really call them jjk doomers, wh3n the biggest animaters are basically saying fuck you mappa, and dip, I genuinely thought that this type of episode wouldn't exist with the character acting. After all that of course, people and me will say that the production will burn to the ground.

I did find the short of todo attack amazing but it was a bit goofy as of like it changes the energy of the episode like would probably would see this episode in a more serious light!and notice how the pp is now using google 😂 to name them so doesnt mis pronounce it i find it funny
It's very much there in other anime, it's a seizure prevention thing implemented by Japanese television. Some shows have the ghosting removed on streaming services but not JJK for some reason. I believe they ghost any scene where a rapid change in color occurs in a span of 10 frames (or something like that). This only applies to the more popular tv time slots...I think.
season 1 had the same problem with condition, and s1 has like 5 episode good and the other kinda mid, just watch is video about s1, just the background ruin all the good animation of s1. in s2 we have very very very good background and action animation, also a lot of character acting with animation of s1 problably yuji will be a still frame while crying
In ss1, they put too much emphasis on character design, leading to many battles like massages with no power and very bad backgrounds, while ss2's animations are much smoother and better, and the moves are also much smoother than ss1.

Most of the "misinformation" came from the staff itself, so I don't know what you're on about. Also the production cracks are still quite visible, especially in certain episodes, which is particularly concerning because of the massive amounts of talent involved. The whole fiasco is very well documented, mostly from official sources, very little of it is actually misinformation.
Even if it's very little overall, the impact it had was very significant. How many articles and posts written about how the production completely fell apart and to expect delays? That was now episodes ago., and I still see comments referring to that. This episode had less cracks than almost every other episode so far. Todo's outer space hyper speed sequence was very reminiscent of those of Iida and Deku and Co in MHA. Seemed like Yutaka Nakamura inspired stuff, as the video said.
