Drizzle Politoed in gen 8 is legal now with: *Whirlpool* and *Encore* for Perish Trap combo and the last slot is nice for Scald to cripple physical attackers So at least it has some effective gimmick in gen 8

Fun fact: a water type with high special defense and even moderate hp would have been broken in gen 1-3 since both grass and electric type moves are special attacks in those gens. So basically that’s why Suicune was top tier
Fun fact: I actually quit competitive battling in Gen V because of this stupid frog. It was on virtually every team, and I'd have to sift through a seemingly endless sea of Rain Teams to find an interesting opponent. At one point I got bored and opted to make a counter-rain team, and sat at the top spot on Showdown for ~6 hours until that also got boring.
Just so you know, FSG is intentionally excluding Giratina as Mr. Tina is one of the multiple form Pokémon, which means he won’t be covering him until he has time for a special episode.
I remember really liking the poliwag evolution line back in the day when pokemon stadium 1 was my only pokemon game... then, when I finally got stadium 2, I absolutely loved it's design. I always tried to use it on every game if I managed to find another person who I could trade with , but never had much sucess with him... and I was beyond shocked when I found out politoed changed everything in gen 5 all by himself. I thought it was a forgettable pokemon in the competitive scene, but to think it easily was one of the most infamous pokemon in competitive history simply due to a dream world ability was something I never imagined would be possible.
I remember running Swift Swimmers on Sun/Sand teams just for the same of having an easy hard counter to rain. My favorite meme set was Focus Energy/Draco/Hydro/HP Fire. Was pretty good at baiting in Ferro in sun and revenge killed most mons that would threaten sun under rain, with some synergy in crits ignoring draco drops.
Politoed: Time to drown the other team in my Drizzle again. Pelipper: I'm about to end this toad's whole career. Politoed: Oh... well, I still have VGC! They'll need a rain setter- Kyogre: Your services will no longer be required. Politoed: Oh...

Honestly he's not that bad without drizzle. I use him sometimes in Gen 3 matches. His water absorb ability is really funny. Put em on a team with lots of water weakness, then switch him into any water move. He's a thirsty boy.
I love politoad.hope I will be able to use 1 in a playthrough someday I would need to transfer over to another game as a Poliwhirl to do so because politiad is a trade evolution.
