I never knew how to 'snap' verts in ZBrush (align them on the same plane). I loved how you just masked out all other verts, then used 'scale' to bring them all together!
@@Michal.P.P. Thanks! I just got into ZBrush last year. (3D sculpting's my new hobby.) Funny, how I can grasp the larger concepts pretty quickly, yet still get hung up on something so basic! To be honest, it took me a while to figure out how to 'snap' in Blender. I was making the mistake of using the Gizmo to move instead of hitting 'G' then locking in an axis so I could move my cursor off to one side to cover the vert I wanted to snap to!
I think you more showing what you are doing than "teaching". Would be really great if you slow down more the process, and try to explain just a little more. Thanks a lot of initiate this :)
@@camilahamel4843 If you already know how to use ZBrush and ZModeler this is just fine to learn his process. If your new or still not too familiar then a break down would be more helpful.
i agree with the comments below BUT as we all express it is so useful that we are grateful this is shared and better than not shared. esp most people seeing this are lvl 1 newbies like me. thanks so much for this video :)
I masked the points with the radial symmetry turned on. Turn on the symmetry mode by hitting X, then you can go to transform menu and click R under activate symmetry. Depending on the direction you are working on and the amount of faces you are dealing with, play around with the XYZ and radialCount .
I appreciate what you are doing, but if anyone was keeping up with you, they would have to have the same level of skill as you do. A bit of a breakdown would help the slower kids in class.
Ey man great tutorial! Thank you for your time I really appreciate it. One question tho, I've been using ZBrush for years and still can't figure out how you selected those points at 1:25 ...mind explaining? Thanks man, have a good one
Great video tutorial; however, not for the beginner. You went to fast and skipped a lot of info unknowingly. I have been with ZBrush for 3 and a half years and got hung up steps. I was able to complete the entire course. I would like to see more great videos like this. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
nobody cares about revolver and it has a simple animation. It just rotate, so you just need to lower the polygon count with decimation master or whatever, Automatic UV in Maya, putting it into Substance Painter and texuring it and in the end, give it to the level designer for the simple rotation animation!!!
Got some useful info for sure, but like Ronaldo said I was often going back to figure out what you did, as your words were skipping tasks that your hands were making, if that makes sense. Again very helpful overall, but I probably spent 2 hours on a twenty minute video due to all the time I spent looking for things that weren't explained.
Hey, thanks for your feedback, sorry for the inconvenience and will definitely work on more zbrush videos with better explanation in the future, and I'm glad to hear you still got some useful stuff from it:)
Same here too , only Im already trying this the 3rd time ..when i used Dynamic Subdivision (pretty new concept for me) after i finished modelling, it made it look like a mess...Any ideas ? Looks ok-ish when polyframe is active...
Made this in fusion360 in about 15 minutes, including the missing notches on the side. Then imported as a high poly obj. The problem with HS modelling in ZB is its not possible to be precise.
ok so you have to get a rect mask -draw over two points - reverse the mask. switch over to move mode and move the model... - not bad considering i never built anything with z-brush before - on with the tuts - hope to get to the end
That's definitely not a beginner tutorial. I couldn't follow your fast steps even though I found it attractive to watch... But not for more than a few seconds.
neat tricks.

You can also use clip curve in ortographic view to snap all unmasked verts

how are you making polygroups with qmesh without extruding?

@@ZephrusPrime Agreed.
Great video, but it would be better if you could explain in more details the steps, it was hard to follow.
Thanks!!! Excellent!!

Wow,it’s so fantastic
I just try to make new things with hard surface and this vid is helpful. Merci l'ami
great video!. But i have a question. how did you turn on the manipulation thing? at 1:28? needed explanation there..

Thanks for the tutorial, got me back in the program! I did some things different but I still learned a lot. (I also added some bullets :D )
It would be nice if you would tell how to do the actions.

Git good. Take a beginners coarse in zbrush.
@@evilweenie5743 Taking a swipe at me with that spelling? Nice.
Thanks very much!!!
Why would you do this in zbrush instead of maya or max?
It's my favourite 3D software:)
@@chrisz9345 that sounds like a good reason :D thanks!
When I click make polymesh3D but my model did not change color, how can I fix this?
Shift+f to switch on/off polygroup.
sooo good
although i think that it is a little bit hard to understand some parts for a beginner, i learned a lot by watching this tutorial. thanks a lot :)
hmmmm fantastic. Can you model a gameboy with zmodeler?
great job!
Thank you:)

I just activated the radical symmetry and use Zmodeler to mask the points radically, then ctrl + L click canvas to reverse the masked area.

how easy is it to make it ready for animation ? split it all up etc., say for animating in cinema 4d

Nice trick! But I prefer doing this by Maya. Maya for hard surface is faster.

are you sure this is for beginners?
wow you definitely don't choose easy way, I would say that this is the real nerdish way to model at all xD
For begginer? 😅
defo not for beginer - got stuck at mask point - had to google...
