    Really, really loving the channel so far! With each video you are getting incrementally better. Your fit/finish, editing, voice inflection, etc. is really getting good. Very impressive! Looking forward to more content in the future. Ever consider reviewing other cars?

      Appreciate that brother! Means a lot. I’m still learning the ropes but trying to convince the wife to get a 4 Runner so I can spin up more content 😂

    Supposedly if you hold the lock button, click the unlock button twice, & wait for the blinking lights to go off on the key it cuts the frequencies in the key. Intended to save battery life on the key. Not sure if it could be cloned or not with this method though.

      Interesting! I definitely don’t trust myself to remember to do that each time 😂 Thanks for checking it out!

      ^^^^ Same here. At home overnight & if in parking lots. Only takes a moment. It probably saves on your battery as it isn't searching for your vehicle.

    If you hold the lock button and press the unlock button twice it shuts off the fob. Press any button and it turns it back on.

    I have one of the best theift control features in the 21 century actually 2 first my tacoma has a key that I take with me plus I also have a manual transmission I've gone to places with valet parking 50 year old men tell me your going to have to park this I can't drive it even if I go to my Toyota dealership the people on the desk can't even pull it up some mechanics can fix them but can't drive them all I have ever owned in my life was a manual I learned to drive at 12 in my father's 10 speed box truck I could barely reach the peddles and his temper a kick in my leg when I made a mistake I learned fast he had a tractor trailer licence he got in the marines and kept it untile retirement the man could turn that rig around on a dead end street with cars on both sides I don't know to this day how he did it.

    "Hold lock and press unlock twice." This DISABLES the constant attempt to communicate with the vehicle. No additional purchase required, no discount code required.

      @TRDTalk Once you disable, it stays that way. Until you reactivate it. Plus side, fob has longer battery life 🔋. Con, No more put your hand on the door handle to lock or unlock. Each fob have to be disabled individually.

  • @jdsim9173
    @jdsim9173 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The range is so short on these key fobs, you need to be within a few feet to open/start. i couldn't start my car when i left the fob 10 feet away.
    Sounds more like a sales pitch than an actual issue.

    • @TRDTalk
      @TRDTalk  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Should have noted this in my video but the issue is also that your signal is still on and there are now devices out there to amplify the signal in key fobs. The concern is the signal being active, not just the signals distance.

    • @nickt423
      @nickt423 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely not a sales pitch. Look up relay auto theft. Most people put there keys near their front door. The thieves know that, so they hold up a repeater/amplifier to your front door. A second thief stands near the car to open your car door and start it up. And boom...they're off.
