    Years ago a neighbor caught a few dipshits trying to break into his truck in the middle of the night. While he recorded them with his phone as his wife called the police, he shined a laser at one of the kids head. The other saw it, they freaked out and ran away. Here's the best part. They called the police to report someone pointing a gun at them. The officers who responded to my neighbor just drove over and picked up the geniuses. Lesson learned? Cats and car thieves are equally freaked out by laser pointers

    I love this for when I am away from my semi. I also run a chain and lock between my semi’s door handles when I am inside and asleep. By the time someone can actually get in if they really want to, I am awake and prepared to defend myself.

    May sound cruel, but I learned in the 70's how to prevent vehicle break ins. You put razor blades in JB weld & let em set up. Just remember where & keep kids away. I got a warm & fuzzy feeling the last time i saw fresh blood on my tool box.

    My F450 King Ranch was broken in to 10 days ago, as they attempted to steal it. This is such easier than a tire boot. With a added wired CCTV and hard drive recording 24/7, & 2 BRITE LED exterior motion lights, I'm praying this will keep my F450 safe from thieves. Going to buy one for the 5th wheel.

If anybody walks on either side of your vehicle the sensor will go off. They won’t have time to mess with your vehicle because you’re going to know exactly when they walk up to it

    Considering that these retail for $100, you gotta assume the cost is negligible. So why isn’t this sort of stuff standard equipment in all vehicles? It seems like a no brainer, a super cheap thing that they could brag about. Heck even as an option package they could make a killing selling it for 500-1500 (gotta love the manufacturer markup), so why isn’t any of them offering it?

It's for my wife's car she drives a Kia soul 2020 so of course that would be the one that everyone steals 🤣 luckily in 2020 we moved into a house with a garage no more apartment parking lot situations. She had her Honda Civic stolen while we lived in the apartments and that was one of the worst experiences of our lives. Insurance could give a shit too! They were no help in fact when the police found the car destroyed we had to go to the tow lot and pay $140 to get it out 😕

    A problem with those motion sensor alarms is, if I were to rob a car and this thing would start the alarm, I would just take it and throw it onto the ground and it would in 90% chance break. Or I would just go dump it in a trashcan, anything can do. Much better solution is to install a killswitch. But I cant imagine someone installing it on a newer car... Best solution ever, just buy a garage.

    I’m still waiting for a theft deterrent/alarm system that will work for my situation. I travel in a camper van with a dog, who moves around in the van when I am working, so motion detectors will not be useful. I need something that will notify me if there is a window or door breach. I have already had the van broken into, ransacked, belongings stolen, and my dog thrown out after she went after the perp. I was lucky enough to get her back, which is a miracle. I was at work at the time in a “monitored” hospital parking lot, in broad daylight (I’m a traveling RN), and no one saw anything. FYI, I do have a standard car alarm, but no one paid attention or notified security.

    • @RipsterSA
      @RipsterSA 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try motion detection cameras. You can set them so that they activate only if the motion above a certain height, so that the dog will not activate them.

    • @Vantasticviews2
      @Vantasticviews2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jurgen Ruppel Thanks for the suggestion, but I have an elevated bed in the back, with storage underneath. There are are multiple levels in the van that she can easily jump to, so I don’t think monitor detection is going to work in my situation.

    The only issue with the second one and the one you didn't talk about is range - if you are parked somewhere and you happen to be out of range when it goes off it becomes useless.
    I have a Tile Pro stashed away in one of the pockets inside my car. Sure, a thief could find it and toss it, but if they don't I still have a chance at locating the vehicle. It DOES definitely work if I am parked somewhere and happen to forget where I am parked since the app can tell me how far away I am from it.
    Many dash cams have motion detection as well. The problem with motion detection is that you cannot use it when you are parked in a busy area because it will set off EVERY TIME somebody walks in front of the camera. Get back to your car and you will find 60+ alerts when nothing wrong has happened at all.
    For an internal siren to really be effective it has to be CRAZY loud to scare off the intruder. I would consider placing two of those inside, and also changing the color to match the headliner/dash. Be wary as well that if you ever happen to get a fly or spider inside it can set off motion detectors as well when they walk right in front of it.

    New ford's come from factory with a interior motion sensor alarm. Try locking it while you're inside then move it will go off

    • @Pacificaner
      @Pacificaner ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think most BMWs with alarms systems in the US have this and you can disable the motion sensor part such as when you lock someone in the car.

    Of course they are going to throw it outside. Nobody on the planet pays attention to alarms. I have seen them go off for 10 minutes before anyone does anything. By then they are LONG gone. The other issue is they are going to be super annoyed wreck your truck, then you are out a truck anyway.

      It's mainly to address the most comment type of theft, and that's kids driving around at night through neighborhoods checking vehicle doors and truck beds. In those common cases they are trying to be quiet because the homeowner is asleep.

      If you have keyless entry, they more than likely copied a blank key or got your signal when you locked it with key fob

      @@Mkb315 how is this possible? I have a keyless entry since I have a Nissan Altima, 2016 so I just have the buttons and it’ll open as long as my key fob is within its range. I didn’t even know people could do what you said :(

    • @Pacificaner
      @Pacificaner ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Mkb315 Yes when you lock your car with a remote FOB, click on the lock button a few times. I had heard this makes it difficult to copy the signal code to lock/unlock vehicle.
