- In this video I go over how to go about changing your pinion gear on the Traxxas Maxx. As always I point out the little important things and any problem areas to look out for when performing this particular procedure. I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you this video was very informational. I just bought a (6491x)18 tooth pinion gear and was about to instal it with a factory spur gear, thank you I’ll have to figure out what spur gear to run now! Thank man !
No problem, thank you for watching my vids. I'm glad that even older videos of mine still get so many people tuning In to them for help!👍
Bro that is great information I never had an owner's manual to mine Put a never known I thought it only ran 2 different gear combos
There are alot of different gear combos 👍 that's another reason why I love this truck.
Thanks for the video Mike 👍

Hi how much wider is it with these tires ?
I have 25 en 50
How do you like the 25/50 set up?
How fast the setup 22/50 ? It is very good from stock pinion 24?
I would say about 40-45 mph. But I like to gear things down especially if I'm running oversized tires like on the Maxx. Even with the stock tires and gears I noticed it motor clogged when I would first start to take off so I think (in my opnion) that the maxx was over geared from the factory! Now with the lower gearing I might have a decreased top speed, but it's a beast off the line! No more motor cogging even with the big E-revo tires I'm running👍👍. Thanks for supporting the channel my friend.
I have the max stock gearing with the trenchers and mine does about 40 mph
Would you be able to run mx38 with 16 54 t ? On the maxx
A 16 tooth pinion gear and a 54 tooth spur gear is ok to run on a 1/10th scale Traxxas maxx. 👌 You will need to move your motor positioning pin to setting "A".
Also ... What is a mx38? I'm assuming a type of tire maybe??? As long as they were not too big I think they should be ok to run👍😁
Lol sorry but that its the mx38 badlands there really big tires and I was just wondering if its safe to use the tire on the maxx I dont want to mess up the gears cuz there to heavy thanks for your reply 👍
@@xXxREDEEMEDxXx-yc9ne hey man what did you end up doing because I have mx38 badlands running and I need new gears. I’m thinking of running 22 with 50t. What do you think?
@@s1ushybrine119 well i change the gears and ended up noticing that i was damaging the rear diff so i ended up going back to the regular size tires ,after a while of just running with stock tires my motor got fried so i changed the motor and put in a 2050kv motor and it has alot of torque but now i need to buy 6s lippos to really push that motor
Cuz i have 8 4s lippos lol
@@xXxREDEEMEDxXx-yc9ne oh no I’m not liking the sound of this 😬
Best gearing for those tires is 54/20
My maxx is brand new half way through 1st run iv got a small clicking sound so I removed pinion gear cover my motor and pinion and spur all 3 go back and forth but dont turn everything is tight nothing's damaged but very light click noise but if I give it more throttle it locks up and takes off why is it doing that can someone help .e out???

Check your 3 motor wires to be sure they have a good connection. Otherwise I'm stumped. Keep me posted.
@@myrclife is there a slipper in the maxx or cush drive bc its brand new I dont get it either if I barely go to move it sounds like a stripped spur but it's not the gears all look great I dont get it either but when I go a little harder with throttle it stops and goes just fine
thats the Pinion gear not the spur gear
Yes, I slipped up and called it by the wrong name but as you see by the title of the video (pinion gear change) I was aware of the proper name of the gear. Thanks for pointing that out because you never know......maybe some people don't know the proper terms like you & I. I would of did a voice over and and inserted the word "pinion" in at that point but this video was taken a few years ago and I was working with different editing software and I didn't have the ability to do voice overs. Thanks for watching. Hopefully you check out some more of my videos where I DON'T make any mistakes. Lol. Have a good day sir👍
