Hey can I get a link to your music for hip-hop artist that you have worked on if that's ok I was looking hard but couldn't find anything linking your music.
There is no one like you on this TH-cam. Thanks for your education that no one can provide or able to provide, you really know this stuff. I’ve encountered this before I didn’t know it was the settings of the gate.
Thanks. It's because I don't watch anybody on TH-cam and no tutorials. So I don't repeat after somebody. Everything I explain is either my discoveries or my experience.
@@AndrewZeleno1 Thank you for the amazing content. Unlike the other big Audio Engineering channels, you are giving great in depth technical explanations. The other channels seemingly morphed into just marketing platforms for plugin manufacturers. Pushing product like it's going to be a quick fix for a lack of skill. And honestly I became sick and tired of that!
Just recently started watching your videos , I was a bit sceptical as how legit you advice was to be honest, but I watched you guitar tone video and it was genuine game changer , I've had a constant problem of getting electric guitars to work in my songs, they are either too muddy or harsh and I can't hear the bass and the snare etc, straight away I tried out what you said and the guitars sounds great even unmixed and the bass and snare and are way more present and clear now, thanks! hopefully I can do your course sometime when I am not so broke haha.
The whole THD thing/input saturation gain thing not working when EQ/comp is not engaged is something that I started observing a few months ago... I kinda thought I was crazy. Glad you've pointed this out. You've also answered some questions I had about brown vs black knobs at @27:30. Great vid! I have one remaining question though: Are the filters cutoff frequencies at the frequencies that they say that they are at in the plug-in? Even in the black mode I feel like like they don't attenuate as much as a digital EQ's filter of the same order, at the same cutoff frequency. As an example, when using the LPF, I feel like I always have to hike up the SSL filter higher than the respective digital filter, regardless of the channel that I'm on.
This was, as always, a really great video from you! I think TMT is nice on stereo instances to create a little separation between left amd right with the tolerances, never understood it for mono or the randomization function though (unless maybe for people who mix with their eyes and by numbers from "tutorials" that say things like "boost kicks at 80hz" and not with their ears...)
Great video, lots of great info, THD screw is a game changer! Chapters would be nice though. The section on TMT tolerance I felt was too long and repetitive, would be nice to skip. Cheers
Haha if somebody wasn't watching the video they might be worried with all those sounds; Eeek eeek Oooh ooohh Thanks for sifting out all the crap in plugin-land AZ
Thanks, Andrew! These measurement scales are not the easiest thing, but plugin manufactures make it much more confusing than it is. Yesterday I realized "SSL Meter" VU meter doesn't show 0 at -18 dbfs 0_o
would personally love quick exempts from your classes. I have taken your course btw there is so much info every class, a quick 5 minute peak wouldn’t give much away compared to the full class
Hey Andrew, thanks for the video. What's your opinion regarding Softube's Console 1 SSL4000E plugin? Is the drive knob there a Line Input drive or an output fader drive, or both?
Please do a review this week on Acustica audio SAND 4, that is a convolution plugin made from SSL 4K E and G and 9K, they have a trial and the plugin samples are about 2.5gb.
@@AndrewZeleno1 thanks i saw the video is about Nickel that really doesn't sound like a 1176 at all, sounds weird. Sand 4 is the SSL emulation, i just wanted to see if you already had a review on it.
22:50 I think the point is that both the left and right channel of a single stereo instrument have different tolerances and curves. But yeah, it's a total gimmick. I always switch it off.
I think it affects the stereo image bcs of the tollerances left and right. I don't want to split every stereo channel into left and right and then add the tolerance manual in any plugin. I think it's just easy this way to emulate this analog console behaviour. I don't know if the UAD or ssl ones emulate this also or just putting the same curves,... on the left and right channel.
Hmmm... and what is the reason of using gate on electronic drums? Gate is mostly used on acoustic drums, therefore setting of slow attack by default looks quite reasonable.

8 minutes in and kudos to you man! Some solid info to be aware of.

I have the BX 4000 G, does the expander advice apply to it too?

Will these behaviors apply to the SLL Native channel strip plugin, or just the bx? Great video
SSL Native Channel Strip is 9000 series. It's a completely different thing. I explain all these differences at the course.
Andrew please make videos everyday

Hey Andrew, thanks for the video. What's your opinion regarding Softube's Console 1 SSL4000E plugin? Is the drive knob there a Line Input drive or an output fader drive, or both?
it’s overall. and the collar is not like on real console. And attack on a compressor is not correct so compressor sounds deferent.
@@AndrewZeleno1 Thanks!
Guys put comments under this video to support please
You can change the metering reference levels to what works for you.
Use plugin doctor for curves display

А какая эмуляция консоли по вашему мнению самая безошибочная?

Hmmm... and what is the reason of using gate on electronic drums? Gate is mostly used on acoustic drums, therefore setting of slow attack by default looks quite reasonable.
On acoustic drums it's just as important (if not even more) to use fast attack on a gate
the point if the setting by default which spoils your electronic drums. And these settings are wrong chosen by the plugin manufacturer.
What a coincidence I just got this today..
Watch the video fully. 50% of these things people don't know.
@@AndrewZeleno1 thats why youre the goat. I’ve learned majority about mixing from watching these videos
