This looks awesome I will probably just play as Link for like most of the game sense Zelda is my favorite thing ever...but the option to play as all this characters in one game with a story about worlds colliding is awesome!!!
Honestly this whole game is crazy on that it’s a big campaign with a large overworld like Super Mario Bros X but it has such a wide roster of characters like Super Mario Bros Crossover.

EDIT: So apparently the last version I have is 0.53, which is ... older ... by about 12 years according to the Windows timestamp.
I'm sure I said this last video, but I should really update my Roll and Protoman skin enhancements from a decade ago. But I'm just sooo lazy… (If the game still works the same, the skins probably do, too.)
That never happens with these games. The developers get over excited and keep adding bonus features before they even complete the stupid thing and then it never actually gets completed.

However, with the dedication of this current team: I have little doubt we'll make it to v1.0. It really helps that source control is an actual factor compared to the early years of (what I assume) were project files shared across forum threads on the old MKF Forum.

It's a huge crossover fan game that uses Mario 3/World gameplay as a base. You get to play as 17 different characters each with their own weapons, power-ups and play styles. You also have 9 worlds to explore in any order you want. The final 10th world, World 0, will be implemented in the future but the game is loaded with content.
Out of curiosity, how’s the compatibility with the Steam Deck? I can get the previous version to run in Desktop Mode, but it doesn’t seem to work in Gaming Mode. I’d love if it was more convenient to set up, though it’s not too upsetting if this version ends up working the same way.
I am wondering something a bit. Is Roll going to be the only playable character from the start? Because honestly I think it should be both Mario AND Roll. Given how the game is primarily a Mario fangame.

When you play the revision patches of v0.88 (Rev A to Rev C Hotfix), save files can be transferred from the original version and revision versions A & B to the latest update which is the revision C hotfix update of v0.88. Save files from older versions before v0.88 are not compatible with the current version. There's some file updates with the Externals folder, but the other files haven't been changed. If you're afraid of losing progress when you move to v0.88 Rev C Hotfix, I recommend you use debug mode to skip levels that you already beaten and finish your progress there. Hope this helps

No playable Knuckles. He's good enough as a shopkeeper NPC And the tracks for Vile and Zero's starman and victory are final and we have no intention or plans to change them. If you want those music track ideas in the game, then you can mod the music for your downloaded copy of this version of the game and add them in yourself.

@@Patrick19833 If we added sliding to the game it would open a can of worms related to enemy interactions. Mario enemies are instantly killed with slides but what about tougher enemies with a lot of HP? Would Mario go through them? Would he bounce back up the slope? Even if we did figure out how the interactions would work, we'd have to edit all 1000+ enemies to dictate which ones could be damaged via slides and which ones wouldn't. It's not worth implementing sliding this late into development.
@@taxmaniaa You just don't include those enemies near slopes or levels with slopes. You always put them on flat surface. The slopes usually only appear in the Mario classic levels in the game. I don't see how it would be a big issue.

Some older levels are still around. A lot have been revamped completely in the meantime though.

Mario's gameplay still need to be fixed. He still can't slide down slopes which is the most important part of Mario's gameplay.
I'd argue jumping is the most important part of Mario's gameplay.
