Aw thank you for this video! All of the information was super useful, as always.
I was wondering if (and when you have time) you could do a pep talk for us BIPOC students in their program. I feel like I am continuously working on "imposter syndrome" but when the going gets tough the voice always comes back.

Okay! I totally need to do this! You are right. I do have a video from when I first started with MDs that we discuss dealing with imposter syndrome ( th-cam.com/video/Gjf6TMFIkvE/w-d-xo.html ) but youre right. We deserve an update!
Thank you for putting this on my mind! I will work on it!
Thank you for commenting Aurora I always appreciate our convos and your thoughts!

It is easy to struggle with "imposter syndom." At least once a week I worry I don't have the skills to make it.

It's understandable to feel ill-prepared, but its important to remember grad school and really all school is about learning skills. So rather than see it as a deficit (I don't have the skills) try to reframe it as generative (this is the place I gain the skills) ... Its great that you can recognize what skills you need, so that way you can find support! that is a very power and astute skill that no doubt will help you succeed! knowing where we need help is the only way we can get it!
Again, I know its easier said than done! But I can tell you are more than capable to succeed!!!!

Same with my capstone and taking my professor’s advice. My topic was too broad and I need to graduate 😭😂

I was watching one of your videos about funding and you mentioned (also you mentioned in this video) and I would be super thankful If you'd answer my question.
I am accepted to a MA program, which on their website there was a scholarship that I could apply for. However, for the upcoming semester the mentioned scholarship is not open for application. As an international student (from a third world country) it would be super beneficial to reduce the cost of my studies abroad Tho i am able to pay the full fee. What would you suggest that I do? (As you mentioned in your previous video that you negotiated with your university, I thought maybe you could point me a direction) thabk you!!

Hi! this is a great question! I would reach out to the advisor or grad rep to ask them this exact questions. This way they can explain if you are eligible for other awards or if that application is closed but they have other funding or something like that. If they tell you not so good news, then you explain your circumstance and kind of ask how have students in your position been able to fund school. I wouldn't tell them you could pay for it, since you ideally would not like to. Then see where the conversation goes. They still may not give you any money, but you never know until you ask! I hope that helps a little!
