I am a first-year Ph.D. student at Northeastern University interested in DEAI and community work in museums through the decolonization lens. I also look at the museum in my home country Azerbaijan, in the time after independence and the stolen objects during the colonization era. I low key ran so fast to this video because it felt like I haven't seen a new video from you. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! I am so proud of you!!!!! Thank you for showing us your journey to the end! I look forward to reading your work. I am in my 2nd year of my PhD and already deep in the process of trying to get to ABD. I am on track to being ABD at the end of my 3rd year. Next semester I am doing independent study to work on 3 possible dissertations topics! O I should share, I passed my method comp exam!!!!!!!! I am on taking my 1st comp in January and then work on my 2nd one to take in Aug 2024.
I'm glad you don't have a oral defense, in my program with have a dissertation proposal defense and we also have to defend of dissertation when we complete it.

Also I will have a graduation ceremony, but not until next june... So we have a little ways to wait.
Congrats Brisa. You mentioned that the final degree certificate arrives with transcripts. Can you elaborate on that? How they allocate credits, etc....since this is on PhD level.
Hi!
So the transcripts are exactly like any other degree level (in the US at least) I had two years of course work and those grades are accounted for. The main difference is that they also include the dates of your oral/written exams, if you pass or fail. And if you have any language exams. But beyond that they are very standard. I will say in most cases, no one has asked to see my transcripts (unless they are trying to prove that I am attending the program I said i was lol) so post-grad they don't seem to matter much :D
Hi. How to apply for marine biology PhD if one is an engineering undergraduate?
Yes! Of course! The most important thing is that you have all the pre-reqs... If you don't you can take them at a local community college or a "post-bac program" but those are kind of expensive! But marine biology and engineering (all types) are STEM so usually it would not be a hard case to make!
