I am knitting my second sweater and it is taking forever. The first one was Fisherman’s Wool so went quickly. This one is more sport weight and I am not tiny. I would love to knit a Faire Isle sweater but that is heavier fingering weight yarn which means I would be fossilized before I would done with the project. That said, I shall persevere and encourage other bigger knitting guys to hang in there.
Keep at it. It's not about quantity. I'm sure over the years you'll be able to get a decent amount of hand knit sweaters to wear.
First things first: I think the Lanark looks SO cool! Both on you and in general 🙂(I already saw the video where you wear it). I love it!
I'm just about to finish one, too, I did mine in Mayflower Easy Care and I hope it'll last me a good while because I knit on it for almost 6 months, I'm a really slow knitter. I always get so jealous when other youtubers seem to churn out a sweater a week, thank you for being a little slower! I enjoyed the Lanark pattern too and found it less difficult than some of the comments on ravelry made me think it was. I'm fairly new to sweater knitting so I was glad for the super detailed hand-holding instructions. I can see how they could be annoying for more experienced knitters though.
Also, I also use simple totes for project bags, I have tons of them around the house because they make for a great budget souvenir.
Thank you for your in depth discussion of the patterns you knit. Very enjoyable podcast.
Thanks so much. Also, go at your own pace. It's perfectly fine. As long as you're enjoying it, it does not matter how many things you knit. I feel like some podcasters really do a ton as well and I have to remind myself that I'm not them. While I do knit quite a lot, I'm also unemployed so I am cranking them out pretty regularly. These episodes would be much further apart if that were not the case.
it’s the way I have yet to actually finish a project since switching to combo knitting, but it’s nice to know that my yardage goes a lil further now cuz knittin for this 6’ man torso was gettin pricey
I'm always surprised at how much yarn I have leftover. That's why my stash is a lot of my sweater leftovers.
