    Hello Vivi!
    Thank you so much for a helpful tutorial! I do have a question. Would I only need to make the 5 sizes that are outlined in pink, and then the customer would just print which ever ratio they needed to get a specific size?

    • @HeyViviLondon

    Hey I've been using this for a while and thank you for showing it to us! I just want to know is there any way to automate the process of the adobe illustrator size rearrangements so I don't have to do it manually everytime? I'm thinkig of a template where I just put the artwork image and it's aumaticaly fitting the artboard.

    • @HeyViviLondon
      @HeyViviLondon  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, awesome great to hear. Yes there are Adobe “short cuts” you can create where at a click of a button it transforms the artwork into different ratios. I never use these because they end up distorting the artwork. There are also AI tools that will create all the templates at a click of a button but again they usually end up distorting the artwork so I don’t use these either.

    I have been looking for this information,thank you. a couple of questions please, why do you use an "art board",I am not familiar with that? You don't send just the print on a transparent back ground? I had a couple of other questions but now i forgot them,LOL I need to go back and watch again. thank you for sharing .

    • @HeyViviLondon
      @HeyViviLondon  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      An “art board” is basically like a canvas for you to create your art on. You should include a background color so that the file is ready for printing. I would only include a transparent background if you want to give your customer the flexibility to customise the background color. Hope that helps!

  • @rayeilmanning8350
    @rayeilmanning8350 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks so much for the video. It makes a lot more sense than others I watched. Will the five art templates be uploaded as a zip so I can then use the other 4 file uploads for the size guide templates? And customers will be able to get any size from the zip?

    • @HeyViviLondon
      @HeyViviLondon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad it was helpful! Not sure I understood your question but you'll see there is a illustrator file with the canvas sizes for you to use if you would like to. Customers will only be able to download the file sizes you choose to upload. Hope that helps!

      @@HeyViviLondon sorry. The way I word my questions are bleh lol. I’m very new to all this and noticed that Etsy only allows 5 file uploads for digital listings. If I wanted to ensure costumers get each size in the template, would I download each artwork separately? Or would I upload the entire file as one when exporting? Because I’d also like to use your size guide templates to help costumers. I’m not sure if it’ll go in as a file or as a photo in the listing

    • @HeyViviLondon
      @HeyViviLondon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rayeilmanning8350 Oh I see what you mean now! You can upload as many files as you like if you upload a zip file which is what i usually do. If the zip file size is too large you could upload as many as 5 zips. If the files are still too large you can always store your artwork in google drive and send customers the link to download it. hope that halps.

    Thanks a lot I was looking for something like this, this was perfect I was just wondering if something like this could be done in photoshop? I usually use illustrator but I've made a poster in photoshop and I'm realizing I probably should have started with the biggest size, I started with 18 x 24, would I have to create another with 24 x 36 for example?

    • @HeyViviLondon
      @HeyViviLondon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, if you use photoshop to create the artwork then i would stick with that program for creating the different artboards. You can set up the document with different size artboards in photoshop as well. If you do import them into illustrator just made sure you check that you haven’t lost any resolution bc sometimes that can happen when you import artwork into different programs.
      When using photoshop, I tend to create the artwork in the biggest size I need, and then size down to avoid loss of quality however it really depends on the type of artwork. Hope that helps!

    I know all my print sizes I just need to know if it's a digital download print that's full color (all the way to the edges) should it be the actual print size or do I make it with the white border already around it as my final print file?

    • @HeyViviLondon
      @HeyViviLondon  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would depend on the printing company’s specifications. Since I have no control over which printer my customers will use I don’t include a white boarder unless it’s part of the design. They can always check this with the print company.

  • @satnamodSpv

    for etsy digital art prints, if you create art that looks great at all ratios without cropping out anything significant, can you technically, just upload one large file (like 12000x12000) instead of providing so many different sized files? Could the customer (or the customer's print-service) just get this one file and scale down to any size they need ? Or is there a downside to that?

    • @HeyViviLondon
      @HeyViviLondon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you get to decide the size/format you offer. There are certain expectations Etsy customers have with digital art files however that doesn’t mean you can’t do something different.

I get an error message from walgreens that my file type is not supported. I saved it exactly as you said to. It says that they typically support all JPEGS.
