    Razer states up to 60 hours of battery life on their official spec page. While it isn't indicated, it should be based on 1K Hz polling rate and not 4K Hz. I've tried the Basilisk V3 Pro myself and I have the 4K Hz dongle. Battery life is abysmal on 4K Hz no matter what. On the Basilisk V3 Pro, it has a 90 hours battery life on 1K Hz and just about 24 hours on 4K Hz.
    Extrapolate that information and the Viper Mini Signature Edition will only run roughly 16 hours on 4K Hz. Add on the fact that 4K Hz is still not supported by quite a number of popular titles, it would be a meaningless feature to me should I own this mouse. Oh and should the situation on the Viper Mini Signature Edition be the same as the Basilisk V3 Pro, you wouldn't be able to use 4K Hz on wired while it's charging.
    All in all, would just stick to 1K Hz.

    • @Shyvorix
      @Shyvorix ปีที่แล้ว

      4k Hz is definitely a pure luxury feature unless you're playing an eSports game and are playing at a very high rank (essentially max rank games + faceit)

      You need to go outside more if you need more than 24 hours of battery life on a mouse. Also, it takes like 15 minutes to charge to 50%, 30 to get to 70%, and like 47 ish minutes to full from drained. Thats more than fine in my book.

    Magnesium alloy casting is not that expensive.
    It's very commonly used like on a $100 ikea table ass a piece connecting leg to the table.
    Or like motor frame in a $20 hand blender.
    Expense could possibly come from the need to finish machine the cutouts on some crazy 6 axis CNC due to the shape.

They are telling you that these mouses with wholes are good for air circulation and perfect for long gaming sessions and that the prevent sweating hands. Truth is, the only reason they manufacture thoses mouses is that they can save a few Cents because they need to use less plastic. And yes, that goes for magnesium alloy as well. So... my honest 2 cents on that: considering that even on the site it`s not listed in the ``viper`` tab but as a ``signature``, and the limited edition stuff linked to this new label, this mouse more than a everyday use mouse is thought as a collector piece. Considering that i can see why it`s priced like that, it makes sense to me.
    It`s like a very ``conceptual`` mouse that usually you can`t buy but just use in events and conventions, but this time you can actually buy it untill the `` limited edition`` strikes.
    This kind of marketing it`s a thing in many other segments like, as mentioned, watches industries... the new thing is applying it to a mouse! what do ya thinks, folks?

    The Razer Viper is my standard for mouse use but when it comes to the Mini signature edition? Nah, I'll wait for the plastic version. I meaan $280 is a bit much even though Razer packed a lot into the box to justify the price. I also have the Viper Mini and MAN! at 61g, I feel like I'm holding a sheet of paper so I can imagine 49g with the Signature Edition. As far as the triangular perforations? I believe Razer would have been better off with a plastic version and a solid shell. I get they're tryin to be fancy but keep with what works for the rest of us gamers.

    I think Razer saw an opportunity as Finalmouse made themselves much more known thanks to the Starlight-12, but as it seems, it's not uncommon to see plenty of complaints in regards to QC.
    The signature edition is an statement on how top end mice should be made. In a sense I hope other manufacturers would try more of this, upping the bar on all fronts. I'm just disappointed Razer haven't gone more extreme, they could have easily gone under 40 grams with this.

      And true, my bad, the sensor on the fm is the 3370,they just tuned it way better.
      Look, it's easy to see razer just slapped a metal frame they kinda copied from fm on a 25$ mouse, added wireless and called it a day.
      Don't be a fan boy, fm is mostly trash and not worth the price, that's true, but this one? That's a freaking sad pathetic joke.

    As usual, another Razer product that isn’t that great. It works, it’s kinda nice, but the price isn’t worth it for what you get.
    I replaced my (OG) Blackwidow Chroma keyboard with the Huntsman which was more expensive than my Blackwidow. Total. Downgrade. Switches are wobblier, build quality is mediocre, switches trigger on their own if you hit your desk or set something heavy down on it (thuds activate it), and the typing experience isn’t as good. If I hadn’t spilled water on my Blackwidow and ruined some of the switches (they got crunchy) I’d probably still be using it.
    It’s a shame Razer isn’t all that anymore, bc their older products were great.

    I really like that you started including awesome gameplay in your videos!
    Regarding Viper Mini Signature Edition, I find the battery life a huge deal breaker. Logitech manages to have much much higher battery life without being too heavy. It's because of the sensor efficiency.
    Also 4k pooling rate it's a gimmick for most people.
    I like having a wireless mouse without the drawbacks of wireless. Meaning not having to recharge my mouse daily, needing to tether my mouse to a cable when I run out of battery, or higher input lag.
    In case of Logitech, I'm getting all of that and more (reliability). I can easily forget to charge my mouse and it will still last me a few more days of use.
    I charge my Logitech mice so rarely that I don't even know if it's happening once per month or once every other month.

    • @aidanleenstra1605
      @aidanleenstra1605 ปีที่แล้ว

      If 4k polling is a gimmick, turn it back to 1k and get the stated 60 hour battery life ("only" 10 less than the Superlight's 70).
      This isn't rocket science.
      As for charging, this has fast charge, which nets you something like 6 hours off a 5 min charge. That should be enough for most people to finish off their gaming sesh.
      Trash it for it's absurd price, sure, but not for optional features.

    I'm sorry, how is 4000 HZ polling even a selling point? It just means the mouse updates 4000 times a second that is absolutely ridiculous. Humans take about a fifth to a quarter of a second to respond. And our movements are not nearly small and accurate enough to warrant any requirement for any polling above 1000 HZ and even that is questionable at times.
