- If you want a tummy tuck on your Jeep then this video will help you decide if it’s right for you. I will go over what parts are needed and why you need them. Remember that when purchasing parts, it's always a good idea to make a list so you know what you are getting into.

One of the sickest jeeps ahead of it's time too
Setting up my first Jeep TJ and this has been super helpful info. Installing a Currie lift and trying to make sure I go down the right path...Thanks!
I must’ve watched this video at least 20 times now. It’s been such a huge help to wrap my head around this upgrade. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge, great video!!!
No problem glad it’s helped you. It’s a lot more than most people think but such an important upgrade in my opinion
OUTSTANDING video, sir. I had zero understanding of what all was involved before I found this video. Now I’m fully aware. Thank you!!!
Excellent explainer, thank you! Very helpful for making a decision and planning.
Thanks I appreciate it
Awesome video. Thanks for explaining all this I am currently doing a rear double triangulation right now on my TJ and will be welding my lower control arm brackets to my skid plate and if I can get my skid plate that much higher that means my lower control arm brackets at the frame.l will be that much more out of the way.
Definitely tac stuff. It’s crazy how just the right flex can cause an issue.
@ Cardinal Offroad. I appreciate the video format. I feel like I got good information for a future project without filler garbage.
My idea of a budget lift, tuck, or any other mod is to not spend money breaking things to figure out I needed something extra/different. In short; I found true value here and I thank you.
Thanks I appreciate it! It’s always good to do a parts list in my opinion before starting something like this. Then you can see what you need and how much it’s going to cost. Good luck!
@@CardinalOffroad Thank you. Did you fab the tailgate toolbox on your rig? Granted that the louvered hood seems to be necessary, the toolbox is my favorite.
Actually it’s a rockman tailgate. I have a video on it. It’s on of the best things I’ve done for storage.
The text message sound when he says $450 bucks is the best part.
i know! i got up and looked for my phone LMAO
Great video, I'm looking to do the exact setup. I have a 98 tj, just wondering with the ssye hows the speedometer work do you think there will be a problem running the super short on and older jeep? Thanks for putting everything into perspective.
No you’ll be fine. I think Tom woods offers a kit that has the driveshaft with it. Biggest thing that will mess with your speedo is tire size but really it’s not a huge deal once you figured out how far it’s off.
What size lift motor mounts did you use to raise your engine in order to have a flat belly skid?
1” and 1” body mount. I did cut tub some but I had a 241 tcase
Very cool video, I am in the middle of installing my tummy tuck, with almost all the same parts. Can I install a tummy tuck with a deep transmission pan?
Great! Are you currently running a deeper pan now? The only issue this will cause is you might need more room between the pan and the new skid plate depending on how far it sticks down.
@@CardinalOffroad I am installing the skid this weekend, so we will see. The UCF skid looks sit a little further up than the stock one.
John Clark what skid did you go with, as far as how much drop?
@@CardinalOffroad UCF Transfer Case Skid for '97-'02 TJ (Ultra High-Clearance)(Carbon Steel) - Material Thickness : 3/16.
John Clark ok I think that’s the same one I ran before. Should be a 1 inch drop. If it hits the tranny pan you might be able to put a spacer between the skid and pan depending on how much it is. Or have to go back to a stock pan. Good luck!
You’ll be extremely happy with this upgrade.
