    Finally, I see an intall video with fountains of dirt pouring down with every bolt you remove. That's what I'm used to whenever I work on my TJ haha

      Joe Garofalo II sounds like you know our pain! No matter how many times you wash it you can't get all the dirt out!

    • @JoeGarofaloII
      @JoeGarofaloII 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nate Bleepinjeep that couldn't be more true! It could take days to clean what 30 seconds of good mud can do haha. I always have to wear saftey glasses when under my Jeep or I get tons of dust and rust in my eyes. Hopefully some deep cleaning and spray painting the undercarriage this summer will help fix that!

    Another good quick vid!
    Did a 2" on the CJ7 with a custom crossmember and lifted motor mounts back before these were kits. Switched to an electric fan too.
    Those sliders are are compromising clearance in more ways than just tires.

Please tell me if their are anything besides motor mounts i should worry about? i have rear adjustable uppers and adams driveshaft with tons of room but that shouldnt matter.Steering shaft to steering box,shifter for transmission, and brake lines is my common concern.Im not in great health just dont want to get in to tearing this apart then not finish it.Im dont want to sound like a wimp ,but you guys know all the tricks and i can use some pro insight.Thank you Robert

    Just a question if you raise motor to match body should you also do the same for transmission and transfer case

    • @natebleepinjeep9564
      @natebleepinjeep9564 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Donald Duncan no need to lift the transfer case. Making the motor an inch higher but keeping your transfer case at the stock height actually improves the angle of your rear output. One small overlooked benefit of doing a body lift/motor mount lift like this. Thanks for watching!

    Were you jacking the engine up with a floor jack under the oil pan? Seams like it would bend.

    • @natebleepinjeep9564
      @natebleepinjeep9564 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Latemcire good question, this is an old-timer trick. Put a nice wide block of wood on top of your jack and then jack up the oil pan. We used my transmission jack which has a very wide top so it evenly distributes the weight across the oil pan. I've never bent one this way but it may be possible. Thanks for watching!

    Great video as always ... but why all that work for only 1" ? And why not a 3" lift ??

    • @dorsk84
      @dorsk84 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mike Hill 1"-2" gives tire / body clearance. Anything more puts too much force on the longer bolts and issues with controls that go between the body and frame.

    • @natebleepinjeep9564
      @natebleepinjeep9564 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      My brother went from 33s to 35s recently. He already has a 4 inch short arm lift and we didn't want to push the short arms to a steeper angle by giving it more of a suspension lift. Since we were only after one more inch of clearance, a 1in body lift made a lot of sense in his situation. In our opinion much more than that gets complicated and starts to look a little weird. We took it on a wheelin trip shortly after this and it worked perfect. No more rubbing anymore just enough clearance everywhere we needed it without getting the jeep to tall

    I have a QUESTION! My 2016 jku has an annoying squeak when I hit any uneven spot while driving and I can't stand it!!! Just replaced the front and rear track bars, front and rear shocks, re torqued every single thing, doesn't seem to be the lift coils or the control arms, and it is not the muffler heat shield. What in the worrrrrld is it!!!? So annoying to have a beautiful jeep with fancy fox shocks and seemingly everything in working order and still a damn squeak!!!

      That's a tough one to troubleshoot without seeing it brother. We all have lost hours trying to trace squeaks LOL I'd love to give you my two cents but it sounds like you're going down the exact path I would have. Might need to remove your control arms and Lube up the bushings, unless you have rebuildable Heims. Then you may need to grease those bad boys up aswell. Good luck! I know how maddening it can be to track down something so small

    I wouldnt recommend a body lift to anyone

    • @Tanner731
      @Tanner731 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      why not? as long as its not above an inch or two it actually helps with clearance when working on the jeep/cleaning the underside and gives you a little extra tire clearance. Obviously not a replacement for proper suspension but as long as its not a big body lift it really changes nothing and its 100x better than old worn out body mounts.

    • @parkerhammond3258
      @parkerhammond3258 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It offsets everything, destroys body mount bushings, nothing looks right, you still have the same crappy ground clearance, and you put more stress on the tub and front fenders of the jeep when offroading. Spend the extra money and just buy coil spring spacers if your too broke to pay a bit more for a rough country lift.

Im more of a cherokee guy anyway tho, they always showed the wranglers up on the trail.
