Just an observation... Instead of typing "Quality Guaranteed" and trying to match up a few letters, I would recommend typing the exact phrase "Gallons Delivered" and been able to do a direct letter-by-letter comparison. Both probably get you to the same endpoint, but I just think it's a better choice instead of trying to compare 2 unrelated phrases.
Great addition! My OCD was screaming at the phone, "Aaron!.. Brother... please, the "G" is not even close! "C'mon man". There are closer matches ". But, hey, that's why we have smart objects.🤪
I was just looking for a good way to match text in an image. I’ll definitely give this a try. Thanks so much Phlearn, always taking it to the next level.
I never even realised Photoshop had the Match font thing Aaron, I've been using the likes of whatthefont etc, this could prove to be very useful. Thank you, Also, you're looking well my friend :D
Just an easier / faster way to create (or release) a clipping mask, is to press the Alt /Opt key and take your cursor between layers. Great video as usual! Thanks!!
I have to admit that is a great smart potential feature I think they can go a step further and sort of save it as a mini group so you can test out the font easier than you having to do a screenshot but I do like the idea and I don't use Photoshop I switched over to affinity designer photo publisher
I always use What the Font. Just search it on Google. You upload an image of the font section, and it's guesses are a lot better. Then I just search for a free download
Font matching is getting better - but - it's still a lot of hit-or-miss for me. Usually they miss certain 'characteristics' of the font. I'm not an expert at all; seems like one could focus on certain characteristics of a couple of 'key' letters to determine a closer match? Maybe certain fonts are copyrighted to prevent such matching? One thing I'm certain of is that this technology will continue to improve ...
Your tutorials are all remakes now. You no longer teach us anything new? What happened man? Show us how to make diamond text. That would be nice. One without using the clouds. I would love to see you do a pen and pixel diamond font type text tutorial. Just a suggestion Aaron
I like that Adobe added the match font feature but it isn't as good as WhatTheFont. The font that should have been used to match the font on the gas pump is Swis721 Condensed BT.
You know when I actually try to figure out what a font is in a similar fashion I'll go through my font list first but right above the text I'm trying to match I will do kind of what he did I have another text box above it or art box or whatever they call it different companies different names with the exact same words written in it so when I'm scrolling through changing the font I then can compare the differences of ALR if they have hooks on them and all those other things he's got entirely different word above so instead of comparing right above each other which is easier you got to look around between the two different words for the matching letters instead of just looking at a column does that look like the cheese does that look like the a for the different letters top to bottom top to bottom top to bottom to find the closest font
Not optimal that you can't have the cloud fonts dialog box open at all times, and you have to take a screenshot. 🙈 Some of those dialog boxes haven't changed since photoshop 3.0.
Great tutorial, I never knew this feature existed but your choice is horrible. It does not match at all. The "E"s and especially the "G" are completely different and easy to see. The first font was actually closer to the original one.
when i copy layer they change togther??????? when i copy layer they change togther??????? when i copy layer they change togther??????? when i copy layer they change togther???????
I had to give it a vote down because if you're going to try to compare a font from a photo from a font you got typed in it should be the same word to do a true comparison not two completely different words then maybe missing letters that when you get down to some fine details of some fonts some fonts are so similar it's not funny to her one or two letters literally can make the difference between font a and font b that's why I gave it a thumbs down

totally agree, thats how i've been doing it for years =) only way to get everything 100% matched
I was thinking the same thing! Glad someone else has common sense too :)

Yesterday: Sliced Bread
Today: PS Match Font
Hey Aaron, could you please give us the name of that clipboard manager app at 1:52?

This is how documents are forged
Hey man I hope your health is good.

The match font function rarely works for me. Its guesses are usually terrible. It needs a lot of work.
I always use What the Font. Just search it on Google. You upload an image of the font section, and it's guesses are a lot better. Then I just search for a free download
How about if you havnt got a blank background ?
MAN WHAT THE F, YOU A GENIOUS!
Unfortunately, the fonts didn't match... Check G and R for instance.

it's missing in Photoshop CS6... Type -> Match Font
Your tutorials are all remakes now. You no longer teach us anything new? What happened man? Show us how to make diamond text. That would be nice. One without using the clouds. I would love to see you do a pen and pixel diamond font type text tutorial. Just a suggestion Aaron
What can I do if I do not see match font ?
This rarely works and when it does it only shows font from Adobe. If you need to find a font by an independent creator this will not work
I like that Adobe added the match font feature but it isn't as good as WhatTheFont. The font that should have been used to match the font on the gas pump is Swis721 Condensed BT.
I eyeballed it and guessed Folio Bold Condensed or regular old Helvetica Bold Condensed, but I think you're right, Trevor.
You know when I actually try to figure out what a font is in a similar fashion I'll go through my font list first but right above the text I'm trying to match I will do kind of what he did I have another text box above it or art box or whatever they call it different companies different names with the exact same words written in it so when I'm scrolling through changing the font I then can compare the differences of ALR if they have hooks on them and all those other things he's got entirely different word above so instead of comparing right above each other which is easier you got to look around between the two different words for the matching letters instead of just looking at a column does that look like the cheese does that look like the a for the different letters top to bottom top to bottom top to bottom to find the closest font
... and breathe!
Not optimal that you can't have the cloud fonts dialog box open at all times, and you have to take a screenshot. 🙈
Some of those dialog boxes haven't changed since photoshop 3.0.
Dude PS 3.0 hardly had any functions, there wasnt even undo history in 3.0
when i copy layer they change togther???????
Hey there! if you send us an email to support with a screenshot of your PSD file and layers, our team will do our best to guide you.
thanks bro prob is solve 💗@@phlearn

when i copy layer they change togther???????
when i copy layer they change togther???????
when i copy layer they change togther???????
when i copy layer they change togther???????
hellYeah
If match font can't match Helvetica, one of the worlds most used typefaces, then it is pretty much useless.
I had to give it a vote down because if you're going to try to compare a font from a photo from a font you got typed in it should be the same word to do a true comparison not two completely different words then maybe missing letters that when you get down to some fine details of some fonts some fonts are so similar it's not funny to her one or two letters literally can make the difference between font a and font b that's why I gave it a thumbs down
I had to downvote your comment because when you bash something, have the decency of using at least half the punctuation marks the sentence needs
