  • The Wacom 27QHD Touch is undoubtedly an amazing top-of-the-range drawing tablet. In my opinion it's the best one on the market! I love my Wacom Cintiq and use it every day for my digital painting and illustration freelance work. BUT how can you make that experience even better and how can you make your studio look 1000% times cooler at the same time? Simple...

    The Ergotron LX Sit Stand Desk Mount LCD Arm is amazing and practically built for this Wacom. I've seen other people use differ arms and run into problems. Watch this in-depth guide and get a detailed feel for the arm and how it works, what's in the kit and how complex it is to put together. You'll also see just how amazing the build quality is from Ergotron. I want to point out now that I'm not an affiliate and I receive no money from anyone if you purchase - I just want to tell you how great this product is and help you improve your own artwork too. So, if you feel like donating to my channel that's great.
    Until then, keep on painting!

      Not much to say about drilling the hole. Just pick a point where you want the hole and drill. Near the back but not too close to the edge. It'll become clear when you have the Ergotron arm in front of you ;)

      I certainly will.
      One other question. Everyone has been complaining about the touch function on the Wacom 27 HD touch Most people say it does not respond and looking at the price difference, it would be a shame to waste that money and the deal breaker does not function.
      On the assumption that you use it: how would YOU rate it?
      Do you think it is worth investing in for a clean up artist who needs to work fast while zooming in and out.
      Grateful in advance for your reply

    thank you so much for the video. I'm getting the cintiq 27 myself to replace the 24 HD I had on ergo stand. Because of my spinal injury I found using the cintiq 24 in a comfortable position next to impossible and it was too heavy to put on an arm. I have just sold mine and am now ordering the touch version of the 27 and going to go for the same arm as you have.
    I'd like to finish by saying I love your portfolio. Its my kind of art and I loved to view it.

    Thank you, Lawrence. You solved a bunch of problems for me. Partly apparently the last two pages of the instructions were missing(!). Totally missing was how to adjust the tension so the monitors didn't continually sag. I too now geek out on the gigantic allen wrench.
    I prefer the ergo mount for the 27QHD, it just feels more stable for me. but because the Wacom is so large, I use two of the Ergotrons to hold the monitors (32" UHD Samsung) I use for referencing and rendering.
    Thanks for the help. That's the techie side. On the creative side, I love your art, thanks for sharing. And yes, Self Promo=Good!

    Hey Lawrence, great video thanks for this: do you think a 2cm thick MDF wood table will be enough to sustain the drilled hole setup? Or even the clamp??

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      2cm MDF should be fine. I imagine this is a treated / finished MDF? You will get a good sense for how the arm feels when it is on the desk anyway. It will also make a difference depending on the legs / supports and what else is on the desk of course. Happy New Year!

  • @jacquessaumur685
    @jacquessaumur685 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is one of the most amazing building demonstration video I've seen so far. Very explanatory and does show everything you need to know. I can tell you're a very meticulous person.
    You mentioned in another comment something about adding an arm to this? I didn't know that was possible and would definitely help me. It's only for a light 24" monitor but I need to get it in front of me from quite a distance of at least 35-40" while adding the 90 degree angle needed as well.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adding an extension piece will lower the weight capacity of the arm. That's basically what I was saying! Most people don't seem to understand that. Then they wonder why it's not as stable for them. I would recommend attaching the arm to the side of the desk if possible if that helps bring it closer or drilling through the desk and clamping as I did if you only need a few inches! That'll also make it more stable over all.

    • @jacquessaumur685
      @jacquessaumur685 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for all your previous information. I finally got the box and getting ready to install it all tomorrow. However, I was wondering what size of drill bit you used to do the hole? I'm going to also put it directly through the desk instead of using the clamp, but I want to make sure I don't use a bigger bit then I need to.

  • @parkay3560
    @parkay3560 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Lawrence.
    I had a few problems with the arm- but caused by my desk. I had not anticipated how tall the column was as I intended to fit it under the fixed shelf above the desk I have. I'm a disabled artist and had a desk specially made with a large shelf above the desk surface but the arm is an inch and a half too tall to fit under. I've ended up having to basically get a matching piece of wood and turn the desk into an L shaped desk so the arm and Cintiq will be in a different position. Its worked out well in the end because when I do unpack the cintiq 27 from its box and follow your instructions to mount the arm on the back of it and place it, it will be easier. I'm going to take your advice and get help to lift the cintiq into place. I have a spinal injury so lifting it on my own I dont want to do.
    I'm looking forward to getting everything running and starting to learn how to draw again. I kind of lost my skills after the accident but I am slowly building them back. Thanks for the video because quite honestly the instruction manual that comes with the arm is total pants!
    I will spread the word. I think your work is amazing.

    Thanks for this video, Lawrence. Helped a lot and I've decided to go ahead and buy one of these myself. I have a question as well though. Sort of related, sort of not. My Cintiq 27 qhd doesn't have the rubber grips on the bottom of the base anymore, and I can't actually find them. Do you know if it's possible to buy these separately or whether there's a handy alternative? I'm just worried about the tablet sliding without any sort of grip to hold it. No worries if you don't know, just thought I'd come to you as I'm guessing you have an idea. Thanks.

    26:00 I believe you have mounted the 4 200x100mm extention screw bracket the reverse side, the bracket should be sit flush to the monitor not bended inwards.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what I thought as well. I followed the instructions and this was the way it said to use them. The VESA mount has been 100% stable so no complaints either way. I will say that I prefer a one-piece bracket for peace-of-mind so have just picked one up. This is because I'm mounting something else to the arm as well though. Video on that is coming shortly!

    Hi Lawrence , i bought cintiq 27QHD non touch with ergotron arm LX , and Arrowmounts AM-201D Vesa 400 x 200 adaptor , right now i am doomed the adapter is not centered and the screen is not balanced on the arm , am i doing something wrong like i bought the wrong adapter ? if so would you please recommend adapter for me . many thanks .

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was it this LX Sit Stand Desk Mount LCD arm or the regular LX arm? If it was the regular LX arm (that I've shown in previous videos with the Wacom 21UX) then it's probably just the case of that arm not being able to cope with the weight of the 27QHD. If you have this arm then it's most likely a matter of adjusting the tension bolts on the arm as per the manual.

    Hi, Lawrence. Thx for video, it pushed me to buy this device. I draw a lot and daily and ran into a problem. The problem is that the tablet swings by weight, constant shaking during work is very annoying and you have to hold the tablet with your hands. On a standard stand, the tablet is stable and when you switch to Ergotron, this is strongly felt. How did you cope with this problem?
    Thanks again for the video.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, glad I could help! If you have time then I'd appreciate a quick tweet to Ergotron on Twitter or Facebook to let them know I've helped you! Does me good to let companies know ;D #SpreadTheWord!
      Have you tightened the joints properly? Try going around each one again with the allen keys again. I keep mine handy by the desk and every couple of months just give them a quick squeeze. Also - don't lean on your tablet. It's bad for the screen anyway. You may not realise you're doing it but it'll take years off the Wacom and that causes the problem for most people. You just have to train yourself to 'work above'it. I had to learn this back when I was inking comics because of smudging! haha. Joy oh joy!

    • @michaelsavier246
      @michaelsavier246 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the answer. I do not lean on the tablet, I'm not an idiot) The tablet swings even with accurate work with the pen, the key, unfortunately, does not solve this problem. At the moment I'm working with an improvised emphasis (put a towel on table), but it's a crutch. On your video, the tablet also swings when you're working, but apparently you're used to this style of work. I'll try to work another week with Ergotron, if not accustomed, then I will return the original stand.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to tell people all the time not to lean on tablets. lol. I see it a lot in other videos. Some people don't even realise they do it so it's worth saying you understand.
      There is a slight movement of course but it's ever so small. How much is yours moving? It'll never be rock solid of course - you know that because you can't lock off the joints. These things are made for monitors and not tablets.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can make a lot of adjustments to the tension so that's really up to you. I find there are a couple of positions which give me maximum stability. When you want to move the Wacom tablet, gently pulling with both hands gives you enough momentum to pivot the tablet to your next drawing position.

    I just setup my LX Ergotrom. I didn't realize it only allows 5 degrees down tilt when I bought it. I hoped to be able to use it from my couch as easy chair as well, with it above me. I guess that's why they called it stand and sit. I have wrote them about it. Also I've tried to adjust the tilt so it stays in place on the 5 degrees down but it just floats back up to the 0 degrees no matter which way I turn the screw. Maybe I'd need to mount it on the ceiling to get the angle I want...lol

I heard of people cutting or bending the stops out so it goes more then 5 degrees on the down turn so basically the screen faces down if you were more in a horizontal position. I did write Ergotrom to ask their opinion on the subject but they haven't responded. I am wondering why they put the stoppers in, if it was for safety. The few that have done this don't say anything about it not being secure or any other issues because they did this, though it might effect warranty if it ever came up.

    • @rls5619
      @rls5619 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I now have a response from Ergotrom, I will quote it, "Removing the stoppers is not a safety issue but we do not recommend it and it will void the warranty.
      The only suggestion they have on the tilt not holding is to continue decreasing lift strength (counterclockwise). It may take many turns for it to hold on the downward tilt."

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That did pass through my mind as well but I imagined you had adjusted this as much as possible already?

    • @rls5619
      @rls5619 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LAWRENCEcanDRAW I tightened it as much as I could, it slowed down but still slowly goes back up. Any tighter I feel like I will break the allen key or my scrape my hand trying. They responded one more time after this, and I quote what they said.
      " I am not sure what was behind this design, but it does have that limitation. I apologize this product isn't working for you.
      We have a different product that has a 90 degree forward and backward tilt. Perhaps this would work better for you.
      MXV Desk Monitor Arm, Part No. 45-486-026 .
      "
      I'd still prefer this arm because of the reach.

    You've used both the LX Sit and Stand arm as Well as the standard LX. Have you used the standard LX with the 27QHD? What's the difference in reach? Im keen to know if the standard LX is long enough to allow the screen to be clamped at the rear and then reach and be used the edge of the desk without any issues? Cheers

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't use the standard LX with the 27QHD. It can't hold the weight and the arm will constantly lower whenever you let go of it. The reach isn't as good on the standard LX either. Note; if you use extension arms, this lowers the weight capabilities of the arm you use. The LX LCD Sit/Stand I show here and have a link to in the description can handle the 27QHD but not when you add an extension. It's reach is great though. If the reach isn't long enough then you can drill a hole and place it closer to you and that will also make it more secure.

    Hi Lawrence, thank you for the helpful videos! I'm trying to get the hd sit stand arm but can't find a retailer that will send it to my country... I did find the older sit stand and the regular lx arms in local stores, both of them suppose to handle up to 11.3kg do you think they will work the same as yours? thanks again!

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI Udi, I use the normal LX arm for my laptop. I used to use it with the Cintiq 21UX and that was great. But the 27QHD is of a certain size and weight that it really needs a bigger arm, otherwise it won't support the tablet. I talked directly to Ergotron about this and they advised me on this arm so I'd say it's probably best to keep looking.
      What country are you in? Have you tried buying directly from Ergotron? You could contact them via Twitter to ask about suppliers in your area.

      thanks for replying! I'm from Israel, the Ergotron site is where i found the stores here but only one of them have this specific model and they sell it for more than the original Wacom ergo stand costs here (630$!), I'm wondering about the regular sit-stand (not HD), it looks exactly the same only the weight capacity is a bit lower, still in the cintiq range though
      I'll try asking Ergotron on Tweeter. thank you!

    Thanks for this, should prove helpful, my ergotron LX sit-stand arm arrived the other day, just ordered the 27QHD (had to go for non-touch, wouldn't have been able to get away with spending nearly 2 grand for something i'd probably only use in zbrush anyway.) that should arrive by wednesday. My only issue with the ergotron's instructions is they're lacking a little annotation in parts, so i'd know WHAT tools i'd need, i one is needed that isn't supplied, for the clamp bracers, hopefully i can find something to tighten them properly with, if i can't find whatever the instructions are telling me to use.

    Hi Lawrence, I am just curious why you decided to use the grommet instead of the clamp.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The grommet is simply more secure and with an arm and tablet this large it's nice to have that added security. Also, I have a large desk with a depth of 80cm front to back and if I use the clamp then it has to be mounted right at the back but using the grommet I can bring the arm closer and get more length/reach which is great. Okay, so you do have to drill a hole in your desk but having used an Ergotron arm previously, I was happy to do so. Hope that helps!

      Certainly for the 27QHD. Here's a link to one that will do perfectly for you: amzn.to/2oRlsZe I'm not sure if the 22HD uses 200x100 or 100x100 mounting. You've have to check the specs.

    • @Harrison11106
      @Harrison11106 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the 22HD touch version. The regular Ergotron arm & hook ups (100 x 100) work fine with it. I've also seen a couple of videos with the Amazon Basics version of the Ergotron arm work fine & dandy with the 22" version. It's the 27" version that appears to need some extra hook ups on the Ergotron side.
      The 22" version is 20 ibs, & the Ergotron has no problems with the weight. I hear that the 27" is actually a bit lighter then the screen I have. If true, then it should be zero hassles, apart from that extra Ergotron hook up.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard a couple of people mention those Amazon arms in the past but my argument is - why pay a lot of money for a great tablet just to mount it on the cheapest thing you can find?!?! They handle the stresses and strains as well as the Ergotron brand arms and if something goes wrong then your expensive tablet smashes to the ground. Wacom won't replace it either because they'll just tell you that you dropped it and even under warranty that's your fault. Sure, search out another brand if you can find a really good one you like but don't trust what could be a few thousands of dollars to balance on the budget arm.
      Also Ergotron has a really good Warranty. Not sure what the Amazon one has off the top of my head. The cheap on might work if you never ever moved it but I'd also like to point out that if you're an artist who likes to move your tablet around a lot (probably why you want an arm) then that's where you need an arm that's better built!
      Which arm are you using with your 22HD? Is it the standard LX (amzn.to/2nssz9N) Or is it the arm in this video? LX Sit-Stand Desk Mount LCD Arm: amzn.to/2nFlZxR

    • @Harrison11106
      @Harrison11106 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The standard LX. Probably the best purchase I got for my Cintiq, next to the screen protector (made of money I am NOT). Hindsight being 20/20, I probably should have gotten the optional extension for the arm, but I can always get that at a later date.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use the extensions but not with the 27QHD on either arm. Every time you put an extension arm on, you reduce the load capacity of the arm and you have to account for that. Cross-check all specs for weight and size before creating a set-up ;) If you;re not sure then Tweet @Ergotron + @LAWRENCEcanDRAW and we'll both try help!

    Very nice video, I am pondering if I should mount my 24HD on one of those arms as well. (both for desk space and cable management) I am however concerned about it's weight, and if there's a wobble in the arm while working. Nobody likes a moving canvas! xD

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a video about choosing the right arm for your tablet - you can find that in my Ergotron playlist. That will make sure you don't get any wobble. This arm is probably the best one for the 24HD though!

    • @YukasMarvin

      The last few websites I checked say this stand can only hold 11.3 kg though. While my tablet surely is heavier then that (almost 15 kg!).

      hi, you can get the exact same tabletop from ikea's personlig range. they will custom make it with thickness from 2.8cm -7cm they even offer aluminium trim which I got myself. I just bought some industrail legs separately. 😉 if you want a pic of mine I'll post a link.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's kitchen counter-top, I just looked it up! lol It'll do the job but it's not the "Exact" same and you have to have seperate legs. I have two huge sturdy legs that are built to house computers and other goodies. You can see them for yourself in the video. They are a big reason I love this desk. Ikea's counter is only 63cm in depth where as mine is 80cm.
      The Ikea top is a good idea for a clean white desk. Ultimately with an Ergotron you need a strong sturdy desk. As long as you've got that then you're set! Hope it works out well. Post some pics on Twitter when you've got it together and let me see @LAWRENCEcanDRAW

    • @theandroids

      LAWRENCEcanDRAW I terms of look/size you can get Ikea to 'custom make' the EXACT same looking table top "counter top" as yours, not there is a difference with the tops unless yours is made from a special unknown material. Then you can make or use what ever you wont to hold it up, legs/cabinets whatever. This is better as you can make the desk more unique than just a standard store bought item. :)
      some example here, these have a added optional cool aluminium edge but yeah..

      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That looks good but I'm happy with my limited-edition 'store bought' desk. I like the dipped storage at either side. Fits my needs perfectly for now!
      Next time I'm actually gonna go for a sit/stand ergonomic desk from +Ergotron. It's important to be able to work ergonomically when you're at your desk drawing & painting for 12-18 hours a day. While I do love my desk, I want to improve my studio space further - Maybe move away from the big bulky desk and go for something more streamlined & based around a way of working rather than having a great looking desk that makes a statement.
      With a son now playing in the studio too, it's time to make the office more kid-friendly and have more floor space. That's another factor in wanting the sit/stand desk rather than this behemoth. haha. I'm thinking of getting rid of my chair altogether and having an ergonomic still which is smaller and child-friendly too.
      All of these decisions also come from wanting to make the studio better for filming future TH-cam videos too.
      You just reminded be that I had a blue desk about ten years ago with aluminum trim that was from Ikea. It was actually two desks put together as an 'L' shape with pole legs and cable organisation underneath. Nice desk at the time.

      Ah, standard LX arms are slightly different but won't come with the VESA adapters because they can't support larger monitors & tablets. The 22hd is the largest (maybe the 24 at a push) that the LX can handle. Check the weight & size specs on the official site just to be 100% sure. You'll need to compare them with the specs of the tablet you are using. Little bit of math but if you consider upgrading your tablet then it's good to know for sure if the arm can take it!

    I love your videos. They are really helpful and encouraging when having serious doubts for making a choice. I still doubt between the ergotron and the wacom ergostand, because my habits...I tend to rest over the drawing surface (As I am a long time artist in an old fashion regular board table) so I am worried if the ergotron can actually stand YOU resting a bit over the cintiq or if it has a position or button that makes the arm totally rigid at your will. I dont know if I am being clear. Maybe you said in the video and I missed it.....your accent is hard for me. regards.

    Does the ergotron fight you/want to go up?

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No because I've made the right adjustments with the hexagonal keys. I show this step in the video. Are you having that problem?

      @@LAWRENCEcanDRAW I was with the lighter monitors but the weight of a cintiq took care of this.

    Wait so the vesa adapter came with your arm?

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but I've heard somebody say they didn't get one. I'm not 100% sure if they ordered direct or if there were other factors involved though. I got mine in the box and it was also marked as included on the instructions. Hope that helps.

      I did replace it with the RiteAV VESA Adapter Mount for LCD & Plasma TVs (Identical to the one I show here): amzn.to/2oEgXkq for a time until I had to mount something else onto the arm in a later video :D

      Simplemente sostenga la tableta o la pantalla y muévala con las manos. Si no está seguro, tengo muchos otros videos de Ergotron que muestran la configuración y el uso de los brazos, también lo ayudarán.

    Hi, do you think this will hold a 34" ultra wide monitor?

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not necessarily about the size. It's more about the weight. Best thing to do is check the weight of the monitor against the weight capacity of the arm. You can find these listed on the product pages on the manufactures websites for both Ergotron and the company which creates your monitor. Remember that arm extentions reduce weight capacity. You'll also need to feel comfortable that your desk is solid and sturdy enough to handle the weight of your set-up. If you're still unsure then Tweet @Ergotron and double check your info. Hope that helps! #ShareALink ;D

      Thanks man. Their site recommended the most expensive arm instead of the Tall LX Arm which can also hold the weight of my monitor which is 6.4kg lol

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the arm I'm using for the 27" Cintiq here. I thought that would be the arm you need. It is a big screen you want to mount though! Glad to be of help! Make a comment if you purchase it. #ShareIfYouCare

      Yours is the LX "sit stand" tall, the one I might get is just the LX desk mount tall. I really don't know the real difference as they both support the weight. Anywho I will drop a line if I pull the trigger.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not 100% sure without looking at the specs. Maybe it is that the Sit/stand version has a longer pole.

  • @oimpe

    It seems to keep lowering on you, how tight can you actually make it to where it really doesn't lower?

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's because I'd only just installed it and it still needed adjusting. I didn't think 99% of people would spot it in the video - they didn't ;) haha

    you realized it that you have mounted the extension brackets VESA, on the contrary?
    The 4 arms are slightly bent in L, and must protrude toward the outside (toward the monitor) not inwards ... Check them. Risk of straining the rear plastic of your cintiq. ;)

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was fixed straight away after filming. I've since replaced the four
      arms with a more dedicated one piece bracket which is more sturdy all
      together!

      Hi Lawrence thanks for the review! In this comment above, have you changed the arms for something else? I want to order the LX sit and stand for my Cintiq 22HD.

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mike, not the arms of the Cintiq. Just the VESA adapter (four little arms that attach the Cintiq to the Ergotron arm). I simply ordered a normal one-piece 200x100 VESA adapter on eBay. Hope that helps!

      Hi Lawrence. I have a Cintiq 27qhd and I'm switching from the Ergo stand to the sit-stand desk mount and just ordered it. Could you send me a link to the VESA adapter you bought so I know what it looks like? I've seen several with reviews and there are people are taking about needing longer screws.
      Are either of these the one you bought? www.amazon.com/Atdec-AC-AP-2010-Adaptor-200x100mm-75x75mm/dp/B002N8A1GU/ref=cm_rdp_product and www.amazon.com/Universal-Adapter-Medium-Mounts-Bracket/dp/B00U3DQO6I/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1483683321&sr=8-19&keywords=vesa+adapter

      As long as it's 200x100 it should be fine. Sorry I don't click on links or offer personal recommendations unless you're a Patreon - No offense. CAN I ASK HOW BIG IS THAT HOLE?

    • @LAWRENCEcanDRAW
      @LAWRENCEcanDRAW  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can't remember. It just has to be big enough for the bolt to go through. That's it. Don't make it any bigger than you need to. A few mm won't make a difference. As long as both plates cover the hole completely.

      Why do you assume I'm trying to make fun of the arm? Obviously I want to have a bit of light hearted humor with it but that's it.
      As for someone to help in the videos, I'd love to if there was someone I could trust.
