Thank you so much Hale , you won’t believe , this weekend I hocked my hand with triple hook size 16 , so tiny , and so luck enough I saw your video a week ago , I sued your method number two to push it throw then cut it with pliers, it was super painful , but it really saved me some time and money from going to the ER. I truly and kindly appreciate your help educating our community here with this kind of situation, as you say always , “service on other is the rent we pay here on earth “ .

You're absolutely right. Get it out ASAP. I had to do the same, on site, when a nail slipped out of it's wood ant through the space between my thumb and first finger. I could have gone to the emergency care, or pull it. I pulled it, wrapped it with a piece of shirt and electrical tape. When home, I treated it properly. No expensive medical bill. Good job, good advice, thanks for sharing that.

Thanks Matt. Fear was the bill at the doctor's visit had I gone. Motivation enough. LOL

can also stick a pin in next to it to take pressure off the barb and pull it out so the barb isnt getting caught on its way out

Haven't heard this method but probably same idea as pressing on the hook shank so it doesn't catch on the way out. Thanks.

I had a 10 lb Snook jab one of my lure hooks strait to the bone in my finger. Was no pushing it through. Went to the ER and the doc knew exactly what he was doing, it took 2 seconds. He walked into the room with large bore syringe, fed it through the hook hole and maneuvered the hole of the large bore needle over the barb and pulled it right out. VIOLA

Dang...there are some good stories here in the comment section. I'm glad that doctor knew what to do. That was option 1, no brainer E.R. You always have to assess your options. Glad you live to tell the tale. Thanks for sharing your story. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Watch out for a pinch of nearby skin when using needle nose pliers to cut the hook.
Also, I cut the barbed end of the hook and pull the remaining hook out the way it came in to avoid creating a larger hole.

dam! Looks painful. I never had it that deep. but I always squeeze out as much blood as I can tolerate because the hook, or barb might have bacteria. And I always carry rubbing alcohol in my pack.

Always a good idea to have first aid kit in the backpack. Alcohol or any antiseptic is always an excellent idea. Thanks PK. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Also you should clean it up really good with alcohol, soap and water, apply triple antibiotic ointment, bandage and tetanus shot or tetanus booster... I used to do woundcare as a nurse.

Go look at professional Bass fisherman's hands. You learn this trick very quickly. I have a relative who is a professional and says the places on a body a hook as been embedded would surprise you. Ears, nose, feet, legs, upper arms and even backs.

Treble hooks are tricky. E.R. was probably a good decision. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

I had a rapala hit a tree behind me, then the branch let go as it sprung back, this all happened as I was casting. Both trebles embedded int the small of my back, they were in deep, I had a kid cut the line from the tree, he then cut the line as close as he could to my back. I had to drive home sitting on the edge of my seat. My wife grabbed some plyers, after ten minutes of her crying and freaking out she finally got them out. She was so afraid of hurting me that she wasn’t pulling hard enough, which made it worse.😂

Sounds worse than mine. Ouch! I can't imagine with treble hooks on your back. Glad you had a good outcome. 👌👌
