What both Theon in the books and show accomplished was making me dislike a character, then hating them, then REALLY hating them, then feel happy that they are suffering, then guilty for feeling that happiness, then pity for them.
If a character and story makes me feel, then it's a good character and story. A bad story is one that numbs the senses.

@@tonyaniehaus3296 It's interesting that you brought that up, because there's a theory where Euron is/was one of Brynden Rivers' apprentices.
I don't know if I buy that, tho. Euron seems pretty atheist by his conversations with Aeron, and if he was a three-eyed crow apprentice, i'm pretty sure he would, at least, believe in the Great Other and the Old Gods.

Lyanna's crown of blue roses... when Jon Snow is in the North with Mance Rayder, he hears a tale of a former King in the North with incredible skills as a bard, who sneaks across the Wall into Winterfell and steals the Stark King's daughter, leaving nothing but a pale blue rose. A year later, the Princess and a grandson are returned to Winterfell. Seems pretty direct connection with Lyanna [wearing the blue rose] running away with Rheagar to the Dawn Keep and having a son who would be in line to inherit Winterfell or be a king in turn.

I don’t think the faces he saw were necessarily long dead Starks as I don’t think that would make him have such an extreme reaction and the mention of them being so pale seems more like a description of the others.

I'm just finished with that chapter. Reading the books for the third time.
My belive is that the dreams Thron had was sent by Bran.
The reason why, well couple chapters earlier, Jon also had a wolfdream. He was in front of the weirwood, who had his brother face. And the sound of his name has come from the three. He had a tree eyes, he was a crow, and he said to Jon that he likes the dark beneath the ground. "No one can see you, but you can see them all". The three touched him and open his eyes.
It sound like Bran from Feast of the crows.
So the theory goes its not Bloodraven, it was Bran all along. He choose Bloodraven, not the other way around.
If anyone would ever read this comment it was something like Eren in Attack on Titans. He controlled the the whole story from beginning. He was the one who influence his own father to take a control of Founding titan.

Easily overlooked! I like that you bought up who was missing as well. Does that mean these people aren't dead or at least won't stay dead? That sort of fits the situation for the younger stark brothers who will be "killed" and yet live, as well as Jon who will likely be resurrected by Melisandre. Maybe it's a hint about Benjen Stark, perhaps he isn't dead either. I dunno, that's the only subtle hint I can think of. So if that's what you were leaning towards, I'd have to agree. @@timothyoverton3393 That's fine and all but crow and three eyed crow are two very different things. Bloodraven acknowledges that he was a crow at one point but its clear that he was correcting Bran's three eyed crow wording with something he identified with. I mean, if we assume Bloodraven is the three eyed crow just because he was a crow at one point then shouldn't literally all of the night's watch be labeled three eyed crows? And sure, bloodraven had a special connection with eyes but it was never three eyes...it was always a thousand eyes and one. So why three eyed crow?

Before you close the channel down could you do a few theories. 1. Why were the faceless men in kings landing and what are they looking for. 2. What if. Its Shireen baratheon and not patchface having the dreams she just tells patchface (her only friend). She has the dragon blood from Stannis so she's a dreamer. A master talks about the nightmare she's always been plagued with and I think she knows she'll be sacrificed to wake the shadow dragons that Danny sees in the house of the undying. 3. Could it be the Arthur dayne that killed the white bull and whent. I have a few more but..

I read the books after watching the show. Totally worth it in my opinion. The first three books are still pretty similar plotwise, though the thematic differences are apparent, but from feast for crows on it's so different that even the plot has fairly little to do with the show anymore besides some loose resemblances. At least try feast for crows and dance with dragons. For me though, I read all five books and I liked them much better than the show version of similar events.

Theon's story arc isn't about redemption, it's about identity, he doesn't have to redeem himself to the Starks since he truly owed them nothing, the only Stark he owed something is dead now. Theon's arc is about realizing that he's neither Stark nor Greyjoy but just Theon. This is why I think Stannis will execute him early on in The Winds of Winter. Having him "rEdEeM HiMsElF tO tHe sTaRks" is some corny fairytale bullshit which I'm sure GRRM wouldn't do.

Theon does have royal blood, and there is a chance the two farm boys he burnt were his own, sure they weren't burned alive but black magic happened before with far less dramatic sacrifices like Varys' manhood... so I believe Theon got what he paid for... the isolate prophetic dream may be the spoil of his Kinslay.
