The bravery, the sheer courage - I would never DARE! If I had a T3000 in working condition, I would never ever dare to mess with it. I would gently turn it on, use it, then gently power it down. No risk!! You sir, are a hero!
I like watching you solder and fix pads. I am completely ignorant when it comes to soldering anything. When I grab the soldering iron, my hands start shaking like an alcoholic.:) Greets from Poland.
I love watching your videos Chris, mostly hoping some of your talent rubs off somehow, Amigas! and the humour. Right! this afternoon I'm going to hopefully fix a Pioneer CLD-2950 Laserdisc remote control.
I just watched CRG, I believe he checks your channel out as well. He works on C64s and recently restored a VIC20. He works on other stuff as well. He mentioned the channel and I have been recommending your videos for help.
I have two 3640s that don't work. I decided to burn new GALs for one after recapping both fixed neither, but several tries at mounting the smaller of the PLCC sockets have failed (just no freaking room!) so it's now on the ever expanding back burner as the Warp 4040 and CS MkII '060 both work fine. I wanted to get one of the 3640s to work in the hope that I could trade it for a 3630 or sell it to finance a 3630 or 3630 build.
I know I had to mod the a3640 rev 3.0 to a 3.1 to work w/mediator, could that bodge be a mod? "The "cut and jumper" patch mentioned by Dave Haynie in the Definitive Buster section is: lift pin 6 of U200, and short pads 6 and 7 on U200 (for more details, see below). This, in combination with an upgrade to the U209 PAL, converts a 3.0 board to 3.1. The only difference between 3.1 and 3.2 boards is another upgrade to the same PAL. The 3.0 revision of the A3640 has enough problems and incompatibilities (reported not to work at all with A4000/030 rev D, for instance) that it's worth doing the cut and jumper patch even without the PAL upgrade."
Great stuff as always Dr Chris 👍🏻 Just goes to show, you can never get these things working the first time. Have seen different versions of these cards being offered for sale. I think I have a Rev 3.1? But seen that they go to rev 3.3 or 3.4? You can also buy upgrade PAL/GAL chip kits. Is this worth doing? Cheers 🍻
i have bad luck. so if it works it works, if they dont they dont. board swaps work , same chips, i show in future videos. idk about updating the 3.x to 3.2
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration Yeah. Sellers on Amibay offer up upgraded chips. Plus new ACILL boards that the Godfather himself has been involved in with rev 3.3 👍🏻😉.
You cannot save them all sir. Seems like you could use test setups for each model so you dont have to disassemble/reassemble your personal machines and save the year and tear on them.
Chris I need help I live in Ontario Canada and Im having trouble getting anyone to look at my two machines 500 black screen no power light cap lock is on when pushed and a 2000 that has mono video but has no RGB out put I enjoy your videos watch them all the time
hahah if you only know the story, when i was 21 i tried to do a ninja inverted flip to impress a girl, but i was too far up against something and super atomic headbutted it into a sharp piece of wood, slicing my head open. this is the scar from that. so there you go.
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration Haha! I did something similar: Did a backflip off a haystack thinking that the hay on the ground was 5-10 feet thick. Nope, went straight thru to the ground, with the noggin. lol
Another amazing video, although, tbh, I was more fascinated with the blurred part of the screen on your monitor.
Love seeing the A3000T again but it makes me miss the one that I used to have but had to sell. :(
weird science is begging to be rewatched.

What "magic flux" did you use? Got a amazon link? There are so many fake fluxes out there.
All parts in the extended desc of each video except that. Lol it’s Kester186 liquid noclean

Test swap the Mac 040 with this card.
