This 1200 is original owner too! My friend bought it way back then and has had it ever since. He gave it to me so that I could clean it up. So I had Dr.Chris attack it! :) Thank you Chris,
great as always! Had a blast hanging out too!

This was more like a Dr. Chris' Amiga rejuvenation clinic, a capacitor lift with an Amiga spa case cleansing. Good job, take care. 🙂

Thats a pretty good accelerator for the day, especially since it doesn’t need to be loaded with heatsinks and fans.

Another great Video Dr Chris 👍🏻 Shame you didn’t fit a resistor to pin 39 on the IDE 44 pin cable. That way the HDD light would work properly with the SD card reader. I always use the Lorena Bobbit method on the SMDs. Cheers 🍻

Looks like you may want to try the Wizard mice from your archives, black/white switched to Amiga (vs. Atari) to replace the bad mice that feed on your patience

Love your videos. Just a question, have you seen that Commodore has been raised from the grave? A real Commodite company? Commodore 64X with LOTS of new features? Just wondering if you might explore on your site.

never. its a ITX PC running linux with the Commodore OS Vision DWM which you can download for FREE. if you want a yellow C64 case go for it, Pear a frack dick is a sellout. dont fall for the hype.

Question, maybe I'm allowed to ask that here. I recently recapped my Escom PAL A1200, as it started to crash randomly, with or without my turbo board. I reversed the pc-floppydrive mod first thing when I got it to make it even usable. Recapping went fine (used 'your' method to remove the caps) and it works fine first try after doing so. However, it booted in NTSC now, rather than PAL. I triple checked the solder points I made but all seems fine. Switching between NTSC and PAL using software still works fine. I ended up lifting pin 41 from Alice, which made it default to PAL again. So recapping made a change somewhere so Alice pin 41 was grounded now. I obviously never checked that pin before recapping.
It works perfectly fine now, all tests pass just fine and all games and programs run without error.
Have you ever heard of something like that?

unless you accidently blobed some solder on a close component bridging it down.

@ChrisEdwardsRestoration yeah but there's no caps around Alice, maybe some ceramic smd ones, not I've not even come close to Alice. Very weird. But it's still working perfectly with the pin lifted.

I got sick to death with the drive light staying on with my SD card adapter in my desktop cased A1200 so I went back to a (500Gb) 2.5" IDE drive.

You just need to place a resistor on pin 39 of the cable to fix that 👍🏻
