Another solid repair job Chris! I've been using the old nail file on the pins of an old Apple IIe board which had gotten very dark on the metalwork. Tried IPA, tried contact cleaner... ended up sanding them. Works like a charm. Apple used some nasty ass sockets too in those days!
Great stuff as always Dr Chris 👍🏻 One day…Maybe one day I will get around to looking at the A3000 I bought a couple of years ago and ascertain what needs repair… 😬🙄 Cheers 🍻
Love everything you do and watch all! The pcb schematics that you bring up on the right minitor.... I have pcb explorer but I like your better... different site? Ty AMIGA
Ahh thank you for another relaxing 45min on one of my favorite YT channels. Love your humor Chris. Im always wondering if it is possible to get the software you are using for tracing the pcb. I use amiga pcb explorer online for now but I like the tool you are using. Anyone know more about this?
Hey Chris, recapping my 3000 and all is working fine so far, but have left the ones with large ground planes. My soldering station is hakko fx-888d (65w) and can't seem to heat them up enough for a successful connection, but don't want to destroy the board or caps with too much heat. Any advice? what temp do you desolder/solder these? Keep up the videos, you're an inspiration to us Amiga users.
Hakko. Lol. Get a wep tools station and never look back. But. Idk if 65watts will do it. My weak hakko is the same as yours. Hence why i switched to weptools. I desolder groundplanes at 850f, i also use those fingerdrills for stubborn groundplanes.
Hi Chris! I also have a black screen from my a3000 which turns yellow when I remove daughterboard for testing and which passes all diagrom test normally (through serial). Should I also focus on denise and check the same roots? Thank you in advance!
@ yes I just did it to check if I will get a yellow screen which did happen. I placed it back and I just removed Denise to do the check you did but everything was perfect and no corrosion but still black screen with little bit of white although in diagrom tests through serial it passes all test! 🤯😞
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration I finally saw the light! 😁 I changed the Tick jumper because I have an aftermarket atx psu and removed the fast ram and it worked! I put back the fast ram though and it doesn’t recognize it at all although all banks are full and has poor performance in sysinfo! Is tick jumper position connected somehow with the fast ram or should I check all zip ram one by one so as to see if I have faulty ones? Thank you in advance!
What a complete horror show. Wow! Amazing save!! I've seen less get tossed aside. Dr. Chris truly is our Amiga savior!
300 Saved AMIGAs!!! WOOHOO!!! 😀👍
300 times thank you
Congratulations on saving 300 Amigas and thank you and keep up the good work.

Brilliant 'Sleuthing' there Chris! -Mark.

It is a program called Sprint layout viewer, and we have all of the schematic files for the large majority of the units
Pretty much the exact same fault I fixed on my A3000 🙂
"300+ Amigas are alive- *Or ON EBAY* because of us" LOL. Prob 340 by now.
Shalom!)

You need the doctor board in or it will yellow screen. It is required to boot start with your Denise Chip

"Frackenballs" - Dr. Chris. Must be German.
For now my A600 work fine. I do recap before 1 year. I have lucky because A600 haven`t battery and no rust.
