@@kevalan1042 its ok, but the devices main focus is the writing paper replacement experience, if you want a device that is good (not excellent) at everything get yourself an ipad

In terms of the battery optimisation, some users were seeing their devices stop charging at random percentages (eg. charges to 73% and stops). This update fixes that.
After installing the update, my device has (twice) stopped charging at random percentages. : (
@@robertmaction I've read you need to turn off the device for a good 45mins after the update. If still in doubt contact Ratta service they're pretty good

@21:19+ ... what like I enjoy with the Psion EPOC32 software functionality from almost 25 years ago! ;) Seriously though... Rata are the nearest device to edging towards what my NetBook does, through their absolutely amazing software developments. I was a very early adopter of A5X and have never regretted that bold gamble. It is always going to be hard to get near to what Psion did with EPOC32 (5mx, MC218, NetBook and others) ... but I am delighted that a company has the same 'brain wiring' as me for logical interfaces and layouts. By contrast, my Planet Computing Cosmo Communicator gets very little use - not because the physical design isn't impressive ... more because Planet have been ULTRA lazy by not designing and IMPROVING software, the way Rata has been uber Kaizen with by comparison. Thankyou Voja once again for your wonderfully easy to follow TH-cam Rata Suoernote insights :)
Thanks for the review. The function of hiding page numbers you mentioned but couldn’t find is probably this one: when you’re in a document then at the bottom of the page you will by default see a box showing the current page number (2/4 for example). Now if you think this is in the way and you want more of a full screen view, you can click at that bottom area, and the details will disappear.
And isn’t your A5X on beta, hence the version name?
Another great video. I watched this one after your 3 "in depth" videos which were very helpful and informative. Did you try/test if there was an improvement with transcribing? You did not have positive results in your in depth video, so just wondering if it improved with this release. Otherwise, based on your thorough and prepared videos, I am going to press the "buy now" button for the Super Note A6X. Well done. Now I'm going to watch your My Daily Organizer 2022 video. FYI Voja. The differences in software release numbers on the two devices is most likely because you have the A5X registered in the Supernote Early Testers Program (ETP).
The latest software version for ETP is Chauvet 2.1.12_beta
For standard devices the latest software is Chauvet 2.2.12

You noticed the same degradation in touch responsiveness that I did, but for my A5X it seemed to be related to the contrast. If I increased it, the responsiveness slowed, when I turned down contrast all the way, it returned to faster responsiveness.
Not sure if you have the same results, but something I noticed.
Looking back at your video, though, it appears you did set it back to minimum contrast, so may not be related to what you were experiencing.
Hi Voja, short question. I already have Boox Max Lumi (it has some shortcomings, but I like it). I would like to get one 10' device. Should I try Supernote or stick to Boox and go for Air 2 because of syncing notes between Lumi and Air?
What would You do?

It would make most sense to go with the Note Air 2 and stick with the ecosystem you already know and can seamlessly share between the two devices.

Hello! I’m sure you have been asked many times, and I’m sorry if I am being redundant - but - are you planning on making the MDO 2023? And, if so, when do you think it will be available? I have become completely dependent on MDO. I had both 2021 and 2022. It is my go to organizer!! By far!

I basically read e-books (or pdf's) and (also) I like to make notes in separate documents. Which devices support this? Spilt screen? Toggling?
Both support this, Boox devices have a very powerful and flexible split screen mode.
Is your digital planner functional on the supernote A6x? I love the small factor but I’m not sure if this would work on it ? Thank you

Is it possible to trim (crop) the PDF, and THEN apply landscape mode? Also, what is the maximum PDF file size that the A5X can handle? I have some read big PDF textbooks that are bigger than 200 Mb!
I have just tried it, and no, that's not something you can do. As for the large Pdfs, well I just opened an 800MB PDF without a problem, so yeah, it can handle that.
@@MyDeepGuide Thank you so much for the extra information, Voja! Your videos are really helpful for me as an academic. I'm just waiting for the "native" PDF text highlighting feature to be implemented in the Supernote, so I can export my annotations to a reference manager software like Zotero. Together with split view, that would really be a game changer. Cheers!
One thing I've wondered, as I get closer to making the final decision to get a Supernote - probably an A6X - is: can you disable touch input if you just want to use the pen? I can't imagine that no one rests their hand on the screen while writing.
My 2-in-1 laptop has an active stylus and you can disable touch input while using a drawing app. Unfortunately I haven't found how to do that for any normal software like Photoshop, which is really where I would like that feature.
Yes, you can, but the Supernote has an excellent mode which is a two fingered swipe, instead of one. This basically completely eliminates involuntary hand gestures and let's you use page flipping when you want to.

Many readers use e-readers in portrait position because it is the natural position of books. I have an iPad mini 4 and I read in landscape to increase the width of the screen considerably. It's a great trick.
I haven't watch all your reviews, but can you say something about the e-reading experiences. Does the Supernote A6X or Boox Note Air 2 meet the standards of for instance Kindle or Kobo. I mean: reading in bed (amber light), reading in the sunlight and are the 'waterproof when I sit in bath? Thanks so far !!!
Neither are waterproof, Boox has a very good dual frontlight, although I love the quality and uniformity if the Kobo's front light the best. Supernote doesn't have a frontlight. You should also keep in mind that Boox devices (most of them) are note taking devices, which means that the screen has an additional Wacom layer for the support of passive EMR styli and they have paperlike layer on top as well, to dela with reflections and provide a pleasant writing feel. This means that the image quality will be slightly less precise than on e-reader screens that don't have those extra 2 layers on top.
For those of you who are Mac users and have one of these supernotes, how well do they work together?
Not sure what you mean by working together. They are not designed to be seamless so the "working together" is really just sharing files between the two and that works in three possible ways. Dropbox, Supernote Cloud, or direct connection with an FTP app on you Mac (the one I use is Android File Transfer). Personally I like Drop Box the best, I have an alias on my desktop for the Supernote Folder on my drop box and whenever I sync the A5X it syncs with the Dropbox. That is, by the way, one "limitation" of the A5X, you actually have to choose to sync it. It does not automatically sync. I put limitation in quotes there because I don't see it as a limitation but some do, I see it as a benefit (more on that in the last sentence). There is another limitation in that the Supernote Notes can only be used on the A5x, you can't open them on other devices. But to make up for that the Supernote "Note" file can be exported to a .pdf if you want to share any notes you took with members of a team or such.
As to "working together" the primary reason I got the Supernote was because it was NOT an iPad, in that it doesn't integrate across platforms, there is no browser, there are no notifications, it is an electronic notebook with some extra features like sync to email and calendars. It is distraction free and that is the primary reason I went with it. If you are looking for a seamless integration between your Supernote and Mac, go with an iPad you will likely be happier, but if you are looking for something to get you disconnected from the distracting world that is the internet and all things "app" related, the Supernote may be a good option for you. The best description of this can be found on CPO's TH-cam channel titled "How to Choose an e-ink Tablet" I'd check that out. Hope this was helpful

I just want to be able to take notes, save them for each client, I intend on having "running" notes for each one. When the transaction is complete then I could save those notes to the same place where their contracts and other documents are stored. If I can convert or save them as pdf all the better. Thanks
