Bought a Japanese PS2 myself and have been learning Japanese the last 7 years i can say this it felt good to get like a $3 copy of a game that's like $200 by itself here in the USA... Plus a excuse to learn some more Japanese or figure out how to read things. Lol...some of these games are getting ridiculous in price. Even with shipping and all the games I bought it was at least half the price of what I would have spent here on the same games...
I recently bought a Japanese translucent blue PS2 costed me about 100 dollars mainly because I just liked the way it looked but I installed a ssd in it with fmcb and been playing my childhood games but later down the road Im gonna buy some Japanese ps1 & ps2 games mostly fighting games because Idk Japanese and you don’t really need to know Japanese to play fighting games and I noticed they’re a lot cheaper in Japan so Im hoping to get those in the future.
I wanna own a Japanese PS2 fat so I can play KH1 and KH2, both vanilla and Final Mix versions. I know there already in English and some have English patches and whatnot. But I don't care.
I know you prefer physical copies which is awesome. I agree but due to budget I’ll try games first on another method (cd-r and free mcboot) so that I can be sure the money will be well spent on the actual physical copy. Question is can you use free mcboot on a Japanese unit and will it allow NTSC-U cd-r backups? Thanks for the video
I would assume that free mcboot works on a jpn system but you should probably check some guide to make sure. Early on I did look into getting free mcboot or other mods on a PAL PS2 but I felt they all had some annoyances, so in the end just went with a Japanese console. Also if you just wanna try out games, then a PS2 emulator could probably work for that.
Esim. SD Gundam G Generation ja Super Robot Wars. 😃
I don't think most games on the ps2 have that option. You'll have to mod your ps2 and patch the disc with an english patch you find online (if it exist, not every game has one). You can search up tutorials on youtube that'll help guide you.

I bought a Japanese slim ps2 by accident cause the seller didn't mention it but yes Fmcb does work with Japanese version
Very nice I love the PS2 even to this day.
When I think of Japan and Japanese I really want to eat some Japanese peanuts 😋.
When I play Foreign games I use Google lens translate for all the menus and dialogue. Its a game changer.
Excuse you Peter Jackson’s King Kong is one of the absolute BEST movie tie in video games! Complete opposite of shovelware! You should get it on ps2!
cool video as usual :)
Nice video ^^

Can you help me I just bought a Japanese PS2 and I'm tryna work it with sonic heros from America please
The system will only play Japan region games unless you mod chip it witch is pretty difficult

PS1 and N64 the best
How do you change it to English 😢
