Outside of stuff like Shikigami no Shiro II, most shmups wouldn't have fit in his under $50 total range, he would not have been able to pick up as much as he did if he picked up a shmup.
I played all of the Budokai games to hell and back when they were first released, it's been fun going back and playing them again. I forgot how whacky the second game is with its board game story mode.
Really good selection, Jim. And for those who want to play Sonic Heroes get the GameCube or Xbox version since they don't have all the glitches that the PS2 version had.
I have the PS2 version of Sonic Heroes and I could never get past that one round building in the futuristic city zone where Tails has to jump between platforms as the room fills up with lava due to the horrible fixed camera on the ceiling. Fortunately for me, it was a Value Village thrift store purchase so I didn't waste more than $5 or $6 Canadian on it.
PS2 is one of the cheaper systems to collect for imo. Some of the games you can get cheap are Katamari Damacy, SSX 3, Tekken 5, Burnout 3, Tony Hawk 3, and Final Fantasy X.

In the US it's just a bunch of jerks trying to offload loose copies of Super Mario Bros on Craigslist for $1000. :p Unrelated, I bet Eric Kelso would have some interesting opinions on the Hellena Taylor Bayonetta 3 voice acting situation.
He try's to pick games that are friendly for none japanese speakers. But yea I own that one as well as a lot of japanese exclusives I wouldn't even buy a single game in the video list.

Shooters, or shmups really aren't that cheap for the PS2 outside of maybe stuff like Shikigami no Shiro II, aka Castle of Shikigami II. Japanese RPG's don't tend to be language friendly to non Japanese speakers.

Other than Sonic Heroes those were a pretty good selection of games. Especially your choice of fighters. Man did Budokai 3 give me heavy nostalgia.

Yeah, there are lots of very common PS2 games that can be bought for just a few bucks.
In my PS2 I like to have Godhand Darkwatch Urban Reign God of War 1 and 2.

Pretty much every Guilty Gear game on the PS2 is $10 or less in Japan, for the time being at least.
