27:19 Should have noted that there is a limit on refunding, so i can't refund every game
37:05 Should have noted that the soundtrack is not original. The game is not low effort so they probably licensed it - เกม
Déjà Drift is continuing its development. It's worth supporting: store.steampowered.com/app/1914390/Dj_Drift/
(not sponsored, just recommendation)
Please encourage ppl who pick it up to ad a review as the Game will only hit the algorithm with ~10 reviews (not free gifts by devs) so to really help the devs give them a review
You should do one on Rocky Ride as the company who made this EA (not Electronic Art) is a mystery
@Muskeln-kaufendeto be honest, making garbage and pricing it up to $20 is a douche move
@Muskeln-kaufende if i sell shitty whey and supplements, and have fun selling the shitty whey and supplements, and people buy this whey and supplements does this make the products good
@Muskeln-kaufendeCritics are necessary for improvements and development, without them a shitty game will stay a shitty game. See how developers here are not faze by what you call "Insults" from Sepi's Commentary. Because He is right, He is a player trying out the game and just giving honest critivs, If you can't take critics then I dont know man. I think you are the ignorant here.... and lets be real, if a Developer or hell every creator of something enjoyed making it and horribly executed their ideas properly then They pretry much needs to take in those critics for improvement
Déjà Drift developer here. It's nice to hear what you thought about our game! We released the game last August right before I started my senior year of college. That was our deadline because I knew I would be too busy with senior projects to keep working on it. I've since graduated and we are now deciding how we are going to move forward with the project. Big thanks to those of you who joined our Discord server, told us about this video, and asked us to keep working on it!
Do multiplayer and fix it it will be big W - maybe some implementations of deja vu in MP
uhm uhm uhm can i get an early access key plz
Sometimes I love the internet
I would like to see your game fixed/polished. I would buy it asap
$5? Bought. I wanna see this grow

As an asset developer, and the developer of NWH Vehicle Physics 2 which is frequently the top selling vehicle physics for Unity, this video was interesting to watch. Most of the issues seen in the video (in regards to the driving physics) could have been solved with a bit of tweaking. E.g., the karting flipping over in corners is because the developer placed the center of mass somewhere far below the kart - essentially turning it into a pendulum. The cars that do not want to steer most likely either have CoM or inertia messed up, etc.
A failing on the user's end that ends up being blamed on the dev?
Unfortunate par for the course in SWE
Keep fighting the good fight brother ✊️
Oh hi!
@@kohai-kun9261 Well, vehicle physics are quite complex and have a lot of parameters that need to be tweaked just right to get that 'feel' of realism. Just one thing being off can throw the whole thing off. I do provide a setup wizard, but still some knowledge of vehicle physics is velocome on the dev side.
@@imDanoush Hello there :)
I think you mean the center of mass on the kart is ABOVE it, not below it, like how trucks easily flip for being very tall
It’s always sad to see games that developers genuinely put time and effort into with good concepts get buried in steam to never been noticed. It’s like painting an exhibition for an art gallery but they put it at the back of the museum and don’t tell anybody it’s there. There might genuinely be great stuff that nobody has ever seen or heard of.
Might, but as this video demonstrates it's pretty unlikely. If you're referring to Déjà Drift, it clearly needs more time in the oven as well. I'm sure if they work on it it will go places
Eh, you comparing it to being in a museum might give a hint why it happens. They should be happy they can even put their stuff in there, like how starting musicians use a distributor which everyone can use to get their stuff on say Spotify. Doesn’t mean it should always be a succes.
That’s why you don’t try to make games, cause that just happens and then you wasted all of your freaking time.
but the time and effort on mostly 95% of these games, was not worthy. Just 1 or 2 games were good (not even great), and that´s it. They deserve to be on the dark side of Steam.
wow you just described hidden gem
The devs really put Hitler in the car 5:28 💀
💀
I mean, it _is_ a Porsche...
@@CWINDOWSsystem32I mean, yeah but Volkswagen would've been better.

Nice!
That total price was as calculated as the total points in that one Chinese FH5 tournament.
Regardless, quite a hefty price to pay for our entertainment. I appreciate the dedication.
now you know where the prize money went
To be fair it's likely he refunded many of them, Steam allows for 2 hours of playtime or 2 weeks(without exceeding the 2h) of ownership before you become inelligible for a refund
i only refunded a few (there is a limit on how many games you can refund in a certain period of time)
@@seP4 oh I had no idea there was a limit, thanks for the clarification! The video was impressive enough alone but that certainly adds to it
@@seP4 also refunds give you a special internal flag on steam which affects some of the community features, such as card drops. No official info though, just autopsy.
duuude this is your best video so far, the dedication to play the worst games on the platform for this long is insane
gives me motivation to continue my own game
freelance trucker is peak kino smh
@@cynthiacrescent fr that one was actually a decent game
I wouldn't call all of them "worst games". Deja Drift and Galaxy's Extreme seem like actually solid games that are only held back by their lack of updates.
@@adotang_ I think you know what I mean, I think Deja Drift and Freelance Trucker were good games, but most were just trash
Deja Drift, Freelance Trucker, and Drift Type C are the only good ones tbh. Type C really doesn't deserve its hefty price tag though, but it's actually good in the physics department
Deja Drift looks like a good game, pity that it has not triumphed.
PS: Excellent video Sepi, it shows that you work a lot your videos, keep it up ❤💪
FYI the dev commented on the video and it wasn't being worked on because it was during their senior year of college
Quantum Apex has the unique distinction of being the only game to make me ask, "why does the car have antlers?"
What I love about your channel - really, really LOVE - is how genuine you are. You buy these games and poke fun at the things they get wrong if it is clear it was due to laziness or hubris, but you also fairly point out the good things and are not above saying a game is actually good when it is. You make me laugh at blunders or by pointing out funny decisions, yet you also come across as a reliable source of information due to the depth of research you do.
Babe wake up, Sepi uploaded.
Too sleepy
5:35 AYO WTF HITLER IS DRIVING A CAR?!
Big respect for using the soundtracks from the Need for Madness stages as background music. It was the first game I ever played.
NFM REFERENCE ☠️☠️☠️☠️
A lot of these games are pretty much like what I did for the racing game I made for college assignment in both quality and jank. That if I were to release it I'm sure it'll probably something in the list as well, and coming from that, this vid is a great way to show what to do and what to not do for a lot of devs as well like me especially with your insights. I didn't expect the vid is also well researched to the point of joining discord servers and finding which asset store game template it's using, great video!
what not to do: asset flips
Sepi I noticed that you used a lot of songs from an old game called Need For Madness. I used to be a very active member within that community, going by the name 3334. Did you also play or did you simply sample the level songs? So nice to hear them again, an absolute trip through nostalgia :)
probably the best racing game back in the flash era. didnt play the online though
I actually still have the game on my laptop. Online is dead though sadly :')
Need For Madness was the best, genuinely get too nostalgic thinking about it, it was so good.
It was perfect... Perfect, everything down to the last minute details. Carried my childhood and made me love racing games to this day. I have no reminding on how I found out about it but I'm glad I did.
@@Zzreh only partially, it's still alive within the small community
I love these types of videos. Keep it up! ❤
16:00 “Have you seen a racing game where a wooden box represents nitro or speed boost?”
Crash Nitro Cart (I think)
Ha gotttem!
Beetle Adventure Racing uses wooden boxes for pickups including speed boost.
@@F0nkyNinjaIf you count HSV Adventure Racing, that's another one that does the same thing.
Well, it's really the same game with a different brand of cars, but still.
23:42 first racing game to ever include Milei as a playable character, 10/10
Actual free to play mobile game quality. How can people seriously call games like project cars 3 "mobile game" when these exist
Because people are way too spoiled to make that kind of judgement.
@@brawler5760if i could sum up the racing game community with one word, it'll be "entitled"
@@IPlayKindred Calling the community entitled is being too generous, honestly.
@@brawler5760 full heartedly agree
Some mobile games I've tried have significantly better quality like Real Racing 3, which was good fun until the mobile monetisation kicked in.
Your choice of music in this video shows that you also are a man of culture.
Nfm 1&2 were great games
@@Andy_77799 I still have them in my pc
@@Icy_Monster me too
What I really enjoy about this type of video is that it showcases that most people are willing to excuse BAD decisions with inexperience, if the base is there. But a passionate beginner project will always be recognizable over a cheap cashgrab.
23:42 Those are Argentine politicians, in fact the fourth, Axel, came to my town two weeks ago.
I'm not going to lie to you that I was surprised to see Argentine politics on your channel.
This video was awesome, seriously had fun watching you destroy over half these games lol.. and shoutout to the devs that actually responded!
This video reminds me that for every well made indie title with countless hours of hard work, dedication and care put into them that result in fantastic experiences...there's 100 worthless asset flips and scam games. Really makes you appreciate good indie dev's even more. Great video btw. Wonderful editing. It's clear that a lot of time was spent on this.
This video has motivated me to publish my game which I developed in unity an year ago and abandoned it cuz I thought it wasn't good enough
just finished watching, you always get the good videos :)
Once in a blue moon, the TH-cam algorithm recommends a gem of a video. This one was just that! ❤
This is why people should be harder on Valve and steam, they need to curate their store. Imagine walking into any other store trying to sell you this junk. It makes it near impossible for small developers to get their work noticed if somebody with some clout doesn't accidentally stumbles on your product.
I love these kinds of videos! I'm convinced there are real gems out there that just need to be found. I'm currently looking through charts watching out for them myself, you do need to dig through a lot of trash on the way, though. These videos have the potential to give a few great games some much needed exposure like Déjà Drift or Milo and the Magpies (featured by another youtuber who played games with zero players). Really good video, kept me interested the entire 43 minutes which not many youtubers can do anymore nowadays. Thank you!
this is a great video concept, I was interested for the whole 43 minutes, which is rare nowadays
Three months late, but I really have to thank you. Except for Déjà Drift, the rest of the games in the list really make me think that I could make a good racing videogame.
Oh, that is really inspiration!
I'm not sure if you read the comment section bud, but I can actually explain Turbomania Fogracers lol Back in the late 90s there was a very fun, cheap racing game on the PC called Ignition. It was like micromachines on speed, the person who's made this was obviously a fan of that fun old game and tried to make an up to date version ofit.... and failed, badly lol There are to many coincidences I noticed, the lightening bolt on the turbo bar, the fact you get flattened when a bolder hits you, the yellow car was seen on its front cover and a fun one we all liked to unlock during the game and if that wasn't enough, the lay out of 2 tracks are exactly the same as tracks from ignition ((snake island and the moutain map))..... I'd really like to see it re-released on GoG but it's long gone in to the sands of time, along with the other racing game from the same company, "Screamer Rally".
i love the use of Need for Madness music on the background while explaining this "games"
ive been waiting for this to pop-up in m,y recommended you make such good videos
You're like a pioneer out there on the steam store continent!
Great video. Inspired me to try more random indie games. 👍
You're*
@@IgnoreMyChan thanks 👍
Really like the music in the background, its from Need for Madness?
Thank you for entertaining us still Sep😇
You have a unique style to your subtitles and it's pretty damn cool. Nice
great video bro, first ive seen from you and i found it very well put together, and i like how you gave each game a fair chance before rating it, unlike ign does lmao. also liked the jabs you made at each game, i cracked up a fair bit at some of your jokes, just cause i understand the pain of playing bad games XD theres so many of them out there today, i havent played game ive thoroughly enjoyed in almost like 5-10 years last game i think i sunk a lot of hours into because of pure enjoyment factor and not just a game like csgo where you come back to cause of the ranks and operations or like rocket league seasons for example, was probably like cod 4 or halo 3
Ah, yes.... Unfortunate/10 indeed. A lot of online games have that issue, because a lack of players means that it can't pay for the servers... It's often a passion project that just doesn't catch on, and they can be amazing but then just flop because nobody hears of them.
I'm starting out developing games myself, and it's fun to look at some of these janky ones and try to puzzle out what's going on under the hood (no pun intended). I'm pretty sure the 'reset' mechanic in "Race! Make 'm finish...", for example, just propels the car into the air and isn't checking if it's on the ground or not, so it activates whenever you press it.
can be solved easily by adding a trigger / collider at the bottom of the car which tells a script that the car is grounded
Big respect for creators making something new and intersting. Even if it's not a fully polished AAA title, seeing a new idea come to life is really cool. Obviously not talking about the asset flip monstrosities, but more the Deja Drift kind of games.
Love the content bro, keep it up 👍
Oh wow, you used Need For Madness soundtrack throughout the video. I haven't heard people talk about that game much but it was part of my childhood.
What I cannot comprehend, why do all those people even try implementing multiplayer. Even AAA publishers struggle with populating their games, not to speak about stability, bugs and how much it costs to maintain and manage it. But alas... what else can you expect from ambitions of a 12 year old
great fun video, enjoyed watching this
"this game is on par with big rigs 2" Brilliantly timed, you have a good sense of humor for your style of videos. Happens to be my favorite, thanks
This is a feverdream. Almost like scrolling through the appstore for Spiderman Rope Hero
I came across you on Forza yesterday... the fact we are at the same skill rating yet you're still over a second per lap faster is very interesting
6 years of development working as intended
This is content I like, awesome work researching this part of racing game industry
who'd knew the racing genre was in such shambles :D, your deadpan delivery along with your comedic timing made this a blast to watch, reminds me of another gaming critic - DX
Just imagine many developers works at one game ? It’s going to be a lot better then these individual developers doing them own games and it’s glitchy
"have you seen a game where wooden boxes represent nitro or speed boost?"
Me as a 90's gamer: "Quite a lot actually"
well technically we had wooden boxes with questionmarks representing a random powerup
@@seP4 True, and since that game was an asset flip. I'm guessing they just couldn't figure out how to do that, or didn't care enough lol
Thank you for the video, it made my day.❤
Very good video. Appreciate the effort
Yooo that big project turned out great!
Props to your dedication🤝
i dont understand how some asset flips rank higher than (admittedly flawed) passion projects. Passion projects have devs that do care but are not too good at programming yet.
Passion alone isn't good enough. If an asset flip somehow works properly but a "passion project" doesn't, then the latter is objectively inferior as a game. Simple as that.
In game 37, those are all politicians from Argentina, its not the first time I see an Argentinian made a meme game out of the country political faces
18:37 so glad you put a need for madness soundtrack!!
I love your last 3 videos keep it up
I just don't get these devs.....
the saddest part is that they prolly made money from doing this crap. and some of them prolly think that's cuz they did a good job
WHOAAA I hear that Need For Madness Level 5 music in the background! Nice one Sepi!
Actually multiple NFM songs, so nostalgic!
Nice use of Need for Madness music in the background 🔥
Freelance trucker seems like a premise that has legs. Like a really good $10 15 hour polished indie title like clustertruck if they actually put a dev team to smash it out into a full title.
5:54: My justification for playing FH5 instead of TC2.
What´s so bad about The Crew 2?
Honestly, I hope you keep doing this kind of series every so often. When you do finally financially recover, do it all again, move up to the next set of games to test out, and eventually make your way to the top. It would be interesting to see if any indie games you play end up dethroning the top dogs(via your opinion, that is).
The Need for Madness soundtrack in the background 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I remember playing a lot of these games back in elementary and middle school on those old Flash/Unity game sites. I know those sites are beginning to die out slowly, but I'm still shocked how many are being ported over to Steam.
More content like this please! Awesome video friend
This is truly one of the racing video ever
My god, "Supercar Drift" was one of my childhood games i played on a browser. It bring back many good memories like that one rally game with similiar asset music, bro that melody is stuck in my head. Garbage game but enjoyable very much.
Did anyone notice that Hitler is in the car in 4:56
Yes😂
Need for Madness music really made me take a trip down memory lane. The utter fear MASHEEN made me experience...
Thank you for this video. I have been struggling to find a fun racer.
waiting for the flatout 3 lets play
2:25 was that Need For Madness 2 music????
yeah, latter at 27:22 you hear the monster playground song, and at 29:20 the King arena song
I was DYING when you showed the turbomania bugs & glitches montage 😂
Wow, such a good video! firts time watching one of your videos and is a instant sub!
Based NFM BGM
Mobile top charts be like:
the squatted supra was hilarious 10/10 video, would love to see deja drift updated and I would buy it
You gained one subscriber. Amazing how you've put much more efforts in this video than some devs have put into their games which they sell for more than 1$. Some of them aren't even in the alpha state.
Ah yea, Xtreme Aces Racing. I know that game sadly, what a pile of garbage. Thankfully, that game made me discover Skydrift, so maybe things aren't all bad haha.
and still all of these games are better than flatout 3
Gee I really can't wait for the next one!
This channel is good. Keep up my man.
Way too many 0/10 scores. The first one with no executable is a zero. If the game boots and you have some kind of input it's at least a 1. Giving out zero after zero is as lazy as most of the games themselves.
How lazy? Give us an input.
I’m impressed with YOUR effort towards this video, much more than the devs for most these games
Cool video my man
17:45
Aha, I can recognise that Need for Madness soundtrack even whilst it's so quiet. Great taste, Sepi, great taste.
EDIT: Wait a second, you've been using the NFM soundtrack all throughout the video. Hell yeah.
Ive been looking forward to this
The game at 12:03 reminds me of a similar top down lego game that I played as a kid. I think you could only accelerate or go in reverse, and the cars turned by themselves. I remember having a real hard time actually completing the game. Good times.
I do believe I still have that somewhere on an old CD, will make a cracked video if I find it lol
A great collection of bad games getting mocked and flawed gems, exactly the kind of content I love relaxing to!
I love your channel, these janky kinda obscure games are right up my ally, lol. Thank you for showing us an Iranian gamer’s POV, it is really refreshing.
I wanted to ask though. Do you have more than one person creating content on this channel? I think I can hear at least two distinct voices in your different videos. One is your voice in this video, but, the other sounds more… British.. maybe.. idk just different than you.
just different voiceovers
I enjoyed watching the video. it has a lot of serious talking about those games and I hope you managed to get your money back.❤
3:47 no way, that is dedication. Must have taken months to make this video then! respect
the fail montage from game 21 was funny and the song caled funiculi funicula in the back ground made it even funnier
This is so cool please make more of these but they dont have to be racing games u can do fps / free roam games and stuff!
Thank you for your time and effort. Definetely Dejavu nice gem, I will buy it!
