For me the biggest change for inferno is how differently you have to play pit now, there are SO many changes to that small area that makes fighting someone in pit way less of a pain and is probably my favourite change
The old pit was pit from HELL, It was so OP and the position alone made me avoid A site. Not to mention that you got a BALCONY and GRAVE which also were so OP position. Basically if you were playing short you had to deal with 3 most overpowered position at once.
@@MonkeyMcMonkeythey have increased the height of the building, so either the flash has to go way up which reduces the intensity or you have to throw it from apps stairs or something towards 2nd mid
when i saw that inferno was getting a top to bottom remake, my first thought was "damn, of all csgo maps inferno seems like one of the more in date ones" now i have played the CS2 version and gone back to the CSGO version, i see how crazy the difference is. this is definitely the best overhauled map in the game so far
@@Acidity01 i agree, however s2 lighting alone has definitely helped bring Mirage up to standard a bit. everything looks clean if not a tad washed out but that seems typical of the cs2 style so far
Inferno wasn't the second or third one to get the remake? Maybe we feel that is old bc we played too much, at least with Train I have not that issue and it was the first map to get a remake. And since that, the map wasn't touched again then one day they deleted from the pool, so we actually dind't burnout the layout of Train watching pro matches or playing (I play Train a lot bc i like it) But with Inferno you play, you train executes, yo watch demos, you watch pro matches... even if you are not getting tired of the map, CS2's Inferno show us how old and burnout the layout was...
@@Acidity01 I agree, it needs a revamped gameplay. A lot of people think that overpass need a remake too but CS2 did the right thing, Overpass only needed a new layout and some minor changes, bc the map already had, since it was on the mappool, tons of changes until the final and perfected version, but the layout was outdated long time ago, so it was really nice the new one with out too much gameplay changes
Meh new inferno doesn't feel like inferno, and as a person that normally plays b, that site specifically feels somehow worse to hold, not as many options to go aggressive for entries -awp ofc will get entries, nade stacks feel off, and generally doesn't feel good to play. And no I'm no infernoglobal, I generally played mirage and vertigo, and frankly, I do not care how a map looks, only how it plays, and the way they changed and even made new inferno look, is off-putting.
But for real, I love CS2 and have been increasingly enjoying it everyday. I cannot wait for more updates and hopefully some maps like cache and train to come back (and the leaked cobblestone !)
CS2 is miles better, One people gets more FPS, Server gets stable. No one will remember CSGO. Even the movement feels better in CS2, How swiftly you can air strafe is my fav part

They were made for CZ & Xbox, then Turtle Rock were made aware during development that it was also going to be used for CS:S after Valve realised TF2 wasn't anywhere near release but they wanted a quick-and-easy multiplayer Source release.
Audio sounds great! No echo or unnecessary reverb. Loved the video as well, loving the new map. hoping they'll make small changes like this across the other maps as well, although since they're already released I doubt it...
I love the fact how I play the game for more than 5 years straight and I always had a mm rank since I dont like faceit.... but the month I was on a vacation and quite busy and my rank expired they have decided to give more access to all people with active rank
I think a video on now redundant/no longer working utility lineups could be an interesting video. Obviously not all 100's of lineups but some of the more significant and important ones that may have changed between csgo and cs2.
A mention about that one bugged molotov lineup on Vertigo that Valve tried to patch like 50 times, but still ended up working in CS2 would be funny There's already a very well-made vid about the Mirage window smoke too.
I like that sky boxes are opened up in cs2. It's more interesting to be able to throw smokes across the map, and it's less jarring from a spectators standpoint seeing grenades bounce off of the invisible ceiling. Naturally new lineups will be found without needing the sky box, and valve has considered this like you mentioned with the scaffolding at B site.
the changes to a site make it so good. the weird pixel gap kinda angle from balcony to boiler is gone, pit playes differently, the graveyard change(which is good cuz its a weird angle to clear) etc make it much more clean
I like the CS 2 Inferno, although I haven't played much on it yet. A few things that I noticed immediately are the more clunky jumps from lower to higher elevations and some weird clip brushes around pavements and stairs. Pushing CT apps, for example, now requires 4 jumps (1st barrels, 2nd hay, 3rd balcony ledge and 4th railing) compared to 3 before (1st barrels, 2nd hay and 3rd on the railing). This slows down pushes towards second mid significantly considering I feel the time was barely enough before. Another thing that feels not quite polished is the removal of the railings on second mid stairs under balcony. Before you could walk on the railings and jump straight towards balcony. Now if you jump too late it's way easier to mess up and miss the wall, or you have to stand on the wall and crouch-jump from there. I definitely like pit and small pit more. The removal of the graveyard wall too as it was a pain to clear in some scenarios.
CT spawn also changed a lot. It was always weird fighting near these pillars and railings but now they are gone and everything is much clearer. T spawn also changed a little bit but nothing super ground-breaking
I hate this "much clearer" aspect of newer cs maps. hiding and map knowledge made up 50% of my enjoyment of cs go. there are enough fast paced shooters out there and I would much rather have more confusing spots to trick my oppenent then less like this.
pipes / apartments / whatever you call the upper entrance to A, is my favorite part, it feels the map more opened even that you actually can't go further
I'd be really interested in a video analysing the existence of a loadout in CS2! I think it's cool, since it offers more strategic choices to the player but I am sad that I can't have the Pp Bizon or the auto noob just for troll rounds... Thanks for the video!
the reason i like inferno is all the unique features, which is all the stuff they're seeking to remove. i love the awkward fountain, i love the hiding spot in graveyard, i love the second balcony on aps window, i love terrace and the quad skill jump, i love the angled roof next to T balcony, i love the roof above T aps door. they're really unplugging a lot of the charm of this classic map and streamlining it to make it more "competitively viable" and intuitive. i'm not pleased with the new inferno.
With 3kliksphilip releasing videos less frequently lately, it's good to have someone else who also produces great content about CS trivia and lesser-discussed topics.
Back in 2017/2018 I was huge into csgo, and now I've gotten back into it after a long while and played a casual game on inferno and it just felt so right, even if my skill has suffered.
I feel a difference in B as a CT (I was a B player). When Ts rush banana (on knifes), they can get top of banana before the CTs (I used to molly deep banana to slow them down => now I have to molly top of banana and the Ts aren't slowed down by the molly as before (they usually can run through without any simnificant damage) ). Peaking near the wall on top of banana now doesn't give such a powerful angle to ramp (you could peak Ts easy off with AWP on ramp), now that spot gives you a small gap to ramp (you have to have PRO reflexes to hit a shot there). Outside this small inconveniences, yes the map looks and feels amazing. PS: I forgot about the utility dropped to mid from A site....that wall makes it impossible to drop smokes/flashes to mid.
My biggest let-down was the color themes they used for each site. Visually differentiating A & B by red and blue aesthetics respectively in CSGO Both sites having the red tones now feels quite bland.
Finally, someone else is praising Valve for their work. I used to be a Valve hater and Valve memer in the past. But over the years they showed that they are probably the only company that delivers when it comes to their products. I heard a lot of negative things about CS2 over the past week and I defended Valve with my life. I mean - ofc it's not CS:GO. It only looks like it. It's a completely different game on a new engine. Give time, give a chance. So far I love CS2, but I gotta agree that either the shooting or the servers are really bad as well as the peeker's advantage. Sometimes I can't get obvious kills because they ferrari peek me or because it's not registering any hits. I hope this is not the subtick system we were promised, but I still believe in Valve that this game would be amazing on release. Ofc there will always be things to fix, but they will deliver.
Im still sad that they have removed the 'Via Adamo' sign at Banana ... almost feels like they removed a memorial of an ancient hero of bygone times and replaced it with meaningless clutter, leading to said hero slowy fading out of peoples memories :( at least I like to imagine that it is that tragic :P
The nice thing about making jumps like 3:25 easier is that it also makes them more intuitive to newcomers. I know starting out there were so many angles I would never check because it just didn't seem possible to get up there, or I'd assume it was some weird boost jump and never bother trying it myself. It certainly reduces skill expression but I really think its a positive more than a negative, especially in a game with as much depth and nuance as CS.
The adjustments they made to the map itself is perfect. However, the open skybox has broken T-side timings. They cannot reach mid or banana just because of one smoke and one or two mollies to T ramp.
One thing that kind of irritates me about the new Inferno are the road signs. Specifically the blue one with the arrows. Its supposed to tell the drivers who goes through a narrow road first. For some reason, they are identical on both sides. In reality, one of them should be blue square with arrows (as it is in the game) and the other one should be a white circle with a red outline, with arrows colored in the opposite way.
there are road signs in streets inaccesible by cars, I walked around trying to figure out how the parked cars made it inside the map, the only two possible entrances are between stairs and back alley (blocked by a van) and you could theoretically drive from ct spawn to b , then turn and go through banana, you wouldn't be able to turn right at t ramp because the road has stairs so the only option is going mid, the problem is the hole in bottom mid where the tunnel is that blocks off the road,.
Maybe you can do a video about the current movement and try to give something more than "it feels wrong", "it's too floaty" or "the character feels heavy"
Very interesting! I love the new Inferno, but I wish they kept the boiler in "boiler". I don't mind "library" turning into a winery, but for some reason, I just really liked the boiler.
The worst thing about cs2 for me is that all of the game sound, except for music, stings and voice lines is all in front of me somehow, also you can't change the audio type anymore
Maybe you can do a video about potential Meta changes in the pro scene, like the reworked smokes, open skybox, custom loadouts, follow recoil (I think people might start binding it)
I found the easter egg with the monitor in the first day I entered on the new map to test the smokes. One thing I`d like to point out, the sounds that we hear from the bots are from CS 1.6, maybe in source they were the same, but idk i never played source. Also, I like the new inferno too, it`s too bad that it`s the only map that has been remade completely...A remake of mirage would`ve been insane.
If the new Inferno is the new quality standard for maps made or approved for CS2 by Valve, then we just entered an era where competetive games can be both competetive and look visually stunning no matter what settings you use. Obligatory "RIP Valorant"
All of the official CS maps have this depth. Literally some of the best maps ever created for FPS games given the games mechanics. They're all almost perfect.
For video ideas you could make one on CS2's gun models and which skins actually change gun models since I noticed some gun recolors like my Glock 18 Candy Apple and Dual Berrettas Adonized Navy do use the CS2 gun model, while some skins I thought would change model actually stay the CSGO model. I haven't investigated this aspect of the games much so it may be lamer to talk about then I think it would. I know this type of video is a bit ill-fitting compared to the content you usually make on Counter Strike and its rich history but to be honest skins bring a significant amount of attention to Counter Strike as proven by your sponsorship with SkinsMonkey and could be favoring to the algorithm even if you don't go the whole Anomaly and Ohnepixel type of content route down the road, same could be said for stickers too if you want to go that route since some stickers look a bit different between games. I also don't know if someone has made a detailed video on this topic yet either so I'm sorry if this idea is a fluke.
In my opinion the new Inferno is a bit overloaded with details. I was an massive Inferno enjoyer because the clean walls always seperated the enemies from the background in Go but im having a hard time to Spot enemies. Thats the same reason why nobody wanted to play the cache overhaul. In cs visibility should always be more important than esthetics. I also kinda miss the Seconds mid flash over Apps and the 1:46 flash from tspawn to banana. Those are kinda Essential imo.
my favourite thing is they made everything lighter, I have a cheap VA 144hz dell monitor and dark CSGO shadows are SLOWWWWW but with CS2 the new lighting makes my monitor MUCH MUCH faster
I just hate that there's too much details on the map like flowers, flower pots, cones, cracks, bricks. Screen is so occupied, feels like i'm playing CoD or Battlefield. Sometimes its hard to spot an enemy. When i look CSGO version of Inferno, i see a clean competitive map. Overall, it looks great, just need some adjustments.
You should do a video about Santorini. FMPONE is remaking it for CS2 as we speak and that would be an interesting video and also build hype for a map that I believe should be in the map pool
You can make a video on: * Why the AK and M4 spray feels off * Peeker's advantage in CS2 compared to CSGO * Movement in CS2 in general especially the bhopping * Changes to economy needed? * Weird models when moving and strafing * Skins which need fixing
Yep it feel weird and sometime pitful of myself. It's a shame I forgot some area in inferno has a roof now. Kept forgetting that and molly on either me or my teammate head lmao. Team flash + random smoke which got block by the building 💀 welp it keep happening idk why lol

On A site there’s a balcony by arch looking in A site’s direction that you can bounce Molotovs off.
damn these videos are consistantly good. keep em up!
Just found your channel; great video essay man; gonna tune in.
Yeah the team working on the maps have done a great job
You're not sure about the change to graveyard? That's literally the best change on CS2 Inferno.
All of the official CS maps have this depth. Literally some of the best maps ever created for FPS games given the games mechanics. They're all almost perfect.
It would be really funny if they added a single book back to “library”. Can totally see valve doing this as a gag
Video idea: Expectations for danger zone in CS2
It'd be sick to get a new version of the outdated callouts with the new changes in CS2
4:53 Bro im playing CS since when coffins was still called cable and still call it cable and everyone understands my call
It would be cool to see your perspective on what Volvo could do to the maps they haven't yet recreated.
1:46 is still possible for Ts. there are some videos, i agree that the visibility is shit also the map runs like shit on my rig
@@achillesmichael5705 oh. Good to know. Didnt thought it was possible
Good looking map, I feel like it plays worse than the old one tho.
my favourite thing is they made everything lighter, I have a cheap VA 144hz dell monitor and dark CSGO shadows are SLOWWWWW but with CS2 the new lighting makes my monitor MUCH MUCH faster
Good job Valve but also good job from you Penguin, love your videos !
You should do a video about Santorini. FMPONE is remaking it for CS2 as we speak and that would be an interesting video and also build hype for a map that I believe should be in the map pool
You can make a video on:
* Why the AK and M4 spray feels off
* Peeker's advantage in CS2 compared to CSGO
* Movement in CS2 in general especially the bhopping
* Changes to economy needed?
* Weird models when moving and strafing
* Skins which need fixing
You should make a vid about the craziest new smokes that are possible with the removal of the skybox
5:53 that couch is verry similar to one in old source 1 games also the tv fells like a nod to missing textures
Library changed from a book library to a wine library.
the changes on balc are evil, also the bike in pit not having the lower side to head glitch is a huge nerf
Sick video bruss. How bout comparing those hard jumps to hit between csgo and cs2 (like that jump from balcony to patio)
cs2 Inferno is absolutely fucking beatiful
Also, banana has an actual banana sign now. Pretty sick.
welp... this video didn't age well
thats the comment i was looking for
Valve still has talent, they just don’t use it much
Yep it feel weird and sometime pitful of myself. It's a shame I forgot some area in inferno has a roof now. Kept forgetting that and molly on either me or my teammate head lmao. Team flash + random smoke which got block by the building 💀 welp it keep happening idk why lol
library is now known as despot
Head is visible when standing up at car!
penguin keeps coming up with new ideas and its amazing man, make more plz UwU
I disagree about the removal of skilljumps, i think they add a lot to the game, but everything else is spot on. Great vid
In hungary we call the knifethrouing pubs library as you gain no many info while u there soooo. Bojler eladó :)
