    In this video, I poll the Counter-Strike community about which currently playable competitive map is best. This survey was really fun to make, and opened my eyes a lot to how the counter-strike community works. A few of the results surprised me a lot. Turns out the CSGO community is pretty cool.

    I wonder how the results would differ if you added a "Don't Know"/"Haven't Played" and an "Indifferent" option in your survey. There were significantly more 3 votes for maps like Tuscan, Breach, and Anubis than for Cache, Office, and Inferno, suggesting that a lot of people didn't know enough about those maps to have an actual opinion one way or the other.
    I feel like the results would be kinda different if people didn't have to vote for maps they were unfamiliar with. It would probably give a better picture of how those maps actually feel to play.

      @@AlphaGarg When people criticize a map because of how fun/boring it is to watch, they are actually refering to the pro scene, and how they feel while watching the best players in the world face each other in this arenas. A big part of CS is the pro scene, and it´s very important to take into consideration how the audiences feel when spectating these maps. I don't think people were referring to a CSGO problem when saying that Inferno was hard to retake on. There is a general consensus that Inferno is by far the hardest map to retake a bombsite after it has been taken, leading to much more frequent saves than any other map. It would take more than a comment to analyze why that is the case (there is a video idea for you :p), but I can see a few reasons why:
    -The sites are very vertical, and unlike Nuke, it doesn't require control of the entire map to utilize that verticality, leading to way more off-angles that can be used against CTs in a retake.
    -There are also a lot of hiding spots on both bombsites (apps, graveyard, dark, ruins, banana, etc.) and there are also spots on both bombsites where the Ts can waste a good 5 seconds by simply running around an object, and both these issues require CTs to retake a lot faster than other maps to counter them.
    -The CTs need to go through a lot of chokepoints to even start the process of retaking. For example, if you want to go through CT to retake A, there can be a T in library or long waiting for you to peek your head out. This is a problem in itself, but it also makes it easier for Ts to predict the moves of a CT player, especially in a 1v1. For example, just yesterday I checked mid 6-7 secs after planting the bomb, and I knew that not seeing the enemy at that timing meant that the CT was coming from the spawn. Then, I only had to shift through long to kill him when he was still checking all the little holes that I could be hiding in.
    -Inferno is a very utility-heavy map. A lot of gameplay involves Ts baiting and playing around the number of utility used by CTs to make sure that they cannot completely stop a push into one of the bombsites. Naturally, this often means that CTs won't have a lot of utility that they could otherwise use to at least naturalize the abundance of hidey holes.

    In faceit lvl 10, Inferno has lost every last bit of fun there is to have in CSGO. It's the most utility dependant map in the game by a mile. Dust II feels like an aim server where aim wins you the game. Mirage feels like a middle ground between mechanical skill and utility while on inferno lately it feels like the biggest smoke/flash nerd wins.
    It's a good map, sure. But the amount of studying required to have a chance against good players is immense compared to other maps. If you solo q on that map in high level faceit, you better believe you'll get steamrolled by a prestack of inferno specialists with every trick in the book for inferno and inferno only.

      It's far from good, only draw to it are fast rounds it rewards peak agression/rushing and aim skills instead of tactics and positioning, variety on it is non existant as there are like 4 ways all rounds go. Middle sniping is dumb tho it offers only bit of tactic in firm of spottibg how many CTs went B.

I remember back in 2016 and for the following couple years I played the most, it was overwhelmingly disliked. It's insane how much of a difference those more recent changes made to the map.
    My favorite maps that have ever been in the game are Insertion and Insertion 2. Its wide open and diverse map design along with four different entry points gave every round the opportunity to be a lot more unique. • @epiccamper
      @epiccamper ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I respectfully disagree. I believe office is more balanced than agency. Allow me to explain. Lets start with agency. Whereas it is true that Agency has 3 ways for CTs to advance, all of them are hard to control. Ts can reach the middle area sooner regardless of how close a CT spawns and they can throw molotov and HEs through the glasses, while the opoosite is impossible. The two outer ways (idk how they are called tbf) are difficult in the sense that Ts can peek from both a lower and an upper level, whereas CTs cant (unless someone manages to go up the stairs on the right side). Also, in the bathroom corridors Ts can use grenades early on to block any advances, although it requires a good spawn. You most likely would have to waste a smoke or flash right away just to reach the bathroom itself or the stairs on the other side. On the other hand, Office offers better chances for the CTs. Just think about it. Yes, indeed the corridors are smaller, but precisely because of that a good CT will have an easier time. Lets suppose no T rushes early on the round (which is pretty dumb cosidering that CTs can peek gate and middle earlier if they have the best spawns). Normally, Ts will have control of the spawn and the main corridor on the middle, whereas CTs will take control of the offices, gate and adjacent areas. Such a situation, which is very common, reduces the positioning of the T team to a few locations. For example, you want to take control of the main corridor? Check the bathroom area first (although normally no one goes there since its easily countered), molotov the vending machine spot, which can be done without actually peeking into the corridor, and thats it. Next, lets say you wish to advance towards the back corridor to take the hostage there or encircle the T spawn. Normally there will be a T close to the entrance, behind the couch or futher back on the plant. You can use a HE and/or flash or if you still have your molly you can throw it on the back and clear the corridor. You can wallbang the couch spot too or simply prefire. The same for the other side. You can wallbang the archive spot and then either smoke kitchen and go towards middle or smoke middle and advance towards kitchen, it will depend on what your team is doing and where the hostage is, of course. Also on office once you take the hostage you can save it in far less time. For example, if the hostage is on the best spawn on kitchen, it takes about 11s to reach the hostage zone. Utiliy usage is also easier on Office since the Ts will have control of smaller areas, so you can often get some HE kills and such. But do not take me wrong, I do like agency. My arguments are solely related to balance, which is an objetive analysis based on map layout. It has nothing to do with fun, I do find agency fun and play the map pretty much every week.

      I think Office is less T sided than most people think. If you get lucky enough to not get cheaters in a comp game on Office, it can play fair.
      T's can get punished for playing too aggressive and too passive. All it takes is to get one pick in Paper and Mid Control and CT's can win.
      Another thing I don't see on Office is CT's smoking well. Lots of CT's just throw them down a hall without consideration where they will land. If you are able to place smokes on top of common camping spots you can effectively destroy an entire T side passive play. It really isn't that hard.

    • @epiccamper
      @epiccamper ปีที่แล้ว

      @@youtuberobbedmeofmyname Couldnt agree more. Often when one loses a CT is has more to do with his/her lack of map knowledge than the other team's own merits.

    Inferno is such a goated map, really fun to play and the fact there is 2 middles connected by a underground passage is really fun, on CT side i really enjoy the angles you can hold like pit on A site or coffin on B site i just like how there is a few ways to access the sites instead of just one linear passage that you can easily die to by an AWP. On T side its really fun to with multiple options on how to approach either A or B, me personally i love rushing down Banana on first round with all 4 teamates and obliterating the poor people there. Overall i think Inferno will remain the most popular for a while since while its not only just fun to play its also really intense watching it in the competitive scene.

    hope in the future valve and community map makers can add things to maps that benefit players that take the time to learn movement techniques like mirage, nuke, overpass, inferno, and cache. • @Choochinc
      @Choochinc ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mid is really hard to hold as CT because Ts can peek from 2 opposing angles with the exact same timings, and if they decide to smoke you and drop, you can't really do anything about it. You can blind spray, but that leaves you very vulnerable to tracer tracking or just guess shots, because you only have a very small area to stand where your body is protected.
      I also don't like the difference in elevation between the water and the sides below mid. They did well to make the water quiet, but I really hate having to either jump to clear bridges/gaps, or be forced to walk a certain path to not take falling inaccuracy.

  • @Viperspider1

    My biggest gripes with Tuscan right now are mid, the CT side of snake and just how many nooks and crannies that map has for players to hide in. It makes it such a chore to get anywhere when you have to regroup, because a lurk could sit in any of those corners.
    This, combined with bein unfamiliar with the map can make it very frustrating to play on. It might get a lot better once I get a feeling for the timings and strategies on it, but for now regrouping and taking/retaking a bomb site can be very frustrating because of that.

    Highlight the areas of the text you are reading, especially in the long paragraphs people have sent.
    For every placement map, tell the audience where it is placed in the "best map" leaderboard, at the start of every map. This helps the viewer watching the video understand the structure, keeping them engaged and invested so that they continue watching and don't lose interest earlier. Imagine the viewer is blind, to help you produce the video in a way which is both engaging through audio and visual.
    Also play some background gameplay of strats or plays of each map. Helps to keep engagement again - the sweeping shots of each map are good but, maybe use half sweeping shots half in-play shots.
    Despite those it was really good, very professional and good choice of music, well thought out script, unbiased, balanced and interesting.

    • @TommyBergstrom
      @TommyBergstrom 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i love office and agree it is underrated. Mostly when i see people play it is Mirage, Vertigo, Dust2, Anubis, Ancient and Inferno. Players that know a lot of lineups for nades have big advantage on those maps but when playing those maps without communication in team it is hard when not knowing where enemies are, if team is quiet you have no idea where they are without peeking and seeing them yourself because those maps are so big. I don't know a lot of lineups for smokes, molotovs, flashes etc but it is harder to play these maps when some players know them and have a strategy to use but not everyone in the team knows lineups and are quit. At Office it is easier to play without communication in team because you know where enemy are they are either outside paper or going long. For example at Nuke good players can throw smokes at yard and sometimes go secret and sometimes not or throw molotov and flashes into A and sometimes go there or instead go ramp to b but i guess that tactic demands higher skilled players to i am not playing Nuke for that reason. It is hard enough to aim in the game without having to learn a lot of smokes and nades and have a strategy with players you play with for the first time :)

    1.) Overpass - That map has so many elevations and many open and small angles, any weapons can be used effectively. As a T you can rotate fast through connector, and as a CT you can hold the site with excellent cover. Overall almost perfect map.

    T side, probably Overpass, I like the size, Awping T side is great, you can play with rotations with the open sky boxes. Site take utility is hard to coordinate without a proper team but for picks and defaulting I like it a lot. Mirage is also good T side in a PUG compared to other maps.
