    For those of you interested in doing Schrader valves RPG offroad now offers them and you don't have to drill and tap the shocks.

    Thank you for sharing this information. How is the ride after rebuilding the shocks? Are you happy with the mid perch shock height? Is there any difference in the ride quality?

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ride quality had a noticeable improvement. (My shocks were worn out) I am happy with Mid perch look and ride. I did have the truck aligned after and also had to adjust my load leveling tow hitch.

    My bleed screws/bolts on top keep leaking, recommendation ?

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Only things I would think is that there is something in the bottom of the bleed screw hole that does not allow them to seat properly or the seat or screw is damaged at the seat end.

    Great Video, thank you. I have a question. The grease that is under the floating piston. Did you cleaned the grease? Did you add new grease after cleaning it?

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  ปีที่แล้ว

      If by "grease" you are referring to the oil that goes in the shock, I put new oil in the shock around 26:30 mark of this video. I listed all the tools, part and oil used in the rear shock rebuild video.

      @@The-Old-Dude Thank you for the quick response. On your Part 2 - Teardown video at 4:23, after you blew out the Nitrogen Piston, you mention that it was pretty nasty and slimy, that’s grease that Fox factory put there. Did you clean that slimy grease? Did you add more grease before installing the Nitrogen Piston? Or you only put oil on the nitrogen Piston and reinstalled it. Thank you for taking the time to help me with this.

    very good the video, the nitrogen pressure, is it 220 psi? in the front and rear? and the amount of oil would be 14 oz? in the 2 too?

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did start at 220 but dropped the pressure down to 210 because the ride felt better. I covered the volume of fluids in the video and do not remember the exact amount. (It is coming up on rebuild time through)

    Nice video! How much nitrogen do they take?

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They require a very small volume of Nitrogen. You can see the size of tank I used to fill them and I have played around with different pressures in my shocks over the last 2 years. I still have 3/4 of a tank left.

      Too many projects of my own to take on that task. There are multiple rebuild shops around the US but I hope these videos show that it is not that hard for you to take it on..

    Hey after I rebuild my shocks and put in nitrogen in it my shaft didn’t go up as I filled in the nitrogen could you think of any reason why It didn’t do that

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only a couple that come to mind. 1. The shaft is bound up, You are not using enough pressure or there is fluid on both sides of the shaft valve. Make sense?
