  • This is an extreme restoration of a vintage desk. So extreme, that we almost brought it to the curb about half way through! It was a struggle, but we kept at it and we're glad we did! We think the end result is beautiful!

    Hey guys great job. Little secret with a syringe to hold it upright and pull the plunger back, My dad was alive he was a doctor and if you pull back on the plunger it cleans out the needle. Then store it . Blessings Suzanne Ozarksflipper

    That's an amazing piece. I love the hinged shelf, such a nice touch. Your attention to detail never wavers. I have an old Hoosier cabinet that was stored in a garage for a decade. I hope I can accomplish ¼ the success Jim and Cindy had on this desk.

    Another solid Art Deco piece of furniture worth preserving saved. You're becoming more and more professional. I like how you mend and adjust the imperfections with veneer. You cute people did a great job again. By the way, I fill small gaps with a homemade paste made from sawdust and bone glue. However, I do restore more early 19th century antiques and hand polish the surfaces with shellac, which is not necessary for the authenticity of your desk. Maybe you've already decided on a Wagner paint spray system, it's doing me great service.

    • @FurnitureWarriors
      @FurnitureWarriors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Helena! We do have a HomeRight sprayer that we really enjoy using (a lot more in the warmer months), and we hope to try a Wagner in the future!

    You did such a great job on this! I didn't get a good "before" look, but what I saw looked like it was pretty bad off. I'm so glad you used the reddish stain on it. My favorite, and nobody ever uses it anymore.

    Great job y’all! As always. One question, and sorry if it’s an amateur one. Why do you put wax over the top coat? I thought the top coat protects it completely. 😀

    • @FurnitureWarriors
      @FurnitureWarriors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The topcoat does protect the piece. Putting wax over topcoat gives it a little extra protection and a great sheen! Thanks Tammie!

    • @FurnitureWarriors
