ok......first off....cannot believe you guys even brought yourselves to review this/our Season!!?? Bold!! Possibly one of my least favorite seasons.....and I was ON it ;) !! Comments: 1. yes, worst weather EVER, more rain and miserable.....truly miserable. Freezing, rain, wet, and no naturally found food..... 2. Yes, we needed more fans rather than recruits, and quitting, absolutely sucks......and ruins the Season.......and imagine being voted off, only to watch two folks volunteer to leave the greatest game ever?!?! I think the show should be really harsh on quitters, in order to provide incentive for players to not drop off the game - it throws the whole game off, throws Production off, and lets the audience down (the audience would have loved more Naonka and Purple!) 3. Sash did play an incredible strategic game......but I think you guys hit it on the head. 4. Fabio was the ultimate Spicoli, and is actually a super high IQ guy...."allowed" (never gave any reason to be disliked) people to bring him along, and you HAVE to respect a dominator in the most intense individual immunity challenges, so maybe he didn't drive a huge strategic social game......but they guy never attracted votes!.......I know, I know....I'm jaded, I'm not convincing Rob C........but there you have it.... Best looking Tribal Council....but no water challenges......and, I love you guys, despite the tough love!
@@martypiombo Hey Marty, I have to admit that I’ve always been impressed and curious about how you managed to get through the Tribal Council in which Kelly B. goes out without you playing the idol. Was there anything that you felt or something that may have not have been shown in the edit that made you decide not to play it? Especially considering that Jill had immunity, how you said yourself how you felt less comfortable after Jeff asked in regards to your position in the tribe just to prior to getting to the vote based on how that Tribal (pre-vote) was playing out around you, along with the high possibility of the eventual split vote to at least flush out the idol.
I kind of have to agree with the other comments that yall are too high on Naonka. She was hilarious but she had some vile moments too and she was selfish and mean spirited. Definitely does NOT deserve to return, I'm shocked Rob even thinks it's a possibility. It's a -100% chance she is ever returning, and for good reason.
Okay, I'm at 58:20 and I have to defend Fabio and Dan for the Final 6 vote. They were in a lose-lose situation, because the only two people that could have left at that tribal were Jane and Dan. Say Jane, Fabio & Dan all vote for Holly: Sash & Chase play their idols, and Holly and Jane become safe in a 3-3 deadlock. Fabio had individual immunity, so Dan is automatically out. Obviously this means that Dan has absolutely no choice but to vote out Jane, and Fabio had to choose between them, so it makes sense he got rid of the way bigger jury threat Edit: okay, Rob acknowledged it later. Thanks Rob!
This is what I was thinking about watching the show, I wonder if all the players were aware of this at the time or if anyone in the game didn't realize this. Jane wanting them to vote with her for Holly was asking them to send Dan home
I am one of those people who watch the season over for the podcast. I'm furloughed from work and missing Survivor so this is so much fun every week. Keep up the good work!
Rob, I’m one of the people watching the season every week 😂. Honestly I thought it’d be a great way to see some seasons I never got around to watch or just didn’t really have interest in seeing (like Thailand). It’s been great to see how you always find such a positive spin on every season no matter how bad, and the podcasts make the whole journey worth it! Excited to keep watching with you!
About Fabio not winning if Na Onka and Purple Kelly had been off the jury: Mario Lanza claimed that 2 people switched their votes from Fabio to Chase because they thought it was going to be unanimous and felt bad for Chase (but still wanted Fabio to ultimately win). So if Fabio had 2 fewer votes going in to final tribal, the 2 people who switched probably wouldn't have, and the final vote would have 5-2 in favor of Fabio, not 4-3 in favor of Chase.
Absolutely. More compelling characters and much better editing , the strategy in GI was much more frustrating. Nicaragua suffered just from reputation.
I'm not a huge fan of Nicaragua, but I do believe whoever wins deserves to win that season, regardless of twists or luck . Butttttttt still a low grade season imo
I agree. I rank all my winners based on the luck required to win since you don't get bonus cash for being Russell Hantz. Natalie W is 12th in my opinion. Fabio is a lot lower because he needed to win the last 2 immunity challenges, probably the last 3 or 4 had Naonka not quit, but I still don't think Fabio gets enough credit for his game. He had a strategy of laying low and being cool, and it was very effective.
@@TheMurrmursonbottle There are some fans. We can watch Survivor on TV there, but now is showing just 29 season so we have to find other ways to watch.
My only problem with Nicaragua is... 1) The Espada casts were too old. While the eldest La Foir was 30. Had 3 members over 3, and two were over 60. Honestly we should have seen the spilt at 35 to give more life to the Espada. 2) Seeing the weather conditions worsen from the rainy season production should gave out different rewards to keep them comfortable especially as many players openly talk about quitting, more than a tarp. Such as a Shelter built, some type of Fuel Heater, and after the merge more rewards should been nights away at camp.
About the discussion about aesthetics around 1h10: Two things that I LOVED: there was one challenge where the lanes were named after the players, and I thought it was awesome that they made a sign saying FABIO instead of Jud or Judson for Fabio. I bet that they had those signs ready before the season even started, and if they still changed it after the re-naming of Fabio, that's amazing honestly lol At the fallen players hommage walk, where the final 4 go around collecting the signs with the names of every player, NaOnka's and Purple Kelly's signs were both black, whereas the other competitors were colored with the color from the tribe they were in when they got voted out. Production really went out of their way to show how unhappy they were with those two for quitting lol
People complain about Fabio’s win but then say Xander was robbed on 41 like guys, Xander was the Fabio of 41. Xander seems more strategic than Fabio, yes, but he was also out of the loop for most of the game and had a completely incorrect read on the game and his place in it. Also, I think the season would’ve probably had more interesting gameplay if there was better weather. There’s not nearly enough alotted time to play hard when you’re all huddled together in a poorly made shelter, hoping you’ll get a night of staying dry.
Sounds funny but strategy's overrated by this point. If I could play and win a season, I'd want to play like Fabio over like 80% of the other winners. I'll have a blast and "dude" my way to the million while the others stress about numbers. If Chase had won they'd have ironed out all the mistakes we saw and he may have been one of the dullest winners ever.
Jane is the worst! I cannot comprehend how anyone could've voted for her as fan favourite. There is straight up nothing likeable about her. Hot contender for my least favourite Survivor player of all time.
A great player like Tony would have never let Fabio won you cannot let’s underdog get to the end. That on chase and slash for allowing him to get there
I liked Sash and you could argue that he played on the wrong season cause if he was like One World I think he could have possibly won with the game that he played
To be fair. As someone who swam 16 years on a competitive team. Even the coaches tell you to P in the pool so you don’t waste time getting out during practice
Thank god Chase lost, he actively made moves to lose himself the game. Terrible player, boring character. I would put him dead last in my winner rankings even behind Chris Underwood. Hell, even at the reunion it seemed like he didn’t even want to win. Also, to everyone saying Naonka was so mean, I don’t get it. I literally just finish rewatching the season and have no idea what people are talking about.
This season and 'Panama: Exile Island' suffered the same problems. Both seasons were popularity contests and dividing the tribes up by age was an enormous blunder. Even when they tried to fix that mistake in the second episode of 'Panam', it was already too late.
This season ranked #40 for me. For starters, I think this cast was just not memorable. I really also did not like how much they focused on Naonka. I know she was involved with a good amount of the drama in this season, but to have her just quit on day 28 just really left a sour taste in my mouth. She had so much screen time just to be a major let down on the season. Outside of Jimmy Johnson, I don't think any of the pre-merge boots were memorable either. Also, the medallion of power was such a bust and I hope it never returns. I started to feel better about the season when the merge started because Marty and Brenda were two very big vote outs, and the season gained momentum because of it. However, all that momentum gets absolutely demolished with the double quit episode, and the fact that Naonka still went on the reward in that episode just upsets me more. After that, the season basically wraps up, and its somewhat predictable with the fact that Fabio won every challenge down the stretch and Chase, Sash, and Holly made the strategic decisions. Also, Fabio winning the game rubs salt in the wound on this season. He wasn't there strategically, and he only won because everyone disliked Chase and Sash for what they did in the game. This was a season with 2 good episodes, and the rest of the season being mostly boring/predictable, and I just don't think it provides much entertainment.

How popular is Survivor in Lithuania? Is there a good amount of fans, and do you have a hard time finding episodes of US Survivor?
