Aftermarket downpipes with the flex joint were reccomended from Active. Makes it easier to pair the mid-pipe. Car sounds a lot better with the Equal length midpipe. It's been honestly one of my favorite mods.
i have active's EQL resonated on my m4 as well, it sings at high revs, I am catless, so there are some drones at low rpm in sport mode. so happy u have no burbles!! #saynotoburbles
the farts when accelerating like at 18:15 is because DSC kicks in. Turn it off and you will have smooth linear sound!🙂 I hate that fart sound too but thats where it comes from
Me personally I love the flaring like sound, waste gate dump these F8x make, that’s just me. I’m most likely going to go with a single mid pipe from VRSF to keep that unique sound
It sounds amazing bro I've been wondering why you stopped making vids I used to watch for f30 videos because I have one myself. Are you gonnna get a dinan or m performance or remus muffler I think that would make sound even better
Thanks man! Yeah check out the video before this one. Sort of a life update video haha. But I am back and have plenty of content on the way! I haven’t figured out what rear section I’ll go with. My goal is to figure out what the best exhaust setup is for this platform. We will see where I take it!
Hi, how about buzzing noise (rasp) around 2000 rpm? I have big problems with that. I am running AA cattless DP, AA EL resonated, stock ZCP box. Only 7000 miles on it.
@@accelerated_motion Thanks for reply. I have found out i probably received resonaters from single mid, which are smaller and different positioned. That's why my buzzing is probably bigger than your....
Great video, Sounds great!!! I have a F80 Comp also and noticed you don’t have the bubble, cracks, pops and farts the competition exhaust has. Could you please tell me how you got rid off that? I love the clean crisp sound of yours. Thanks, Dave.
I would assume he has a Bootmod3 tune. you can run stock tune but adjust the burble and aggression. you can basically turn down any backfire so it makes a single pop or non at all.
Yeah I pulled all of the dumb burbles out of the tune via BOOTMOD3. I can’t stand burbles so with a few clicks, I was able to adjust the parameters for that
Accelerated Motion thanks for letting me know! I hate the burbles and popping the S55 Comp makes! Like yourself I just came from an E92 M3 and find the S55 awful to listen too! Yours sounds great though!
Accelerated Motion that is awesome! I can’t wait to see what you end up with. I most certainly will be following your lead as it appears we have very similar views on what sounds good vs how our cars sound now…I mean my car. Yours sounds good now, but can’t wait to see what’s next on your channel. Just subd!!😊
I have the similar setup in my M2 comp (catless downpipe, renovated EL mid pipe). I'm thinking of putting an MPE Exhaust, but was told by AA that the connector pipe for MPE is non-resonated due to its length. So I'm thinking if I need to cut MPE or not. Any ideas?
Thats correct. You would have to ditch the connecting pipes from the MPE which would require you to cut them off and only use the muffler section. I have considered MPE rear section as well. I think that would be a nice combo.
I believe that the rattle that you're hearing on start up is normal. Its the DME checking the wastegates. Completely normal and very common with the F80. It just sounds like something in broken but its not. Its more amplified due to my catless downpipes
I really want this setup for my CS but not sure weather to do catless downpipes w resonated EL or stock downpipes and non resonated EL. They both sound great! Is this still your current setup. Any recommendations? Great Vid btw! Thanks
Thank you! I still have this setup currently - catless downpipes, resonated ELM. The major bottleneck in any exhaust is the cats. And if you ever want to add a tune and push higher boost, you’ll wanna be catless. So it depends what your end goal is. More power? I would say go catless. Doing it just for noise? Keep stock downpipes and do non-resonated ELM.
@@cristianj.9623 I was on thesame debate. The stock dp and non res sounds better, but more performance when going catless. I went with non res and stock dp and sounds so good. Just sucks now that I want to get downpipes…the resonated just still sounds too raspy to me without cats. Got in depth exhaust comparison video on my page too.
@@accelerated_motion yea happened to me, 3 weeks ago, im on 100% e85. Decided to mess around with my MHD app, and turned burbles to OEM and 0.2secs duration. I'm catless and check engine came on, The left bank sensor "after the cat" 02 is bad. I also have 79k miles though
It's crazy how much just the equal length midpipe changes the tone of the exhaust sound!! So much better
Couldnt agree more!
This sounds amazing . Didn’t think an f80 would sound so good
Thanks! I agree!

Yeah a flex joint would have made things easier for sure. But I agree, the sound is much better than OEM. I'm happy so far!
Sounds pretty smooth down low and mid rpm. Overall seems to have definitely changed the tone.
Yeah so far I like the sound! Deeper tone and less farty!
i have active's EQL resonated on my m4 as well, it sings at high revs, I am catless, so there are some drones at low rpm in sport mode. so happy u have no burbles!! #saynotoburbles
HATE the burbles. It sounds soo much cleaner without them!
Add a Remus exhaust to make it sound like an F1 (mini). Gets extremely loud. Best sounding setup for the S-55 imo.
I will look into it! No one in my area has rear sections on their F80's, so I have nothing to compare to unfortunately.
Yup Remus or Dinan exhaust
the farts when accelerating like at 18:15 is because DSC kicks in. Turn it off and you will have smooth linear sound!🙂

Yep! I mentioned that in my video. I could tell when the car was losing traction because thats when it would fart lol
Sound awesome!!! Excited to hear it in person.

Thanks! Lowered on H&R Sport springs
@@accelerated_motion cool! How do you like them? Considering those along with EMD linear springs
@@thecarsavant Loved them. Ive ran H&R Sport springs on several cars now. Ive been happy with them.
What downpipes you got on?
VRSF catless downpipes
this is non-resonated right?!
From what I've watched.. resonated + custom axle back sounds better and much less raspy than non-resonated.
This resonated. Since I have catless downpipes, resonated ELM is recommended. Otherwise, it would have crazy bad drone.
Great looking car, rare color. What tint % did you use?
Thanks! Tint came on the car. I think its 30%. Its not super dark and I plan on having it redone.
Sounds incredible

There is a little buzzing but it’s not terrible and depends on throttle position. I think it’s tolerable.

It’s a bad idea to go with the non-resonated version if I’m running catless downpipes?
Yes. From what I have read and what Active Autowerke recommends, doing non-resonated with catless downpipes is AWFUL and has a lot of drone.
