Holy in your garage at the end those revs sounded sooo good. I’m in between this and the mad single mid pipe but you might’ve sold me on this. I’m trying to get a slight muscle sound and eliminate buzz and rasp. This sounds good 👏
I was also considering the mad single mid pipe until I heard about the AA Equal Length mid pipe was released. I knew I had to give it a try and the sound is better than I imagined. 💯
I have a g87 m2 and want to install the AA EL midpipe and leave everything else stock. Does the cold start rattle with the stock muffler box? And if so, is it bearable?
Thank you for sharing this video. I am contemplating on doing the midpipe installation myself as well and have been exploring cost efficient options to get the car high enough off the ground to get underneath. I thought of the drive-on ramps but wasn't certain whether or not the ground clearance would suffice, but, evidently, it does. Do you have any recommendations as I prepare for this little DIY project?
Great to hear you found the video helpful. I would recommend a new sawzall blade made for metal and having someone help because an extra set of hands was very helpful when removing, cutting & reinstalling the exhaust.
Hey! Nice to see another Bimmer lover in DE! I own a 2008 e90 M3 and a 2005 330i with ZHP. I’m going to be getting a g80 hopefully by the summer. But the M is my daily. If you ever want to shoot together, let me know! I’m in Newark.
Great to hear another Bimmer lover is nearby. You have 2 of the best BMW's ever made! The V8 in the M3 is a work of art and the E46 330i ZHP is classic! It would be cool to do a shoot on the cars. I'll send you a friend request
Car guy, you’re blessed mate, you’re so blessed, i can only dream of having such a garage, i like that exhaust on the M5, the best i have heard so far, M3 sounds sweet, too
These 2 are the most popular choices and Active Auto has made some revisions since they initially released their EL mid pipe. I was intrigued by the new Milltek single mid pipe and recently ordered one to try out. Personally I prefer the tone and volume of the AA EL mid pipe over the VT. Both great choices!
Cool, I don’t know too much about this stuff. I live in California so I can’t erase catalytic converters. Are the two catalytic converters still in place?
Also, I looked it up on the company’s website and they state it’s for “offroad” use only - meaning that’s another reason I wondered if it still had the catalytic converters.
Thanks my man! Great to hear you ordered one. It transforms the sound of the car. My M3 is lowered on KW HAS kit. The ride is great whether you’re on the street, road course or drag strip.
Just installed EL midpipe from AA on my g80 with stock cats and muffler. Sound is perfect but the cold start is too loud and have little but drone specially when valves closed
Do you get any drone while cruising in highway speeds in efficient mode? I just got a g80 and Im considering the AA EL or the AWE Switchpad with their midpipes. I don't know what to do!
No drone at all. If you put the car in efficient/comfort you wouldn’t know the car has a mid pipe installed. The AA EL mid pipe is the best sounding option in my opinion
@@vvillasanteBMW coldstarts on the inline 6's are pretty bad regardless imo. I have the AA equal length midpipe and the first 3-5 seconds on a true cold start it will rattle most of the time, then its just really loud until it revs down bout 25-30 seconds later. Never open valves on coldstart cuase its just too load and doesn't sound good. Once the exhaust is warmed up any time starting the car with open valves is very loud but sounds great. Driving with the valves open the car sounds miles better than stock, really wakes up the car and will startle drivers next to you when reving in the right gear, sounds like a shotgun on upshifts. Tiny drown on highway with valves open, but only when appying certain amount of gas, mostly just sounds great. Valves closed you almost wouldn't know the car has an exhaust. From my research there isn't a perfect exhaust for this generation, as long as you have 2 turbos it can be hit or miss on aftermarket exhausts.
@@carguy302do you prefer this over the single midpipe? I’ve been trying to find comparisons. I think I’m leaning more toward the equal length now but have seen some report it’s not ideal with stock axle back. Can you comment on this?
Hey bro! I just got my AA equal length midpipe from X-PH. Their was no option to choose res and non res. Is that just something u choose to do when installing it or what? I'm new to all this but I see some people comparing the resonated version and non res.
What’s up brotha! The new AA EL mid pipe doesn’t offer an option for a res version. In my opinion it’s not needed. Their single mid pipe offers a resonator to give it a smooth mer sound.

A QUESTION, AFTER INSTALLING THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON? thanks
No check engine lights.
The mid pipe doesn’t remove the primary cats.

A mid pipe will not cause a check engine light on a U.S spec G80 M3.
Yeah man that sounded good! Now that I’ve had mine for about a month, I see why folks mess with the exhaust. It could def use a bit more anger. Lol.
I agree. It's too quiet with the stock exhaust. This was a great mod that didn't make the car sound obnoxious.
Would you recommend these midpipes than any other ?

Thanks! Stock downpipes. Only change made was the Equal Length AA mid pipe.
how did you change your speedometer layout to that??
The mode selector. The screen changes depending on the mode selected
Have an AA mid pipe on my F82 M. It is SOOOO much better as far as sound. 1000% worth every penny

Any exhaust drone or rasp?
I haven’t experienced any. In my opinion it sounds perfect.

I wonder, does it upgrade the sound of the burble ?
