I never understood why the 06-07 gsxr 600 was so, sort of, the Grey mouse in the 600 class. They always revered about the revvy r6 and the raspy, torquey Daytona. The gix ended in the middle because it did nothing wrong nor anything perfect. Yet in my opinion its the best 600 ever! Best equiped (adjustable footpegs, steering damper, slipper clutch, hazard lights, Gear indicator) nice design touches such as intergrated turn signals front and rear and the stubby moto GP style muffler with a stock sound loudest in its class. And what to think of the trademark of all gixxers: the intake howl inciting a mix of adrenaline rush and primal fear: diabolic, addictive, exciting, beautiful giving the bike a bit extra character compared tot the other inline fours. And engine performance whas in the middle of the ball park. Why this bike wasn't ranked higher in comparisons is beyond me. Im looking for a stock black 06 model. Only have to convince my better half. Convincing your girlfriend takes time hahaha. Want one. Greetings from a 29 year old Dutch, Christian stock 06 Daytona 675 owner!

I learn't a long time ago, to ignore bike magazine reviews, by at least the mid nineties, there were no "bad" Japanese sports bikes. This era of 600s was just starting to go too far track biased, one of the things that help kill off the 600 fours. For me personally the best years were 99 to 04, one of the best bikes ive ever ridden was an ex Ten Kate Racing 02 CBR600FS that a British guy had bought from them when they changed to the RR, he put all the road gear back on, and used it as a road bike😆. He brought it out to NZ when he emigrated here, that bike was perfection.
Oh, and talking about intake howl, a 98 to 02 ZX600R is the champ of intake howls😄😄

I had a 07 600 Gixxer that was my last of 8 Bikes, and it was the best by far, when I sold it, which I regret to this day, it had 48,000+ miles on it, and it never skipped a beat, I took many road trips from So-Cal to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Zion Utah, Grand Canyon, I just put soft bags, a tail bag & a tank bag and be gone for two weeks, in the Desert I would Cruise at 8,000 rpm witch is Half of the engine speed, you’d be doing 90 mph, it was just Bullet Proof. Had a Leo Vince pipe, Power commander, it hauled ass.

You were mentioning the Passing Switch that blips the High Beams and what's the use. The use is to inform the person you're about to overtake, in case they haven't noticed the turn signal. I've got it on my 2016 V Strom, but the only place I've seen them before was on 60's Alfa Romeos and it was hooked to the Horn. The horn did not honk, it blipped the High Beams for passing. I live in Thailand and you will see drivers flash the high beams when they make a pass. It signals to the other drivers coming head on in the other lane that I am passing and not going to stop. Not sure if that has anything to do with the pass button but people in other countries do use the high beams to signal.

I love that GSX-R sound. Beautiful bike. I have an '02 750 with an Akropovic Evolution 3 full system. Yes, a K2, but it rides perfectly (knock on wood). It's still a relevant machine in my opinion. Plenty of power; way more than my old '97 R600 SRAD. Over 9k RPMs it becomes so frenetic that I really have to hang on and crouch. The front hoop will rise on you in first and second if you don't put more if your weight forward.
Will it keep up with the 180-200 HP liter bikes? In the canyons, yes. But on open road straightaways, you'll have to work very hard--and still lag behind. Riding alone, it's powerful enough to give me a rush every time I ride it. You only become aware of a power deficit when riding with fast guys on liter bikes. It's been my experience that Gixxers are very well made and last a long time. I'd suspect that the 600 over achieves, and it won't have the longevity of a 750 or 1000. Still, I rode my 600 for a good 5 years when overseas before the engine lost serious compression. But I rode the bike very, very hard every single day, usually in the powerband sweet spot -- 9,000-12.5k RPMs. Basically like a two-stroker.
With normal riding, I don't see why it wouldn't go at least twice that many years before things start going wrong. The most relevant factor IMHO is rider skill. A K7 is totally relevant if you ask me.
    Subscribed :)

I've a K1 600 with a Yoshi Titanium, Kent Cams and 26'000 miles on the clock. Besides a small dent in the power at 5000-6000rpm the engine feels great, pulls in every gear. Power-Weight ratios didn't change much from '01 all the way up until '14. Just kept pace with emmissions regs. Much bigger performance factors are gearing, tyres and rider weight.

The 01 to 03 600/750 Gixxers are my all time favourites (05 for the 1000s) they are still great bikes, and the 750 was still being developed as its own model, (later, the 750 became based on the 600) The hardest thing now is finding a good one that hasn't been owned by a muppet, Gixxers, unfortunately, do seem to attract a certain type of rider, one who appears to have zero taste🤣

I got my GSX-R 600 K6 in 2016 and I do not regret that decision at all. It's been dead reliable, it looks awesome, rides like a dream and is very comfortable. I rode my friends '06 CBR600RR and test rode a Ninja 636C while on the look for the first supersport but those just didn't fit me, I liked the CBR600RR more in the handling and looks department than the Ninja because it was really well handling (and honestly, those bikes still make my winky go wonky even though I joined the "Gixxerbois" and so does the '05 Fireblade, dat undertail yo) but it was just not well suited for taller people imo (188cm/6'3"). With the CBR's and Ninjas you sit more "on top" than "inside" the bike and it feels really crumpled. A very aggressive position which is good on the track no doubt but if you ride the thing day in day out and just want to cruise from time to time (yes, I do cruise on a supersport lol) I felt like it wasn't for me. While all my friends told me not to get a Gixxer (which were riding in a holy trinity trio lol, Ninja/CBR/R6) I still went a long way to look at it and don't regret buying it.
Yes I'm a weirdo and let's face it, that is the exact reason you get a GSX-R.
    Because you're weird.
    And probably broke.
And everyone told you not to get one.
Excuse me, I have to pet my bike or it'll get all jelly on me.
(Got a titanium Arrows Street Thunder on it now, snap ring blew out through the winter for some reason so now I have to ride it without a baffle insert....heh, everyone looks at me like a squirrel is sitting on my head)

Don’t know why people would say not to get one. Did my research before buying my first bike which is my baby 2003 Alstare. Fastest bike for its class. Most reliable bike for its class. Best value for its class. I mean if you look on TH-cam how these guys invented the GSXR. Then watch how the other bikes were made. You will know why you chose a Gixxer. I know my bike is old, but so am I, and one day I will upgrade. But this bike has only 24000 k on it I paid only 1500. So do the math. New 600s go for 12000 by the time taxes are add3d on.

Suzuki had the dominant market share here in NZ for a long time, so GSX-Rs have always been quite popular here, and definitely not just for weirdos🤣. They've won the local superbike series more often than not too. I bought the first GSX-R when it came out, the 84 GSX-R400 and it was amazing for the time, when the 750 came out in 85, i jumped camp and bought the FZ750, (it was a better road bike with a gruntier engine) my brother bought a 85 GSX-R750 tho. Bought another Gixxer as a restoration project in 97, a 86 GSX-R1100, still have that old beast, and it still a great bike. Newest GSX-R ive owned is a 02 750, (but have ridden most model years up to around 2017). I bought that as a track bike because i didn't want to risk wiping out my pristine 1st gen R1. Bought it rough, as someone had low sided it, found mint 2nd hand fairings online that were cheaper than glass fibre race fairing so ended up putting it back on the road, such a great bike. Lost interest in new bikes around 09, they just don't float my boat. Gone back to my roots, restoring and riding 80s/90s sports bikes, just bought my next project, a 98 SRAD 750 that's been left standing for 15 years.😃

The passing switch is great to tell people riding/driving the other way that cops are ahead & in Australia everyone knows that flashing your lights means that.

the k6/k7 600 and 750 are great, dont know what there is to dislike about them, my 750 has over 41k miles on ther clock, still pulls like a beast, still runs great, and gear changes are more smooth feeling than my buddies 2011 r1 with 8k miles..... i just now finally had to replace the water pump this year along with its first fork seal job ever, other than basic sportbike consumables like tires chains and sprockets oil and fuel it has been stone cold reliable, and I ride that bike fucking HARD, 5 track days under its belt, and many many of the miles on the odometer were logged at well over 100mph. K6/K7 gixxer 600/750s and the k5/k6 1000cc gixxers are the best suzuki has ever built IMO....

Flashing the hibeam is to let people in front of you see you. You know your invisible when riding. If you think the driver dosent see you or they start to turn in front of you then use the switch.

I own one of these all carbon fibered out, sprocketed, full pipes, fuel programmer, motion pro2 quick throttle, adjustable steering stabilizer, all kinds of little engine gaurds, frame sliders and I ran out of things to do to her and I absolutely love her. She's sooo amazing. I bought it to flip but can't sell her, I sold my Hayabusa instead, I really liked riding the 600 more than the Busa. I can make the engine scream drag a knee around an off ramp do wheelie out of the ramp and never hit 60mph it's perfect. The Hayabusa if the engine was screaming how I love it I was doing over 100mph. I just can't ride that bike and keep my driving privlege for much longer. I'm gonna try an endoro. This little 600 with the sprockets is not for beginners IMO
