Thorough and informative video . Helped me get my in laws washer cleaned and reaffirmed my stance that a top loading washer with a stainless steel tank at a fraction of the cost is the way to go !
I didn't want to do it, but my son lost his cross on a necklace, and there was only one place it could be. I removed the back panel, and I could see the coin trap/filter to the right on the pump. It was very easy to place a bowl under the cleanout. Very little water leaked out into my bowl. The necklace was there!!! Not every mom can do this, but you can! Only caution: watch the back panel when putting it back on. The edges are sharp and I drew a little blood. Operation was a success!!!
Is your washer the same as this on the video?
I have the same problem. But I am 74 and live alone. The washer is so heavy that I can't move it to get to the back panel, otherwise I could do this. I have fixed other washers and driers before.

Thank you so much for showing how to access the control panel. I combined your TH-cam video with another one and managed to troubleshoot the problem with my Whirlpool Duet washer. Wow. I’m a Maitenance tech and watch repair clinic all the time for info, this video was a lifesaver, 45 minute job.
This helped me get into our Whirlpool Duet model WFW9150WW01, although a few things were different (especially: cleanout is in the front, behind a lower panel secured with just three screws!). After 11 years, it suddenly began leaking badly out the bottom and had been banging/walking all over during spin cycles fro a while. Turned out the front gasket had two large tears inside and the dampers were shot, plus the filter was full of rusty shmoo from a combination of lost hair clips, jewelry, dog hair, and a stray drill bit. Total price of replacement parts off Amazon was about $130, opening up enough to diagnose was about two hours, and it took me another evening to replace the busted stuff and button it back up.
None of the other videos I found showed how to remove the 2 piece front cover, only the 3 piece. This helped a ton with my Whirlpool WFW97HEXL2 . Thank you!

This helped me a lot, thank you. With four dogs, the filter was heavily clogged with hair. I really with this model came with a hatch on the left side to gain easy access to the filter...
Ahh... So the filter is behind the left panel as you're looking straight at the front of the machine (The panel they didn't remove in the vid)?
@@rob.halpin the drain filter in below the drum. it can accessed from the back as well, remove a much of screws, remove the back panel and open the drain pump filter. much easier to do especially if the dryer is stacked over the washer.

If a person is taken apart the washer or electrical device always good to take a picture of how everything was placed before dismantling or removing the parts and screws, that way you can be assured how to assemble the machine together again

Thank you for this video, it's a good start, but I need to clean behind the basket, between the basket and the drum there is bits of metal from something washed that shouldn't have been, and some bits of rags or clothing.

The washer you are working on. Where is lint trap. I have same one. We have the dryer stacked on top! Does this mean I can't get at it! They showed these as stackable when we bought them!
This video was excellent. I now know how to disassemble my unit. I was kinda hoping you would talk more about the door latch. I have an E2 F5 error code on a very similar machine, a whirlpool duet front loader. Do you have any videos on this? I believe it may be something with the door latch.

Thank you for the video but the filter is the worst on this particular machine. No easy access to the front and not enough room to put a pan/catcher under the filter so all the water just goes on the bottom of the machine
After installing the back panel of my washer and plugged it in and it popped a breaker what went wrong
Thank your for another great video. Wish they had that short panel on front. This was a lot of work to clean out a drain. Only hard part was that ring clip. With trial and error I was able to use two clamps at the 6 and 3 position to hold it In better.

So… how do we get the drum out. I think somehow I got a pen in there. Between the plastic sleeve that goes to the drain pump and the drum. It’s jamming really hard out of nowhere. I think it’s a pen.

How do you get to the drain pump and internal drain?
drain pump is under the drum. You can access it after removing the front or more simply after removing the back of the unit. twist and pull the pump filter.

I was seeing a E1F9 codes . I cleaned the trap and made certain there was no blockage in drain hose. Machine worked for 5 loads. I received the same error codes on the 6th load. I drained all the water and ran spin and drain received error code SD. Tried to reset, pressed too many buttons now no LED lights on and I have a humming sound similar to a motor trying to start. Any suggestions what to do next?
Mine keeps giving me a F21 code…I have replaced the pump and the inlet..I’ve checked for clogs still F21. Sometimes it will give me a sud code. Any ideas? I’m stuck and don’t know what to do…I hope someone on here can help me. Thanks in advance 😊

It is possible that my washer is off balance due to heavy hard water deposits inside. I wish this went one step further to show how to remove the drum for internal cleaning
I have a whirlpool duet washer 9700. Turns on fine but when I push the start button beeps 3 times and doesn't start. No error code. Cycled through old error codes and f17 is the most recent but think this is not relevant
my Whirlpool front end loader will not agitate. And that's like it's going to and it's kind of like it's slipped a cog and it quits turning but you can hear something turning and grinding at the same time

How do you get to the filter if your washer is holding water and most likely has animal hair in it. . I don’t see this on this type of washer. Mine is just like this one.

How do you adjust the water level on this model? I've seen videos of people being able to turn a screw on the water level sensor but this model doesn't have that same sensor. There are no screws on it to turn. The service manual says water level should be 2.5 - 5 inches and mines is like 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water. I can't get campfire smells out of my clothes no matter what cycle I choose.

Hello , ive got a question , i hope someone in the thread is still active .... i have a duet combo , and wanted to know if wne i fill the bleach / fabric softner area in the pull out drawer and close it , the fluid seems to leak into the washer right away , is this common ? or is there an issue , thanks

The WFW72HEDWO Washer came new in the manufactured home we bought. The warranty was out before we even moved into the home. We have had 4 different appliance repairman look at this top loading washer and it still does not clean my clothes. There is never enough water in it to wash them properly. I have used it a total of 10 times and I will never purchase another whirlpool product. Just had to get my 2 cents in.

I need to redesign the firmware because it does not fit well our clothes nor the environment-friendly liquid soap that we use, and integrate the washer in the home automation network. It seems those white goods became too overengineered towards contests for the maximum water savings with harsh chemicals, and only high-end ones have an inlet for hot water, preventing others from a direct connection to a renewable energy water heater.

These are newer whirlpools kenmores and older whirlpools have a bottom tab so you can access pump speed control or drain plug

Yes! I had a version of this one….a whirlpool duet…and not only did you have to remove the top panel but you also had to remove the BACK panel first, then the top panel, and then you could remove the front panel! I just got another duet and you don’t have to take the back off first but you do have to take the top off and I can’t figure out how to get the front off. That’s why I’m here but yes it’s INSANE!
Unbelievable that there is no little door on the front panel of our washer to open and simply clean out the drain filter. This was done on purpose. Bloody.

I took top off, removed cleaner drawer and two screws, removed both screws at top sides, THEN as you easily lift up the control panel...well, mine doesn't lift up at all, pulling hard does nothing. you mention tabs but I don't see that they connect or are holding anything. very frustrating.

If you have an E1 f8 on a Whirlpool Duet replace the hose on the water level pressure switch you most likely have a pin hole in it

A spring expansion tool will make removing and reinstalling the spring around the gasket much more easy and less dangerous.
Do you have more specific steps, we need to replace the large seal right at the front of the washer
