I just had to come on here and say THANK YOU! I followed each step and fixed my washer on my own today, saving who knows how much money!! Thank you again !
EXTREMELY insightful! You showed numerous ways to fix the issue and pointed me in the right direction. One video a guy only unplugged it and plugged it back in then ended the video. Appreciate your time and knowledge you've shared 🤙🏼
This was helpful. I replaced the pressure switch. I also took the pump out to make sure there wasn't anything stuck in it. For anyone wondering, there are just four bolts and the whole thing comes out. If the errors come back I will probably replace that.
Just wanted to thank you for this info. Yours is the first video I’ve watched that mentions the small black tube/switch. We blew thru the small black tube and now the washer is working perfect. I had cleaned the filter and couldn’t figure it out. You saved me $1500 on a new washer!!
I had this error the other day. Machine just kept buzzing even after unplugging and resetting. I checked and cleaned the pump filter but the problem was actually the rubber front door seal. The bottom holes in the rubber were blocked with lint so the water pooled up in that little reservoir. That solved the error message. I did have to remove the top panel to manually open the door. It was locked and a manual open was the only way.
Thanks a bunch had the exact same issue. One hole was blocked by some kind of paper and another was filled with lent. Running a cleaning cycle after to make sure all is good to go.
This! I’ve had these codes previously with debris in the pump screen so that’s where I went first. Then the pressure hose. The biggest clue, which I subconsciously ignored until reading this comment, was the detergent that had pooled at the bottom of the door seal.🤦🏼♂️ Poked my finger around each drain hole and it was literally fixed in 30 seconds, 3 hours after I started working on it.🙄 Always start with the low hanging fruit!
Thank you!!!! My washer was locked with both error codes flashing. Tried resetting multiple times to no avail. I followed your video and we seem to be in business!
Thanks for posting this video. Blowing in that sensor's tube seems to have solved my error code. You showing exactly where it was and how to get to it was invaluable.
Spot on brother, thank you for the brief, bulleted, but precisely thorough trouble shooting demonstration. My issue wound up being a partially occluded air dome. I found a couple of small items in the pump drain catch (small hook and metal closet shelf peg), but they weren’t problematic. Took seconds to clean the gunk out of the air dome and I’m back up and running. Saved me money and time I can’t afford to waste (especially on NFL game day 😁). Thank you again for taking time to share your experiences.
I've had this issue intermittently for about two years. I've replaced the Air Dome, Pressure Switch and, just last week, the hose from the Pressure Switch to the Air Dome. I thought this last repair had it nailed but this morning the dreaded E01 F03 appeared once again. I think the only option left is the Control Board which, here is Canada, is about $500 - and there is no guarantee it will be the fix (and, of course you can't return the part if it doesn't work). As much as I don't want to, I think I might have to get a new unit. This one is only 7 years old. If I could get it up to the roof to throw it off, I would.
We are in the same boat. My washer is about 8 years old. And I have had the exact same experience as you. Did you replace the control board? That is where I'm at, but I am hesitant to spend the money...
Same exact problem. 8 year old washer and I've been struggling with this thing the last 3 years. Did all the changes you did -- same result. Honestly looking at a new washer as well...
Thank you so much! Was having the same issue, checked drain hose and trap, both seemed fine. Was quoted ~$300 by repairmen to come check. Figured should try the pressure switch after watching your video. And viola!
THANKS! i saw how easy this looks so I went ahead and cleaned out my drain trap for the first time ever. So much stuff in there, no wonder I wasn't getting correct drainage. 2 pennies, a nickel, A BIC PEN, a bracelet and a bunch of plastic. There was also a large shirt button broken in half, both pieces lodged into 2 of the drain holes. One of the pennies was severely worn into an oval, stuck for up to 4 years.
You are a life saver...im still in disbelief & trying to understand how such items & undergarments were able to get through the drain holes & into our washer filter. THANK YOU! ( also you make your videos to help others!)
Thank you! It was the extra possibilities that fixed for me. Checked the trap, ok. Checked the pressure sensor, ok. I think it was the drain line that was clogged. U the man!
I removed coins from the filter, blew the black hose, replaced the pressure switch, replaced the hoses, and still had the error. However, I followed the advice below about using the Medium Spin selection... that worked! So, the order I'd recommend... a) checked the filter after removing the back b) check to see if the Medium spin selection fixes it c) clear the black hose d) replace the hoses (they should be done every 5 years) and e) replace the pressure switch
IF this does not work! Take out the filter and the hose on the left side of the pump. Use a phillips screw driver and seperate the pump from the housing using the 5 screws and a one 8mm hex bolt. Removed the pump and check for little debris. After years of fighting this thing, I did just that thia morning and it had little chunks of rocks keeping the pump from spinning. Super easy fix. Just make sure the o ring is on the pump when you put back into the housing. There will be lots of water! Shop vac or food containers are best option as the drain holes sit so low!
Another option is try pouring about 2 - 3 gallons straight into the drum. You will hear a click and it resets the drain counter so it knows that it drained.
Great Video! I found some quarters in the Drain trap. May have to do the pressure control switch next. Question: When you blew on the hose, was it pretty easy to blow air in there? Or was their alot of resistance?
Thanks for the video. I'm getting that same code but the water only trickles in. If I turn off main h20 valve and back on while water slowly filling the water starts to flow normal. I wonder if it's my inlet valve. Thanks
Hey! I cleaned out the drain, blew out the hose, and replaced the pressure control sensor, but I'm still getting the error code after 10 washes. Any suggestions?
For ppl who have a dryer on-top of the washer…u DO NOT need to take the dryer off to do this. Just undo the 3 small bolts on the back (top) and then gently slide the dryer back a bit to where the top of washer is released from the front. After that, u can then take the rest of the back panel off to get to the filter :)
I checked the trap, nothing. I replaced the pump, same problem. I replaced the air valve, same problem. I replaced the check valve, same problem. My wife then got the bright idea to change the spin cycle Medium on every wash load. So far, it has been 6 months without a problem. I think sometimes the spin cycle doesn't let the water drain causing the problem. Change the spin rate to medium or slow and see if it helps!
@@danielaturley3840 I'll just say you are welcome. It took 3 months for me to live that down. Where the black rubber pressure switch hose is attached in the back it becomes smashed and acts like a restriction preventing air to expel into the pressure switch
My washer is still working. But I do get a error message with water not fully drained until I reset. Is it because I'm just overloading? Or overloading and a little clogging?
so initially, yes, but I got the same error about 4 weeks later (aka this week). After some additional research, I think part of the issue is that we've never run the cleaning cycle so we have lots of liquid detergent and fabric softener buildup. I can get it to run, so I'm running everything through a thorough cleaning cycle. I ran 2 cycles with only afresh tablets on "sanitize' and then 3 cycles on "cleaning" cycle w only bleach and end up having foam/suds coming out of the vent on the back which meant we had soap still in the machine. As I'm typing this, I'm running the cleaning cycle w/ only 4 cups of vinegar which should break down more of the soap. Good luck!
@@sldgt99 Thanks for the wonderful video-it really helped a lot. However, we followed all instructions and we're still getting the error codes. Any advice on how to know which part to replace: pressure switch or drain pump?
@@sldgt99 I've been chasing the F03/E01 Error for months on my Maytag Washer. Hi Stan- did running the cleaning cycles work? I just went through the steps and will see what happens. I’ll probably order the pressure switch next if I get the codes . Looks like we have the same model.
@@Rzagski These "lower end" Whirlpool & Maytag washing machines are so finicky. My codes came back after a couple weeks.
