As a Probe owner for 26 years it was great to see this Video, What comes to mind is I have a 96 GT and its disappointing on all the features that was cut over the model years I have a very clean car that I'm thinking of doing a TH-cam video on to share my ownership experience cause this car is really good.
@@angelathorne3075 Hi Angela! just rechecking this video and saw ur response a few yrs ago.. I still have mine, owned since new, 30yrs at this point...its been my Only new car and my only daily driver for all this time... alot of work need to maintain it though..at 270,000mi its far from trouble free...
I was in my last year of university and loved the Probe GT but I couldn't afford one then. I'd swing by my local Ford dealer on Sundays when they were closed to check out the Probe GT. Great vid BTW and thanks for sharing it.
What a thrill to watch!! Didnt even know this existed. Made my shit week a helluva lot better. Thank you for posting this!!! I've owned 18 Probes, still have 3, and owned many other vehicles with the Mazda KL engine. PROBE GT AND MAZDA KL FOREVER! I'm addicted for life.
Ok, was the Probe a rebadge Mazda or was the Mazda a rebadged Probe? I guess the answer would be same to the question of was the Ford Ranger a rebadged Mazda small truck or was the Mazda small truck a rebadged Ford Ranger? Oh, the agony!
It is a joint Venture between Mazda and Ford and both cars have there own personality I still have my 96 Probe and my EX girlfriend had a 94 MX-6 which I drove a lot and the MX-6 was its own Esperance Ive always said that these Cars are biracial, half Japanese and American but like kids they have there own look and characteristic .
The Mazda MX6 (it's stable mate) was a better looking car. But they were both great little FWD sports coupes.. Loved that 2.5L V6!! It was very smooth with a nice sound : )
Damn ,i want a real ford engine ,like 3.0l v6 and rear drive in it. So now i need drive with mazda ;D But i like the body shapes of this car so much ;*
Bruno Licietis the probes 2.5 v6 at the time was better than both the 3.8l on the mustang and the 3.0l on the taurus. They made the right choice going with mazda's design. Shouldve been rwd though.
lum otaku No there not...only rust I've came across on a pgt is on the sunroof and hatch.Every other fox i've seen, the strut towers are rusted through or i could put my foot through the floorboard and do the flintstone the rust is so bad.
@@MARC-FENIX Had mine 30 yrs at this point.. owned since new... its been a handful to maintain after the 100k mi point though... about 270k on it now, never rebuilt, all stock, original clutch and exhaust...but Im under the hood almost every day LOL and it uses alot of oil.. not leaving blue trails but the oil levels drop every few days somehow... probably valve guide seals and valve cover leaks
@@skip741x3 Mine has 240.000 kilometers and needs 0,2 Liter of 5W-50 oil aprox. every 1000 kilometers. Maybe you should try running your car with more dense oil.

"The best kind of accident is the one that never happens" - wow, such great insight!
A childhood favorite of mine. I've had 4 so far...all GTs. So much fun to drive! I'll always have a soft spot for this car.
I still have my Probe and still running strong! love this car
mine is 26 yrs old this yr
@@skip741x3 Mine is now 25 and still going strong, but a youngster compared to yours!

You are very welcome. The Probe is an awesome car and I hope that car enthusiasts would appreciate these videos and not find them boring
Hey have you seen the video I uploaded of my Probe? Thought you'd appreciate the cleanliness.
Yeah. I usually just don't comment on others videos. Great to see someone care about their Probe. Kudos to you bro!
Thanks, bro. I just know you appreciate OEM looking cars as much as I do.
91Taurus
Your uploads are never boring.
Dude you are the man. Thank you!
The new 2nd gen Probe was Motor Trends Magazines Car Of The Year for 1993.
this car deserves a better name than "probe" lol
I think of it as a space probe looking for new planets versus the alternative :)
yes! I always thought of it as a space probe. I had no idea there was any other association with that word hahahahh
There is an 86 Taurus promo vid somewhere. If you find it you should upload it.
I'm picking up my GT tomorrow evening.
I wanna have this playing in an in car DVD player at a car show. Since I'm going for the clean OEM look.
Do you also have the "Probe Competitive Comparison" as well?
I like Probe.
That car's got pep... PEP 263A that is!
boy that 4 cyl is SLOW! I worked at Hertz and we had them
No they specially designed them to go slow for the Hertz dealership so they would last and not need serviced as much.
@@Tigerfire75 Exactly 2.0l is a much more reliable unit than 2.5l, own experience.
have one 1989... i like so much

Engines, gear boxes, suspension and body main structure where Mazda MX-6, design (exterior and interior) was Ford.

My brother have a probe gt
Anti theft systen - what for?
didn't care for this version. The first gen was much better looking and better looking seats
Lol this pos was susposed to replace the fox body mustang. We see who won in the end.
My pos probe gt beats fox body 5.0
Dude your Probe could be the fastest car on earth and it wouldn't be a mustang. A probe is a boring modern yawn car.
